Morton Group’s Greek Sneek and CRUSH at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino will gear up for hockey season with game day deals on bites and brews starting Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Available during all Las Vegas hockey game nights, Greek Sneek and CRUSH will offer Ryan Reaves’ locally brewed beer, 7Five Training Day, priced at $6. House wines, sangria and select draft beers will be priced at $6.

Featured menu selections will include short rib tacos, prepared with pickled red onions and cilantro, priced at $9; Maine lobster rolls, served on warm brioche, with celery and herb mayo, priced at $9; and all woodfired pizzas including the meatball pizza, topped with sliced lamb meatballs, tomatoes and tzatziki, priced at $11.

The restaurants’ full menus of signature dishes also will be available including Greek Sneek’s steak gyro, prepared with red onion, tomato, tzatziki, feta cheese and fries, priced at $27, and baked feta, topped with roasted heirloom tomatoes, priced at $14; CRUSH’s 8-ounce Angus burger topped with applewood bacon and Vermont cheddar, priced at $23, and shrimp ceviche, prepared with mango, Asian pear and tomatillo salsa, priced at $19.

In honor of hockey season in Las Vegas, Cabo Wabo will stir up the Golden Mule, handcrafted with vodka, St. Germain, mango puree, pineapple juice and fresh lime juice, topped with ginger beer, priced at $12. Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas continues to support Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation with fundraising event, Tuesday, Sept. 10

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas will continue its year-long initiative to raise funds and awareness for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation on Tuesday, Sept. 10 with this month’s edition of #GoTrueBlue Tuesday. The monthly event gives patrons the opportunity to round up for charity and proceeds from the day’s specialty dish go directly to the campaign, which recognizes and supports officers who, day-in and day-out, work hard to keep the Las Vegas community safe. This September, Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas and the LVMPD Foundation will celebrate the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.

September’s #GoTrueBlue specialty dish is Zigeuner Schnitzel, a classic breaded chicken breast topped with a sweet and savory bell pepper sauce with bacon, served with french fries and cucumber salad.

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas kicked off its #GoTrueBlue initiative in January as part of its 15th anniversary celebration. Throughout the year, the restaurant is offering a variety of promotions in support of the campaign.

The second Tuesday of every month is #GoTrueBlue Tuesday at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. The monthly event offers a charity roundup, as well as a specialty menu item that can be ordered to benefit the LVMPD Foundation. The restaurant is also selling a line of co-branded apparel available exclusively in its retail shop with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Foundation.

Mama Rabbit Bar Tells the Story of Oaxaca with Mezcal, Tequila, Craft Cocktails, Bold Art and Vibrant Design

Las Vegas is now home to the country’s most extensive collection of tequila and mezcal including agave-based spirits that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. In collaboration with James Beard Award-winning mezcal pioneer Bricia Lopez, Park MGM debuts Mama Rabbit Bar – a true Oaxacan experience featuring modern Mexican cocktails, live entertainment, a pop-surrealist art installation from Okuda San Miguel and more than 500 labels of tequila and mezcal.

Mama Rabbit draws inspiration from the legend of Mayahuel, the goddess of agave and fertility, who was said to have 400 rabbit children that she nourished with mezcal and tequila. Over time, the rabbits came to symbolize the entire spectrum of feelings one experiences while enjoying the spirits.

  • World’s Firsts – Mama Rabbit’s collection of agave-based spirits features more than 500 different labels. Highlights include spirits exclusive to Mama Rabbit, such as the world’s first mezcal-barreled Blanco tequila, the first-of-its-kind mezcal aged in premium Mendocino pot still brandy casks, and a Centennial Blend featuring 10 aged tequilas in one bottle adding up to 100 years in age.

 

  • Tour de Mexico – The flavor of each spirit is heavily influenced by the elevation and geographic location in which the agave was grown. Guests can taste their way through Oaxaca with the help of a geographical guide in the menu that plots the origin of each agave spirit. The tequilas and mezcals are available in one- or two-ounce pours and can be crafted into a tasting flight. Each pour is served with a unique pairing to amplify its flavor like an Oaxacan chocolate truffle.

