Cotton Eyed Joe Celebrates 25th Anniversary — Named The ACM 2018 “Nightclub Of The Year”

COTTON EYED JOE CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY — NAMED THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC 2018 “NIGHTCLUB OF THE YEAR”

New Owner Brings Famed Nightclub New Dance Floor, Lighting, Pool Tables, Concerts and more!

For over 25 years, the Cotton Eyed Joe has served as the hottest night club in all of East Tennessee. In fact, this year, it won the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Industry Award for Nightclub of the Year! The ‘Joe’ is already awesome, but it’s about to get a whole lot better! From complete renovations to new offerings, such as valet parking, the “Joe” will have a totally updated atmosphere, perfect for concerts. All of these changes are made possible thanks to the “Joe’s” new owner, Chuck Ward. He’s been in the real estate business for 30 years, and he’s already begun to give the club a much-needed face-lift.

“Everybody loves the Cotton Eyed Joe, and I’m thrilled to be the one who will make them love it even more,” said new owner, Chuck Ward. “I’m working hard to make it better than ever and more visitor friendly. Thanks to everyone who comes out to see us!”

CLUB UPDATES:
Part of the “Joe’s” renovations include new flooring, dance floors, lighting, and pool tables. Coming soon they will have updated restrooms and a permanent stage for their world-famous performances!

NEW CHANGES & OFFERINGS:
Arriving at the ‘Joe’ has never been better because the valet parking services have been enhanced. An all new menu will be making its debut sometime soon at the ‘Joe’. It will be filled with usual pub fare bar food, plus many delicious fresh food choices.

FREE Dance Lessons are held at the ‘Joe’ from 7-9pm on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursday’s Lessons consist of two stepping and line dancing, and Sunday’s lessons consist of line dancing. Cotton Eyed Joe is always teaching new and exciting dance moves!

UNIQUE FACTS:

Each week, more than 3,000 people occupy the “Joe’s” 25,000 square foot building, and dance on the 2,500 sq ft dance floor.

One of the coolest features about the “Joe” is how it’s decorated. For example, the DJ booth is an actual semi-truck! The rest of the building is filled with signed photos, western gear, and much more.

The National Anthem is played EVERY NIGHT, followed by the club’s theme song, “Cotton Eyed Joe”.

ACTIVITIES:
In addition to dancing and enjoying your favorite cold beverage, there are many other fun things to do at Cotton Eyed Joe. From video games, to pool tables, or taking a ride on the mechanical bull, it would be impossible not to have a good time at the “Joe.” Additionally, there are also games like Jenga, darts, and Foosball.

  • Born and raised in Palm Springs, Calif., Tyler Hilton made the move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He released his first album The Tracks of Tyler Hilton in 2004, the same year he landed a recurring role on The CW’s “One Tree Hill.” He recently released his new single “Overtime” and is embarking on an Australian tour with Kate Voegele in December.
  • The world got its first look at Courtney Cole in 2011 on “CMT: The Next Superstar.” After the last episode aired, she was offered a full-time publishing deal. As she has pursued songwriting, Cole has opened for Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Kip Moore, Old Dominion, Granger Smith, Kane Brown, Thompson Square and more at venues across the country. In 2015, Cole released her self-titled EP and was singled out as a Spotify Spotlight Artist while The Huffington Post named her one of its “Country Artists to Watch in 2015.”

Wynn Varble:  Friday, Nov. 3

  • Wynn Varble landed his first No. 1 song, “Have You Forgotten” with Darryl Worley, in 2003. The song was nominated for “Song of the Year” by the Country Music Association (CMA). Varble has had two additional songs earn “Song of the Year” nominations by the CMA: “Waitin on a Woman” and “I’m a Little More Country Than That.” Varble’s songs have been recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks, Lee Ann Womack, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allan and Trace Adkins.

Danny Myrick and Tim James:  Friday, Nov. 10

  • Myrick achieved his first No. 1 gospel song as a writer at age 17 before moving to Nashville and spending the ‘90s singing lead in country rock band, Western Flyer. After Western Flyer disbanded, Myrick’s vocal talent led to singing hundreds of songwriter demos as well as adding background vocals to numerous albums by the likes of Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry and Keith Anderson before focusing on his passion for writing songs. He has penned hits such as “Truck Yeah” by Tim McGraw and “I Love This Life” by LoCash.
  • Tennessee native Tim James has had an affinity for writing since childhood. He has two No. 1 hits under his belt including Toby Keith’s “My List” and Lee Brice’s “Love Like Crazy.” He also wrote “All I Ask For Anymore” by Trace Adkins, which was nominated for Best Country Song at the 2010 GRAMMY Awards.

Matt Warren:  Friday, Nov. 24

  • Being a Nashville-native makes Matt Warren a rarity in Music City. His first cut as a writer was “Puttin’ Memories Away,” co-written with and performed by Gary Allan. This was be the first of Warren’s 15 songs recorded by Allan, including No. 1 hit “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)” which was nominated for “Song of the Year” at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards. In addition to the new tour, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum announced today that a special exhibit honoring Aldean will open its doors on May 27, commemorating his wide-open sound that has been one of the defining influences on today’s Country Music. “Country music’s hard-rocking everyman” is “the mirror image of his fans” (Rolling Stone) as his recent album THEY DON’T KNOW follows on the heels of each album release earning PLATINUM certification or better, tallying more than 14 million total album sales and 18 No. one hits. The longevity of his career reached new heights as he debuted at the No. One position on Billboard’s all-genre Top 200 Album chart for the third consecutive time with his seventh studio album, which has already produced two consecutive chart-toppers. The ACM Entertainer of the Year incorporates his traditional roots into his nostalgic single “Any Ol’ Barstool,” as it serves as “a throwback to the early music that helped catapult Aldean into the spotlight more than a decade ago” (Forbes).

With five albums to his credit, GRAMMY® nominee Chris Young has amassed eight No. One singles, and fifteen Gold/Platinum certifications including “Gettin’ You Home,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “I’m Comin’ Over” and his most recent Grammy and CMA nominated No. One “Think Of You” with Cassadee Pope serving as the fastest-rising single of his career. Released in November of 2015 and debuting at No. One on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, Young’s first co-produced album, I’m Comin’ Over, includes the new single, “Sober Saturday Night” featuring Vince Gill and the PLATINUM certified, three-week No. One smash title-track, earning him four ACM Awards nominations, including his first in the coveted Album of the Year category as both the artist and producer, and a Billboard Music Awards nomination for Top Country Song. Breakout country vocalist Kane Brown’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album debuted No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and Top 10 on the Billboard 200, and marking 2016’s fourth best new artist album sales debut in all genres of music. With the release of his debut album, Brown lands consecutive Top 10 Billboard 200 and back-to-back Top 5 Billboard Country projects in less than a year. Brown’s self-released EP from March 2016, Chapter 1, was highest-debuting Country EP in the SoundScan era and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Country albums chart, No. 9 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums all genre chart, and No.1 on the iTunes Overall all genre Albums and iTunes Country Albums charts- all prior to radio air play.
