Eat, drink and play “pink” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Station Casinos’ ‘Project Pink’ company-wide initiative this October

 

For the tenth consecutive year, Station Casinos is turning up the pink through October. Station Casinos will host ‘Project Pink,’ a company-wide initiative supporting the fight against breast cancer as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To date, more than $581,000 has been donated by Station Casinos to the Susan G. Komen Nevada and American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign.

 

“Now in our tenth year, we are thrilled to have raised over $581,000 to date for a great cause, thanks to our wonderful Las Vegas community,” said Michael Britt, Senior Vice President of Government Relations at Station Casinos. “We hope you will join us this October to not only raise awareness but fund the fight against this disease. Together, we can make a difference and help save lives from breast cancer.”

Artist Michael Godard will be honored for his commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® at the seventh annual St. Jude: Affair of the Art gala from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. 
 
The dinner program includes a red carpet reception, St. Jude patient family speakers, entertainment by Nieve Malandra and the Patty January Band, and a “Celebration of Life” collection of sculptures for auction that were created by Dorit Schwartz and painted by Michael Godard, Tony Vega and Joseph Watson, among others. 
 
Since its inception, the gala has raised more than $2 million for St. Jude, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. In 2006, Godard’s 16-year-old daughter passed away after a battle with brain cancer, so he is dedicated to using his talents as an artist to help other families going through similar trials.

The 28th Annual Splendor in the Glass Wine & Beer Tasting event will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Crimson at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd.

Guests can enjoy beer and wine samples from a wide assortment of wineries and breweries courtesy of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Additional festivities include DJ entertainment, passed hors d’oeuvres, assorted food stations and a silent auction.

 The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation (NBCF) will host the 7th Annual Ladybug Ball on Saturday, April 30 at 6 p.m. at Red Rock Casino Resort Spa. The event will honor Ledcor Group for their contributions to helping families with visual impairments throughout the valley.
“This year’s Ladybug Ball is better than ever with sensory experiences throughout the event to help our guests experience first-hand the world in the way our kids see it,” said Emily Smith, executive director at NBCF. “We’re proud to honor our friends at Ledcor Group for all that they’ve done to support our kids and we’d like to invite the community to join us for a fun-filled night benefitting children with visual impairments.”
This year’s event will give attendees a little insight into the world of those with visual impairments. During the hosted cocktail reception, guests will be invited to visit mixologist booths where they can awaken their other senses with smells and sounds coordinating with each booth’s specialty cocktail.  Event to honor two dynamic duos: Siegfried and Roy, and Karen and Morgan Cashman

The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation (NBCF) will host the 6th Annual Ladybug Ball on Saturday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at Red Rock Casino Resort Spa. This year NBCF will honor two dynamic duos, entertainers Siegfried & Roy and Karen & Morgan Cashman of Cashman Photography.

“Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation is proud to recognize Siegfried and Roy, and Karen and Morgan Cashman for their years of tremendous support that has been crucial in providing assistive, social and educational opportunities for visually impaired children in our community,” said Emily Smith, Executive Director at NBCF. “We’d like to invite the community to join us for a fun-filled evening as we honor these two dynamic duos.”

Guests will be treated to a night of entertainment, dancing and a special performance from Frankie Moreno. There will also be a live and silent auction, hosted cocktail reception and gourmet multicourse meal prepared by culinary master chefs: Alex Stratta of Tapas by Alex Stratta; Jeremy Jordan, Adam Pusateri and Alex Barnett of Cut & Taste; Scott Commings, Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen Season 12 Winner and current chef at Gordon Ramsey Pub & Grill; and Pastry Chef Jaret Blinn of Red Rock Casino Resort Spa. The event, designed exclusively by Joey Galon, Director of Special Events for FAB LAB @ AWG Destination Services, will feature creative décor, custom linens, modern centerpieces, and a few special surprises.

The 6th Annual Ladybug Ball benefits the educational, social and adaptive recreational programs and services offered to children with visual impairments in the Las Vegas valley – free of charge. The return of UNLVino’s Sake Fever just got hotter as “Top Chef Season 12: Boston” winner Mei Lin and her fellow cheftestant and “Chopped” champion Katsuji Tanabe join Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence honoree Don Snyder and Franks & Deans for a night of Las Vegas hospitality excellence on Friday, April 17 poolside at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

 

Chef Tanabe’s booth will showcase his signature Dirty ‘Top Chef’ Taco, while Chef Lin will cater exclusively to guests who purchase the Sake Fever VIP Experience Package. This rare opportunity will include a private pool cabana at the event with butler service for up to eight guests*; as well as a cooking demonstration and tasting with Chef Lin, featuring her acclaimed Chawanmushi, Kobe Spring Rolls and more. The package comes complete with a one-night stay in a luxurious guestroom at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa and brunch for two at Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at the resort the following morning.

Snyder is the Presidential Advisor at UNLV who has contributed more than 25 years to UNLVino and has been able to watch its exponential growth over the years. Chet Buchanan will also be emceeing Sake Fever to keep the crowd energized throughout the night.

 

Additionally, local musical group Franks & Deans will entertain the crowd with a live performance. Franks & Deans is the world’s first rock ‘n’ roll Rat Pack band, a tribute to Frank Sinatra’s boys, featuring new spins on original music and mash-ups of Sinatra’s top hits.

 

Following the main event, guests can head to the resort’s hot new restaurant, Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar, for the Official After Party. Sake Fever attendees can show their event wristbands to receive a free glass of wine in the bar area, while keeping the festivities going into the night.

 

In addition to Sake Fever, UNLVino, Nevada’s largest and oldest wine festival, will host a weekend of celebrations including Bubble-Licious at The Venetian Las Vegas® on Thursday, April 16; and the Grand Tasting at Paris Las Vegas on Saturday, April 18.
