The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions announced today that Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town are scheduled to perform as part of the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.  This is the second round of artists announced as performers on this year’s broadcast. The ceremony, which will be co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, honors country music’s top talent, as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists.  It is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

These artists join previously announced performers Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait and The Band Perry, as well as the 3rd Annual ACM Fan Jam, headlined by Brad Paisley along with special guests Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, and New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s nominees Brantley Gilbert, Jana Kramer and Florida Georgia Line.  LL Cool J has also been tapped to make a special appearance during this year’s ACM Fan Jam, emcee’d by Storme Warren.

Performers:

Jason Aldean is nominated this year for three Academy of Country Music awards, including his third consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as Vocal Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know” with Luke Bryan and Eric Church.  Aldean recently played his first-ever Madison Square Garden show, which sold out in just seven minutes, when his “2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR” rolled into New York City for one of its many sold-out stops.  Aldean has solidified his stadium headliner status with upcoming sold-out shows at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium, two nights at Boston’s Fenway Park and Chicago’s Wrigley Field.

Kenny Chesney has won eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, including four Entertainer of the Year Awards and the Crystal Milestone Award, an award that has only been given to five acts in the Academy’s history. He is nominated this year for Vocal Event of the Year for “Feel Like a Rock Star” with Tim McGraw. Chesney’s current single, “Pirate Flag” is burning up country radio – becoming his 8th Top 25 debut and being named USA Today’s Song of the Week. The song is the first single off of his upcoming Blue Chair/Columbia Nashville Records album Life on a Rock, set to be released on April 30. He has just kicked off his “No Shoes Nation Tour” on March 16 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.

Eric Church leads with seven ACM award nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year and his second consecutive nod for Album of the Year and Video of the Year.  He is twice nominated for Song of the Year for “Springsteen,” as both artist and composer.  Church also earned nominations for Single of the Year for “Springsteen” and for Vocal Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.  His third album, “CHIEF,” reached Platinum and received several end-of-the-year “top album” accolades from NPR, Rolling Stone, SPIN, iTunes and the Los Angeles Times.  Church is a three-time GRAMMY nominee including a nod for Best Country Album, and his second and third single releases, “Drink In My Hand” and “Springsteen,” reached #1 on the country radio charts.  Church’s forthcoming live album release, “Caught In the Act: Live,” is currently available for pre-sale and will be released on April 9.

In his record-shattering career, Tim McGraw is a fifteen-time ACM award winner, and has sold more than 40 million albums as well as dominated the charts with 33 #1 singles. Since the release of his debut album in 1993, he has also won three GRAMMYs, twelve Country Music Association Awards, and ten American Music Awards, while simultaneously maintaining a parallel career as a successful actor in such films as “The Blind Side,” “Country Strong,” and “Friday Night Lights”—as well as hosting “Saturday Night Live,” a rare honor for a singer in any genre. McGraw is also spotlighting the hottest music of the summer and calling on his friends to help kick off the 2013 touring season for ACM PRESENTS: TIM McGRAW’s SUPERSTAR SUMMER NIGHT.  The CBS-broadcasted special will feature high-octane performances and musical collaborations from Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and more to be announced, for a two-hour, star-studded concert event benefitting ACM Lifting Lives, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music.

Reigning Entertainer of the Year, and seven-time GRAMMY winner, Taylor Swift, received five ACM nominations, including her fourth consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year.  If Swift wins Entertainer of the Year, this will be her third consecutive win in that category. Swift is nominated for the sixth time for Female Vocalist of the Year and for the fourth time for Video of the Year for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” She also received a double nomination for Album of the Year for Red as artist and producer.  Swift is the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums, and she is the only female artist in music history (and the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album hit the one million first-week sales figure. Swift recently scored her fourth consecutive #1 single from her RED album, and just kicked off her highly-anticipated “The RED Tour,” playing to capacity crowds at 66 stops (including 13 stadiums) through North America until September 21.

