Located on Las Vegas Boulevard just north of Sahara Avenue, The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod is the gateway from the North Strip to downtown Las Vegas.   • Big Shot

Strap into the Big Shot and prepare to be shot 160 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour, as guests overlook the majestic Las Vegas Valley. In a matter of seconds, the Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the tower’s mast to a height of 1,081 feet and down again. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride Big Shot. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Insanity

Insanity features a massive mechanical arm extending out 64 feet over the edge of The STRAT tower and stands at a height of over 900 feet. This thrill ride spins passengers in the open air at speeds of up to three ‘G’s. Riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees then rewarded with a breathtaking view of historic downtown Las Vegas. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride Insanity. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • X-Scream

Hovering 866 feet above the ground, X-Scream’s space-age, yet simplistic, design resembles a massive teeter-totter or rollercoaster unlike anything seen before. X-Scream propels riders headfirst, 27 feet over the edge of the The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod. After being shot over the edge, guests are dangled weightlessly above the Las Vegas Strip before being pulled back and propelled over again for more fun. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride X-Scream. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • SkyJump

SkyJump is a heart-pounding, open-air leap from 829 feet above the neon Strip, holding a Guinness World Record as the highest commercial decelerator descent facility. Day or night, guests can zoom toward the landing pad at speeds topping 40 mph. Jumpers must be 14 years of age or older and 52 inches or taller. Jumpers between 14 – 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must sign an authorization waiver. Maximum weight allowed is 265 pounds.

               

Observation Deck

A unique fixture in the Vegas skyline, the 1,149-foot-tall resort tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and voted “Best Place to View the City” by Las Vegas Review-Journal readers, year after year. L.A. Comedy Club was the first comedy club to bring breakout comics such as Aziz Ansari, Felipe Esparsa, and Loni Love to Las Vegas. The view from the iconic Stratosphere Tower, the tallest freestanding tower West of the Mississippi River, is something everyman and everywoman should experience. That’s why for a limited time, every Nevada local can experience the view near the top of the 1,149-foot Stratosphere Tower at no cost.

Beginning Sunday, February 22, 2015 and continuing through Saturday, February 28, 2015, bring a Nevada ID to the Stratosphere Ticket Center located on the casino level near Roxy’s Diner and receive a Tower Pass for free. Each adult will receive one free Tower pass. Tower admission will also be free for children under 18 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. (That’s a $56 value for a family of four!)

The Tower pass provides free access to Stratosphere’s Indoor and Outdoor Observation decks, each offering unmatched panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley, mountain ranges and world famous Las Vegas Strip.

The Indoor Observation deck, located on Level 108, provides an incredible view from behind floor-to-ceiling windows, featuring helpful signs and facts about Las Vegas’ points of interest. Enjoy the holidays a little more this year and allow chefs at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower to prepare your Christmas day meal.  Under the direction of Executive Chef Rick Giffen special holiday menus are being offered on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the award-winning Top of the World Restaurant, located 106 floors above the Las Vegas Strip, the cozy and comfortable McCall’s Heartland Grill, The Buffet and at the 1950s themed Roxy’s Diner.

“It’s a real treat to come up with such diverse menus at our restaurants, which we’ve built around the traditional holiday favorites that we’ve all come to know and expect at Christmas,” said Giffen.

The featured appetizer is a parsnip Tatin with roasted pork belly served with an agro dolce reduction. Main course includes a diner’s duo of rack of lamb with mint chimichurri and Canadian lobster tail served with Vanilla butter and a winter vegetable medley. For dessert, a Twinkie tiramisu with pumpkin served with Cointreau creme anglaise and hazelnut brittle. $90 per person. Roxy’s Diner

For those seeking something less traditional, Roxy’s Diner, the 1950s themed restaurant with singing servers, will featuring a three course menu. Choose from holiday chicken tortilla soup with pomegranate cream or California green salad with candied pecans, goat cheese, dried cranberries and roasted pears. The featured entree is an herb roasted prime rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and served with pancetta twice baked potato, honey glazed baby carrots and sautéed asparagus. Pecan pie with eggnog creme anglaise for dessert Served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.  $12.95. Regular menu items will also be available.
