Redken is excited to announce Rebecca Taylor as the brand’s new Creative Colorist. The professional colorist and social media starlet known for her vibrant hues behind the chair has been voted “Best Vivid Colorist in the World” by Glamour and her work has been published in such titles as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Taylor was also recently named the “Best Social Media Colorist” at Behind the Chair’s 2017 Stylist Choice Awards. In her new role, Taylor’s work with Redken’s vivid haircolor line, City Beats and her innovative techniques and end looks will be showcased on the brands social media channels Rebecca will also work with Redken to help develop engaging content to inspire Redken’s community.

Creator of the Hairstylist Education Forum, currently the largest stylist-only Facebook group, and the Founder/CEO of Vivid Education, Taylor graduated from cosmetology school in Pensacola, Florida before going to work at a local Regis salon. “The inspiration for Prada always comes from the house itself. It was a juxtaposition between high and low, bourgeois and street, and this time we used curl as a texture for the look on both boys and girls. The boys’ hair was first prepped with a mist of Redken Body Full Volume Amplifier and then dried with the fingers. Then, using a large-barreled curling iron, I accentuated the curl by bending random sections of hair around the barrel to create the ‘now’ texture. The girls with long hair were dressed into a 60’s/90’s ponytail and finished with Redken fashion work 12 versatile working spray.” – Guido

 Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke unveiled a glamorous new haircut courtesy of hairstylist Alex Polillo for Redken 5th Avenue for the world premiere of Terminator Genisys held in Berlin on Sunday. “We wanted to show off Emilia’s new haircut with a chic, soft, and full style. The look was inspired by the Dior girl… very French, very pretty but with an ease,” says Alex. He used Redken’s Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender dry shampoo and rough paste 12 working material to enhance body and create an effortlessly glam texture, then he finished the look with quick dry 18 instant finishing spray and Diamond Oil High Shine airy mist for hold and shine with an easy, natural feel.

Create the Look:

  1. Spray Pillow Proof Blow Dry express primer all-over clean, damp hair and comb through.
  2. Apply a small amount of full frame 07 all-over volumizing mousse at the crown and work the rest through the ends.
  3. Taking small even sections, blow-dry hair from the top down, using a round brush to create volume. Lightly tease the crown for a little bump.
  4. Spray Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender dry shampoo at the roots to help expand the hair and create more shape. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
  5. Create one brushed-out wave at the front to complement the shape of the face, then finish with a small amount of rough paste 12 working material and quick dry 18 instant finishing spray.
  6. For extra shine, mist Diamond Oil High Shine Airy Mist all-over hair.