Carrie Underwood is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, marking her eighth consecutive nomination for this category – she has won three times.  She is also nominated for Album of the Year for Blown Away.  Having won a total of ten ACM Awards, Underwood is also a two-time Entertainer of the Year winner.  In 2010, she was honored with the ACM Triple Crown, an award presented to an elite group of country music artists who boast wins for New Artist, Male/Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. Underwood is currently on her critically-acclaimed international “Blown Away Tour,” which began at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall and is now making its way through North America.

Lady Antebellum is an ACM award-winning trio comprised of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. The band recently received their fifth ACM Award nomination for Vocal Group of the Year, an award they have won for three consecutive years.  The seven-time GRAMMY-winning trio’s current single, “Downtown” is the lead single off of their upcoming fourth Capitol Nashville release Golden, scheduled to come out May 7. The track hit big out of the gate, becoming the trio’s highest-charting debut on the Country radio charts.

Little Big Town leads ACM award group nominations with four nods, including their seventh nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. They are also nominated for Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year for “Pontoon” and Video of the Year for “Tornado.”  The Grammy-winning country group, consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook, first entered the music scene over thirteen years ago, and their fifth studio album, Tornado, debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Chart where it stayed in the #1 position for five consecutive weeks. The album produced by Jay Joyce, includes two-time platinum-selling #1 hit single “Pontoon,” and follow-up single and title-track “Tornado,” which also peaked at the #1 position.   The foursome has played in front of over 4 million people to-date and is currently headlining their Tornado Tour across the US and Canada. They will join Keith Urban on tour later this summer.

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait and The Band Perry are scheduled to perform as part of the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.  This is the first round of artists announced as performers on this year’s broadcast. The ceremony, which will be co-hosted by Bryan and Shelton, honors country music’s top talent, as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

Performers:

Luke Bryan will be co-hosting the Awards telecast for the first time and is one of the fastest rising stars in country music.  He is nominated for four awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for tailgates & tanlines, and Vocal Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Eric Church.  He is currently headlining his first major tour, the “Dirt Road Diaries Tour,” and has earned five platinum singles.

Kelly Clarkson is nominated for Vocal Event of the Year for “Don’t Rush” with Vince Gill, her third nomination in that category.  Last year, she took home two ACM Awards, including Vocal Event of the Year and Single Record of the Year for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Jason Aldean. To date, Clarkson has released 5 studio albums, sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, 10 million albums in the U.S., and has had 10 singles in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Clarkson recently won the GRAMMY® for Best Pop Vocal Album for her last studio album Stronger. Last November, she released her Greatest Hits – Chapter 1 album, which features three new tracks, as well as a compilation of some of her greatest hits to date.

Hunter Hayes has six ACM nominations, including two in the Song of the Year category as the artist and composer, as well as in the Single Record of the Year category as the artist and producer for “Wanted.”  He rounds out his nominations with New Male Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Wanted.”  Hunter’s GRAMMY® nominated self-titled debut album has garnered three smash hits, including his current single, “Somebody’s Heartbreak,” which has already entered the Top 5 and is certified Gold, as well as his near Triple Platinum-selling No. 1 single “Wanted.”  Hunter Hayes is a celebrated musician, songwriter and performer who is currently on the “Blown Away Tour” with Carrie Underwood.

Miranda Lambert, reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, has earned five nominations including her seventh consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year and second nomination for Entertainer of the Year. In addition, Lambert was nominated for Single Record of the Year and twice nominated for Song of the Year, as artist and composer, for “Over You.” Lambert is currently on the “Locked & Reloaded” Tour with longtime friend Dierks Bentley.

Blake Shelton, ACM reigning Male Vocalist of the Year returns to co-host the Awards telecast for the third consecutive year.   He is nominated for three awards – Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year as composer for “Over You” with Miranda Lambert and Entertainer of the Year, the Academy’s most prestigious honor.  His current single, “Sure Be Cool If You Did,” is his fastest No. 1 record topping the charts in only eight weeks on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.  “Sure Be Cool If You Did” is off his new album, Based On A True Story…which is available everywhere on March 26. You can also catch Shelton kicking off his “Ten Times Crazier” tour on July 19 in Virginia Beach, VA.