 

  • Fresh Takes – Mama Rabbit crafts colorful cocktails that enhance the agave flavors through an elaborate creation process. Salt of the Earth pairs dry ice with Los Nahuales Reposado Mezcal, Amontillado Sherry, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, Corazon Bitters, vegetable salt and botanicals for a presentation that plays on mezcal’s inherent smoky flavor. Flora y Fauna also incorporates dry ice for a playful drink made with El Tesoro Blanco Tequila, cucumber, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, lime and rose water.

 

  • Classics Reimagined – Mama Rabbit changes perceptions of classic tequila and mezcal-based drinks with bold and defining flavors. The Palomita features Casamigos Mezcal, hibiscus syrup, grapefruit, lime, Watermelon-Hibiscus Agua Fresca Cerveza and a hibiscus salt rim. The Guelaguetza Cocktail, a staple at Lopez’s Los Angeles restaurant, is a take on the margarita with El Silencio Espadin, lime, sal de gusano and a frozen lime paleta. Another of Lopez’s favorites is the Mamachelada, which includes her signature I Love Michelada OG Brown Mix paired with Mexican lager, tajin and lime.

 

  • Bottle Servicito – Groups can enjoy a fun style of bottle service with the Bottle Servicito menu, which features approximately 20 tequilas and 10 mezcals. Each bottle is presented with a tower overflowing with house-made mixers, fresh squeezed juices, salts, herbs and fresh fruits.

 

  • No Paper Straws – All drinks at Mama Rabbit are served with biodegradable Bio Agave straws made from agave fibers discarded during the agave fermentation process.

 

In addition to the expansive beverage menu, Mama Rabbit also serves a selection of light bites inspired by Oaxacan cuisine such as Mama’s Guacamole or the Salsa Trio & Chips, which includes tomatillo crudo, Oaxaca pasilla and habanero borracho salsas. For something sweet, guests can enjoy crisp Churros with an Oaxacan chocolate dip or a tangy Lime Paleta.

 

 

The Legend of Mayahuel Comes to Life

 

With interiors and branding conceived by DesignAgency, the design fuses the electric atmosphere of a Mexican taverna with the artful magic and mystery of a speakeasy, complete with visually rich textures, colors and patterns synonymous with Mexican modernism. Lively music captures the state of Oaxaca’s energy while a bold and bright art program pays homage to the region’s famous art scene.

 

Mama Rabbit is divided into three distinct spaces with the focal point of a double-sided bar that stretches 40 feet high and features Mama Rabbit’s stunning collection of artisanal mezcal and tequila bottles. The front bar serves walk-up guests daily. To the left of the bar, a sophisticated and intimate lounge beneath a cavern-like brick vaulted colonnade features five secluded spaces with casual seating for larger groups and retractable shutters that open to the resort. On the opposite side of the bar, Mama Rabbit’s taverna features a robust lineup of entertainment that transitions the mood of the venue throughout the evening. Key design elements:

 

  • Okuda’s “Mother Natura” – The goddess takes her place at Mama Rabbit in a work of art by acclaimed artist Okuda San Miguel entitled “Mother Natura,” which features an 18-by-22-foot mural of Mayahuel looking down upon a valley with agave. The mural is accompanied by a series of three 12-feet-tall sculptures- a bunny and two deer. Mayahuel watches over her children who are adorning the opposite wall in the form of 400 barro negro rabbit figurines handcrafted by Oaxacan ceramicists.

 

  • Taverna Features – Underscoring Mama Rabbit’s mischievous theme, Italian/Mexican woodworker Renzo Spada created an elaborately hand-carved fireplace for the lounge depicting children hiding behind rabbit masks. Overhead, a custom mobile light fixture by LA-based artist Andrea Claire features dancing bamboo lanterns and mirrored black polished orbs. Directly below, blackjack and roulette gaming tables sit on a custom-designed carpet adorned with flowers and jumping rabbits that enhances the playful and eclectic environment.

