The five-piece group leans heavily on percussive psychedelia and funk-infused jazz rhythms, favoring a unified group sound over individual member solos. The band is big in the music festival circuit, having played Bonnaroo, Electric Forest Festival and so many others, but the atmosphere inside Brooklyn Bowl when STS9 is on the stage is second to none.

Producer-DJ Maddy O’Neal open all three nights at Brooklyn Bowl, while direct support will be switched up nightly. Chali 2na, founding member of Jurassic 5, will play on Friday, May 4, Jade Cicada on Saturday, May 5 and Michal Menert supports on Sunday, May 6. The group burst onto the L.A. electronic music scene more than a decade ago but began to build critical acclaim with the 2010 release of their first album, “Drink the Sea.” The digital outfit tours with what they refer to as “The Blade.” The custom set piece is as much functional as it is visual, allowing the band, according to Mayer, “play our music the way we want to play our music.” Glitch Mob’s live performances are as much an experience as anything else – fans should expect no less in what will be a perfect venue at Brooklyn Bowl.

“We’ve had this enduring friendship ever since we were kids,” Allman recalls. “We’ve always talked about going on tour together, and now the time seems right.”

Betts will play a set to open the show, followed by The Devon Allman Project, and – because it would be criminal not to culminate a meeting of such legendary sons of rock in this fashion – the two will take the stage together for a special encore.