George Strait has won twenty Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Artist of the Decade award, an award that has only been given to four other acts in the Academy’s history.  He also holds the record for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.  He has sold more than 68 million records, garnering him 32 different platinum or multi-platinum albums resulting in the most RIAA platinum certifications in country music and the third in all genres, behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.  Strait recently released his newest single, “Give It All We’ve Got Tonight”—the first release from his forthcoming 2013 album.  Strait also placed No. 1 on Pollstar’s Concert Pulse chart in March after the first leg of his on-going two-year final U.S. tour, “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour” with special guest Martina McBride.

The Band Perry returns to the ACM Awards this year with their third Vocal Group of the Year nomination, just two short years after they were honored with the New Artist of the Year award in 2011. The sibling trio’s sophomore album PIONEER will be released on April 2, 2013 and has already spawned the smash, RIAA Certified Platinum single, “Better Dig Two,” which quickly became the No. 1 Billboard Hot Country Song, making it the fastest-rising song of the band’s career.  It is their third chart-topping single landing at No. 1 on the Country Radio Charts for two consecutive weeks. The Band Perry is currently on Rascal Flatts’ “Changed Tour” and will appear on CBS’ The Late Show with David Letterman on April 1, 2013.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Awards counts for artists reflect categories in which they have been recognized as individuals or as part of their duo or group. In some cases, an artist may receive more than one nomination which factors into their official count. For example, Eric Church received two nominations in the Song of the Year category—one each as artist and composer—because that category recognizes both.

In addition, the Song of the Year category recognizes the artist, composer and publishing company as a nominee but does not recognize an individual as owner or partial owner of the publishing company.

Award recipients in each category are noted above parenthetically in the Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year.

Brantley Gilbert:  At the age of 27, Brantley Gilbert already has an impressive list of industry accolades. The deluxe version of the rising star’s sophomore album, Halfway to Heaven Deluxe, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart in September 2011. Collectively, the standard and deluxe versions of Halfway to Heaven have both  sold over 500,000 albums to date. As a celebrated songwriter, Gilbert also penned three #1 hits – “My Kinda Party,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” and most recently, “Country Must Be Country Wide.” In addition to playing his own headlining dates, Gilbert is currently on the road with Eric Church for his The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour. For tour dates and more on Brantley visit: www.facebook.com/BrantleyGilbertMusic.

Liam Hemsworth currently stars in the record breaking movie adaptation of THE HUNGER GAMES, in which he portrays ‘Gale Hawthorne’ and stars opposite Jennifer Lawrence for director Gary Ross. Hemsworth will next be seen this August starring opposite Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, amongst several others in EXPENDABLES 2.  This April Hemsworth begins production on Dito Montiel’s EMPIRE STATE, in which he plays opposite Dwayne Johnson and Emma Roberts. Hemsworth recently finished production on the independent feature film AWOL, which is set to release this year. Liam’s character ‘Wright’, starring opposite Teresa Palmer is depicted as a young soldier in Vietnam who decides to go AWOL after being dumped by his hometown girlfriend.

Hemsworth’s break out role as ‘Will Blakelee’ in Disney’s smash hit THE LAST SONG earned him a 2010 Young Hollywood Award as well as three Teen Choice Award nominations, and the win for “Choice Movie: Male Breakout.” Starring opposite Miley Cyrus, Greg Kinnear and Kelly Preston, THE LAST SONG is based on best-selling author Nicholas Sparks’ novel, who also co-wrote the screenplay.

LL COOL J:  is an entertainment icon who has found great success crossing into multiple mediums.  A two-time Grammy® Award winner, recording artist, talented actor, author, NAACP Image Award winner, entrepreneur and philanthropist, LL continues to display his wide range of talents with every project.  First introduced to the world in 1984 as a Def Jam Records flagship artist, LL is the first rap artist to amass ten consecutive platinum-plus selling albums.  The multi-platinum artist and two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee is currently tied for third place for most Billboard chart debuts by a rapper.  As an actor, LL COOL J has successfully transitioned to one of the consistently highest rated shows on television. He currently stars in the CBS hit primetime drama series, “NCIS: LOS ANGELES” and his performance on the show garnered him a NAACP Image Award in 2011 and 2012 for his role of ‘Special Agent Sam Hanna.’