ICEBAR, a brand-new project created by Noel Bowman of Minus5 Ice Experience, opens this November at The LINQ Promenade and is now taking bookings for private events. Located steps away from the new Caesars Forum conference center, which will open in 2020, ICEBAR will offer the unforgettable frozen ambience, customizable ice artistry and frosty cocktails familiar to fans of Minus5, as well as feature new, immersive features such as dynamic projection mapping

“ICEBAR offers a completely hassle-free experience for private groups,” said Noel Bowman, owner, ICEBAR. “Our friendly, professional staff ensures every detail is perfect, while our customizable ice sculptures can add a truly memorable element to the event.”

ICEBAR hosts a total of 500 guests: 150 in the frozen ICEBAR, 150 in the warm space and 200 on the open-air patio. Customized ice sculptures can be produced for any occasion, and branded products can even be cleverly showcased while being deep-frozen in crystal-clear blocks of ice. In addition, ICEBAR offers other epic branding opportunities, including the opportunity to project imagery onto a 12-foot-wide LED screen facing The LINQ Promenade, which is traversed by 40,000 visitors a day. Inside, the venue has six 55-inch LED monitors and three projector walls.

Everything inside the frozen space in ICEBAR is constructed with ice: the walls, the seats and even the glasses in which the venue’s famous libations are served. ICEBAR will have cool, blue and green décor elements and signage on the exterior, as well as a 1,000-square-foot covered patio facing the Promenade’s fountain and a “warm space” devoted to a warm bar and lobby at the front entrance. The ice attraction encompasses 1,200 square feet and more than 100 tons of hand-carved ice. The space is maintained at 32 degrees Fahrenheit by a sophisticated, state-of-the-art refrigeration system.

Visitors to ICEBAR don parkas or faux fur coats to experience the venue’s chill vibe. Enhanced by dazzling artistic elements, ICEBAR showcases high-tech projection mapping, immersive ice sculptures and educational features designed to explore the art of ice. Guests ages 21 and older can select from a signature menu of chilled cocktails—such as The ICE MAN, Frozen Mojito and Frosé, all served in glasses made entirely of ice. The attraction is also family friendly, offering icy mocktails with clever names such as Jack Frost and YETI.

Group bookings are also available at two Minus5 Ice Experiences locations on the Strip. Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas and Motley Brews have revealed the final lineup of breweries set to be featured at Reel Big Beer & Bowling Fest on Saturday, July 27 at 6 p.m.

 

Reel Big Beer & Bowling Fest is the inaugural music, beer and bowling event in a partnership between Brooklyn Bowl and Motley Brews. The event will feature unlimited tastings of 48 beers distributed at tasting stations throughout two floors of the three-story venue. Guests can enjoy the thoughtfully curated beer selection before enjoying music from Mest at 7:45 p.m., Reel Big Fish at 8:45 p.m. and Bowling For Soup at 10 p.m.

The Las Vegas Aviators® professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, will open a brief three-game homestand against first-place El Paso Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, on Tuesday, July 23 at Las Vegas Ballpark®.  The series will conclude on Thursday, July 25 and all games will begin at 7:05 p.m. The two teams are playing a home-and-home six-game series. The Aviators will then travel to El Paso, Texas for a three-game series at Southwest University Park from Friday-Sunday, July 26-28.

The Aviators, 58-42 (.580), are currently on a seven-game road trip that will conclude in Salt Lake City, Utah against the Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, on Sunday, July 21. The next scheduled off day for the PCL is Monday, July 22.

LAS VEGAS BALLPARK WINNER OF 2019 MiLB TRIPLE-A BEST OF THE BALLPARKS FAN VOTE (JULY 1): Las Vegas Ballpark defeated Southwest University Park, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, to win this year’s Triple-A Best of the Ballparks fan vote. Over 85,000 fans voted in all five rounds of the Triple-A Best of the Ballparks fan vote, with almost 500,000 fans voting to date in the overall competition. After several close votes in previous rounds, the final vote resulted in Las Vegas Ballpark with a 55.6% to 44.4% margin win over the El Paso Chihuahuas.
