💍💕 Pop-Up Marriage License Office Opening at McCarran for Valentine’s through Leap Year Rush 💕💍

Pop-Up Marriage License Office Opening at McCarran for Valentine’s through Leap Year Rush

County partners with Las Vegas vendors including Southwest Airlines for an extra special wedding season

The Clark County Clerk’s Office will open a temporary marriage license office at McCarran International Airport in February to help couples coming to Las Vegas obtain marriage licenses faster and easier during what the office expects will be an exceptionally busy February that includes Valentine’s Day, a three-day Presidents’ Day weekend, Leap Day, and the dates 2/20/20 and 2/22/20. Businesses throughout the city are coming together to showcase the fun and excitement that comes along with getting married in Las Vegas.

Pop-Up Marriage License Bureau
Kicking off the celebration, the County along with McCarran will host a performance from the one and only…Elvis [impersonator] on Feb. 13 starting at 3 p.m. Couples flying return on Southwest Airlines who purchase their marriage license from the Pop-Up Marriage License Office will enjoy special perks from the airline on their return flight as newlyweds – from priority boarding to in-flight announcements to even a custom Married in Vegas champagne bottle – the airline is pulling out all the stops to surprise couples. Adding to the excitement, the airport office will have a special life-sized cutout of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner giving couples the chance to “celebrate” with a photo with the famous duo who were secretly married in Las Vegas back in May 2019.

Marriage License Bureau in Downtown Las Vegas
Those going through the main Marriage License Bureau will also enjoy a “selfie station” inside the bureau leading up to and for Valentine’s Day weekend from Feb. 12-16 for even more fun photo op moments.

Fun and Surprises for All
Additional businesses have come together for all couples who just need to show their marriage license or marriage certificate showcasing their February 2020 wedding to redeem: Diamond jeweler Sky Diamonds in Town Square is offering all couples a complimentary ring cleaning with one lucky couple winning a $500 gift certificate towards jewelry at the store. Airport gym ZEROlevel Fitness + Wellness is offering newlyweds two day passes for the price of one ($25 value) and luggage storage facility Bags2Go is offering storage of two bags for the price of one ($8 value) for those with some extra time on their hands and not looking to trek with bags in tow.

Both the Terminal 1 Pop-Up Marriage License Bureau and the main bureau in Downtown Las Vegas will also have a custom ‘Married in Vegas Feb. 2020’ SnapChat filter. All couples getting married in Clark County in February 2020 will also get to take home a souvenir ‘Married in Vegas Feb. 2020’ keepsake and auto decal to celebrate their marriage during this popular month and year.

“Las Vegas is a great place to get married,” County Clerk Lynn Goya said. “We anticipate that 2020 will be a very busy year for weddings as couples take advantage of the year 2020. This pop-up office will make it even easier for couples to get their marriage license and allow them to have more time to spend having fun.”

The temporary office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Feb. 13-29. This is the third consecutive year the Clerk’s Office will open a temporary Marriage License Bureau at the airport. It will only issue marriage licenses and vow renewal certificates, and will accept credit card payments only. Couples may also get a marriage license and vow renewal certificate at the Marriage License Bureau main office at 201 E. Clark Ave. in downtown Las Vegas. The main office is on the south side of the Regional Justice Center just three blocks south of the Fremont Street Experience, and is open from 8 a.m. to midnight every day, including holidays.

Couples coming to Las Vegas to get married are encouraged to fill out a marriage license pre-application, which can be found through the County website at (Select “Get a Marriage License” under “Popular Services” on the left side of the webpage.) After completing the application online, the couple will be issued a reference number that they should bring with them to the Marriage License Bureau, or the temporary office at the airport. Anyone seeking a marriage license needs to show proper identification, such as a driver’s license or passport (a complete list of allowed identification and other information is available through the Clerk’s Office web page). Marriage licenses cost $77.

About the Marriage License Bureau
The Marriage License Bureau, a division of the Clerk’s Office, issues about 80,000 marriage licenses annually and is typically the busiest in the nation. Typically, more than 1,500 marriage licenses are issued during the days leading up to and including Valentine’s Day, which is about twice the number of licenses issued during a non-holiday period. Couples can find a directory of wedding services and vendors at www.WeddingChamber.Vegas. The wedding industry is also an important component of our tourism economy, as people coming to Clark County to attend a wedding or get married generated more than $2 billion in economic activity including on lodging, entertainment, dining and other non-gaming activities in Clark County in 2016.

UNLV won the first meeting between the two in dramatic fashion, as senior LaTecia Smith sank a jumper after the buzzer for the game-winner in a 66-64 victory Jan. 22 in the Cox Pavilion. The second game will tip off at 6:30 pm in Lawlor Events Center.

There will be a live video stream available on the Mountain West Network, with the link also available on Wyatt Tomchek (play-by-play) and Mark Wasik (color analyst) will handle the radio broadcast, also on

UNLV Game Notes

♦  In addition to the rivalry, Wednesday’s game is important for both teams as UNLV looks to remain within distance of second place San Jose State, as the Spartans are 9-3 in league play while the Lady Rebels are 8-4. UNR meanwhile looks to keep moving up the standings after winning two straight on the road to improve to 5-8 in the conference.
♦  UNLV is winning off defense, as the Lady Rebels are currently first in the MW in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense and rebound margin, as well as No. 1 in the nation in three-point field goal defense at 23.1%. The Lady Rebels have never finished the season first in the MW in either scoring defense or field goal defense, and is leading the league in rebound margin for the fifth straight season.
♦  The 2019-20 UNLV Lady Rebel squad are one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the Mountain West this season after graduating four senior starters. UNLV has 10 underclassmen on this year’s squad, with seven freshmen and three sophomores, while the four-member senior class had a total of two career starts (as a Lady Rebel) entering the season.

UNLV Game Notes

♦  Saturday is a homecoming for senior forward Rodjanae Wade, the league’s top rebounder, as she graduated from Edison High School in Fresno. Wade also ranks seventh in the nation in double-doubles with a conference-best 13.

♦  This is the second meeting of the season for the two teams, but the first game was over two months ago, as the teams played in the first conference game of the season back on Dec. 3.
♦   Fresno State held a 17-point lead in that game but UNLV rallied all the way back to close within two in the final minute before falling 72-66.
♦  UNLV was just 2-5 after that loss but have completely turned around its season over the past six weeks, having won nine of its past 11 games coming into Saturday’s game.
♦  It’s offense against defense Saturday, as Fresno State ranks first in the MW in scoring offense, scoring margin and second in field goal percentage, while UNLV is first in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense and rebound margin, as well as second in the nation in three-point field goal defense at 23.4%.
♦  The Lady Rebels’ 8-3 start to MW play has them alone in third place, one game behind San Jose State, and it’s tied for the second-best MW start in school history, along with the 2001-02 squad.