Scotty McCreery’s album, Clear As Day, was certified platinum in just three months, and he was recently named No. 1 on Billboard magazine’s list of Top New Country Artists for 2011. Clear As Day debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts, making him the youngest man in history to open at the top of the all-genre chart with a debut release. It garnered the highest sales of any country solo album released last year and held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for six weeks. The album’s first two singles, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls,” have been certified gold.  He is currently touring as part of Brad Paisley’s Virtual Reality Tour 2012 presented by Chevrolet.

The Band Perry returns to the ACM Awards this year as a first-time Vocal Group of the Year nominee.  In 2011, they were honored with the New Artist of the Year award after the largest fan vote in the category’s history.  On the heels of celebrating a recent two-week #1 with their Gold-certified single, “All Your Life,” Platinum-certification of their self-titled Republic Nashville debut album and recent Quadruple-Platinum status for sales of over 4 million for their quintessential #1 hit “If I Die Young,”  the excitement only continues for The Band Perry.

KISS remains one of the most influential bands in the history of rock and roll.  As one of America’s top gold-record champions, KISS has released 44 albums and sold more than 90 million albums worldwide. Decades of record-breaking tours around the globe have included high-profile appearances at Super Bowl XXXIII, the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the Rockin’ The Corps concert dedicated to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and special guest appearance on the 2009 American Idol finale that boasted 30 million viewers and a 2010 Dr. Pepper Super Bowl commercial and advertising campaign in support of their Hottest Show On Earth tour.

The KISS legacy continues to grow, generation after generation. The unparalleled devotion and loyalty of the KISS Army to the “Hottest Band in the World” is a striking testament to the band’s unbreakable bond with its fans, and just one of the reasons KISS was nominated for induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.    KISS is currently in the studio recording “Monster”, the follow up to their 2009 chart topping album “Sonic Boom” and recently announced a major world tour starting in summer of 2012.    For more information, please visit www.KISSonline.com and follow the band: @KISSonline

Sugarland is the reigning Vocal Duo of the Year and is nominated for the award again this year.  The country super-duo has reached over 22 million in worldwide sales and achieved eight #1 singles since exploding onto the music scene in 2004.  Sugarland kicks off their 2012 “In the Hands of Fans” tour this April.

Thompson Square, the husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, are nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, their first ACM Awards nomination. The chart-topping duo’s No.1 platinum+ radio smash “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” was iTunes’ Country Song of the Year (2011) and has grown meteorically to become the most played song at Country radio in 2011 (Mediabase) as well as reach the top of the Billboard Heat Seekers Chart. “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” spent five consecutive weeks at #1 on the Country Digital Soundscan chart and 12 consecutive weeks as the #1 Country Ringtone.

MARTINA McBRIDE AND TRAIN’S PAT MONAHAN TO PERFORM “MARRY ME” LIVE WEDDING CEREMONY AT 47th ACM AWARDS – 4.1 / Las Vegas

MARTINA McBRIDE AND TRAIN’S PAT MONAHAN TO PERFORM “MARRY ME”
AT THE 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC® AWARDS

LIVE WEDDING CEREMONY TO TAKE PLACE ONSTAGE DURING THEIR PERFORMANCE

TELECAST TO AIR LIVE FROM MGM GRAND IN LAS VEGAS
Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Martina McBride, along with Train frontman Pat Monahan, is scheduled to perform her new single “Marry Me” on the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. To celebrate the message of the song, McBride and Monahan will perform the duet during a very special moment in the show when a couple will get married live onstage. The show, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time in ACM Awards history –and perhaps any awards history– a live wedding ceremony will take place onstage during McBride and Monahan’s duet of “Marry Me,” McBride’s current single from her latest album Eleven. The song was coined by Grammy Award-winning artist Monahan and originally released in 2010 as the third single from Train’s chart-topping fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco.

