Grand Illusionist to Close Show at Tropicana on September 30 in Preparation for Spring 2019 Launch

Award-winning grand illusionist David Goldrake announces today he is planning to open a new show, set to debut to Las Vegas audiences in Spring, 2019. Following his final performance at the Tropicana on September 30, 2018, David Goldrake will focus on producing and rehearsing for his new headlining magic production. He looks forward to announcing the details regarding his new project within the next few months.

Last month, David Goldrake, known as ‘The International Man of Mystery,’ celebrated the first anniversary of his Las Vegas residency at the Tropicana, where he has performed more than 300 shows. Recently, the magician welcomed a new performer to the show, Mariama, a contortionist and aerialist; and also introduced new choreography, stage lighting, and a new sideshow act.

In the past year, David Goldrake has achieved much success with Imaginarium, earning rave reviews from media and audiences alike, as well as the accolade of ‘Best Magic Show‘ (Bronze) by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s ‘Best of Las Vegas’ awards. This year, David Goldrake has been honored with nominations in four ‘Best of Las Vegas’ categories, including ‘Magic Show,’ ‘Family Friendly Show,’ ‘Resident Performer/Headliner’ and ‘Best Value Show.’

David Goldrake says that he feels privileged to have made his Las Vegas debut at the Tropicana, where other magic stars such as Siegfried & Roy and Lance Burton started their careers. He is grateful to the Tropicana for having given him this unique opportunity.

David Goldrake performs Imaginarium Tuesday through Sunday at 7 p.m. with general admission ticket prices starting at $45.98 (excludes tax and fees). Tickets can be purchased at the Tropicana box office, by calling (800) 829-9034 or online at www.troplv.com and www.ticketmaster.com. For more information visit www.DavidGoldrake.com.

From the classics of magical history to modern experience, the grand illusionist treats guests to an interactive show featuring escapology, contemporary music and dazzling choreography blended with cutting-edge 3D mapping technology. Developed with the best creators in the field of magic and entertainment, Imaginarium embarks on a journey through time that challenges the laws of nature.

Siegfried & Roy Introduce Three White Lion Cubs to Their New Home at The Mirage

The Mirage

HELLO WORLD

Siegfried & Roy Introduce Three White Lion Cubs to Their New Home at The Mirage

Freedom, Madiba and Timba-Masai to Make Debut Friday, July 18

Three new white lion cubs, the latest additions to the Siegfried & Roy animal family, will appear for the first time in public on Friday, July 18 at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage.

The cubs – Freedom, Timba-Masai and Madiba – are brothers and were born just over 12 weeks ago in Johannesburg, South Africa. They join more than 30 other endangered and majestic animals at the Secret Garden at The Mirage.

Siegfried & Roy Siegfried & Roy 2 cubs

“These boys, our newest Lion Kings, are truly our Ambassadors of Conservation and Preservation,” said Roy. “They are the living embodiment of the work of our SARMOTI Foundation which provides support for the plight of endangered species around the world. As you know the color white signifies hope and we have faith that these magnificent young lions will inspire you to join us in ensuring that the Lion’s roar is not silenced.”

There is significance to their names, all picked by Siegfried & Roy. Madiba is the tribal name of Nelson Mandela, who encouraged the magicians to keep the great lions and tigers of South Africa alive for future generations. Timba-Masai is for the Timbavati region of South Africa where the lions come from and Masai is the African tribe of the area.

“Millions of people each year visit the Secret Garden and are awed by these great creatures,” said Siegfried. “One by one, we are raising awareness for the plight of rare and endangered animals – our true mission.”

The cubs are scheduled to appear daily from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Franz Kallao, vice president of hotel operations for The Mirage, said, “We are delighted to welcome these three adorable lion cubs to their new home at the Secret Garden. As a supporter of wildlife education and discovery, The Mirage’s partnership with Siegfried & Roy has allowed us to create an opportunity for our guests to view these majestic animals up close in a unique environment.”

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost for an all-day Adventure Pass is $19.95 for adults; $14.95 for children 4 – 12; and children 3 and under are free.