McBride personally selected the lucky recipients of the onstage nuptials. Couple Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci thought they would never find love again. In July of 2009, Frank lost his wife, Danielle, to thyroid cancer and in that same year, Christina lost her husband, Paul, in a tragic drowning accident. As a way to deal with the grief of losing her husband and raising her two sons Stephen and Paul on her own, Christina started a support group for young widows and widowers in Washington Township, N.J. where she met Frank. Slowly their friendship blossomed into love as they bonded over their shared views about the challenges of single parenthood and the struggles to keep the memories of their spouses alive. Their wedding will mark a new chapter in their lives, an intimate moment which they will graciously share onstage. The bride will be wearing an Oleg Cassini gown as she recites her vows. Fans can also follow Christina and Frank along their journey to the chapel at www.ACMwedding.com.

McBride and Monahan join previously announced performers Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Young, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts.

Performers:
Martina McBride is a three-time Female Vocalist of the Year and is nominated again in the same category. She was awarded the Academy’s Humanitarian Award in 2003 for her charitable work, and in 2011, honored by ACM Lifting Lives® for her dedication to raising social consciousness of domestic violence and encouraging female empowerment through songs. Her latest album Eleven includes 11 new tracks, six of which she co-penned. Her current single, “Marry Me,” features Train’s Pat Monahan and is the follow-up to her 25th career Top 10 single, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”

Pat Monahan is the lead singer and songwriter for the Grammy Award-winning band Train. The San Francisco-based multi-platinum group’s fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco was certified platinum with three Billboard Hot 100 singles – “If It’s Love,” “Marry Me” and the Grammy-winning smash hit “Hey, Soul Sister.” “Hey, Soul Sister” was the biggest selling single of 2010 and hit No. 1 on the radio in the U.S. and 15 countries abroad. Train’s new album California 37 is due out April 17 and will include the single “Drive By.”

Special thanks to David’s Bridal, RITANI Engagement Rings, Platinum Guild International, BED BATH & BEYOND®, Sandals® Resorts – the Luxury Included® Honeymoon, Duff Goldman, Charm City Cakes and Charm City Cakes West, and the Forever Grand Wedding Chapel at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, each of which have played a special part in making Christina and Frank’s dream wedding a reality. The Academy of Country Music announced today that Blake Shelton, Chris Young, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts are scheduled to perform as part of the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. The ceremony, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.  Shelton will also co-host the Awards alongside Reba.

These artists join previously announced performers Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw.

Performers:
Blake Shelton returns to co-host the Awards telecast alongside Reba for the second consecutive year. He is nominated for two awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, marking his first nomination in the Entertainer of the Year category. In 2010, Shelton won Vocal Event of the Year for “Hillbilly Bone,” his chart-topping duet with longtime friend Trace Adkins.  Straight off five back-to-back #1 hits, his current single “Drink On It” is his fastest rising single to date and featured on his Grammy-nominated album Red River Blue.

Chris Young is nominated for two trophies, including for the first time the prestigious Male Vocalist of the Year award, and Single Record of the Year for “Tomorrow,” the fastest-rising hit of his career.  “Tomorrow,” co-written by Young, is among the baritone’s five consecutive #1 smashes and the first single off his third studio album NEON – the cut raced to the top of the charts and is certified Digital Gold by the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000 downloads.

Lady Antebellum leads this year’s group nominations with five nods, including Vocal Group of the Year, which they have won for two consecutive years.  They are also nominated for Album of the Year as artists and producers for Own The Night, and for Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “Just A Kiss.” In 2011, they won Album of the Year as artists and producers for Need You Now.

Rascal Flatts has won ten ACM Awards.  They are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year, an award they have previously won seven times.  In 2007, they were honored with the Academy’s Humanitarian Award in recognition of their committment to serve others, their generosity of spirit and dedication to helping build the dreams of those in need.  The group’s highly-anticipated new studio album CHANGED is out April 3.