Discover Your Inner Artist and Paint with the Dolphins at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat

Discover Your Inner Artist and Paint with the Dolphins at
Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage

Paint with the Dolphins

Move over Monet, The Mirage Hotel & Casino’s family of bottlenose dolphins are not only making splashes in the water, but also on canvas. Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is now offering “Painting with the Dolphins,” a hands-on experience where guests can collaborate with dolphins in producing unique masterpieces of art.

In addition to providing participants with a fresh and unforgettable experience, interactive programs such as “Painting with the Dolphins” allows for deeper connections and relationships to form between the animals and their trainers. New activities for the animals create an enriching environment and ensure a higher quality of life.

“Our primary goal at the Dolphin Habitat is to ensure the highest quality of care, which includes high levels of physical and mental stimulation for the animals each and every day,” said Philip Admire, curator of dolphin care at The Mirage. “Our ‘Painting with the Dolphins’ program creates another avenue to mentally challenge and engage our dolphins with their trainers while providing guests with an unforgettable experience.”

Participants of this once-in-a-lifetime experience begin with a brief orientation and overview of the habitat where they observe these beautiful marine mammals up close and personal while learning about dolphin health and behaviors. Following a brief overview of the painting process, guests choose the background colors for their canvas, or have the option of leaving it white for higher contrast. The participant then chooses three paint colors from a vibrant palette of colors.

The painting session begins with the trainer dipping a brush into the first color and then allowing the dolphin to begin illustrating. The dolphin-friendly paintbrushes used in the program are placed inside buoys so the dolphins can hold them safely in their mouths. Each dolphin has its own method of painting, so no two canvases will look alike ensuring that each creation is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Once the painting has dried, participants are presented with the finished portrait, certificate of authenticity and a souvenir photo. “Painting with the Dolphins” takes place twice daily at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and is limited to two people per session. The program is open to participants eight years of age and older. Tickets are $199 per person and are available at the Dolphin Habitat ticket booth or by calling (702) 792-7889. Trainer for a Day guests may also upgrade or add on the “Painting with the Dolphins” program for an additional $100. A variety of one of a kind dolphin artwork is also available for purchase in the Dolphin Shop.

Photos & Video: Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil Celebrates the Debut of its Las Vegas Residency at ARIA Resort & Casino

Last night (Friday, November 9) Cirque du Soleil proudly celebrated the Las Vegas premiere of its newest resident show Zarkanaat ARIA Resort & Casino™ at CityCenter.

The show follows Zark, the ringmaster of an extraordinary circus coming back to life, as he guides us in an abandoned theatre populated by a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats. Zarkana is a visual vortex set in a twisted acrobatic fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to a true celebration.

Celebrities joining the night’s red carpet event and after-party at HAZE Nightclub included actor Emmy award-winning actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), director Francis Ford Coppola, actor Matt Lanter (90210), actress Dot Jones (Glee), actor Harry Shum Jr (Glee), actor Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class), Dj ASHBA (Recording Artist), Mark Foster (Recording Artist), magician/illusionist Criss Angel, actor Omar Benson Miller (CSI:Miami), comedian Carrot Top, entertainers Siegfried & Roy,  the Zarkana creative team including François Girard (Writer & Director), Nick Littlemore (Composer & Musical Director) and Cirque du Soleil’s President and CEO Daniel Lamarre.

In typical Cirque fashion, an unknowing audience member gets pulled on stage by the clowns of Zarkana during the Electric Chair act. Jennette McCurdy, star of Nickolodeon’s iCarly, was chosen for the cameo appearance at the Las Vegas premiere. As she was strapped into the electric chair the light switch prop was flipped multiple times to make ‘magic’ happen on stage between the two clowns and the starlette.

Following the spectacular production, guests were escorted to HAZE Nightclub at ARIA Resort & Casino for an exclusive Cirque after party to celebrate the premiere. Restaurant partners from CityCenter and ARIA provided small bites as Zarkana characters welcomed everyone to the upscale nightclub.
