Golden Knights Right Winger Ryan Reaves and Defenseman Jon Merrill Spotted at MB Steak in Las Vegas

Golden Knights right winger Ryan Reaves and defenseman Jon Merrill dined with friends at brothers David and Michael Morton’s MB Steak at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Saturday night.

The group enjoyed MB Steak’s signature dishes, including the Snake River Farm Ribeye, and the Charred Spanish Octopus served with broccolini, stewed tomatoes and port wine. The popular VGK aggressor also sipped on 7Five Training Day, his own locally-brewed beer.

Brothers David Morton and Michael Morton have come together to create MB Steak, a luxury steakhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. MB Steak represents the next generation in a long legacy of restaurateurs, which includes their father, legendary restaurateur Arnie Morton, their grandfather Morton C. Morton, and Hymie, their great-grandfather. MB stands for “My Brothers.” MB Steak pairs the old-school steakhouse standard with a rich, comfortable vibe. The menu of expertly-sourced steaks, seafood and shellfish is complemented by creative chef-driven preparations. MB Steak’s diverse wine list is curated with intention, and is accompanied by an extensive selection of premium spirits and craft cocktails, served across a leather bar.  The 7,800-square-foot restaurant reveals itself gradually through its tunnel entryway opening onto the first floor bar and dining room, and a lit staircase leading to the garden bar and lounge. The private dining room and private bar room offer intimate dining alternatives. Designed in collaboration with Karen Herold of Studio K Creative, MB Steak is sexy, luxurious and supremely comfortable.

About Chef Sam “Sammy D” DeMarco:
Working in restaurants since the age of 15, Chef Sam “Sammy D” DeMarco was part of the pioneer culinary school class at New York Institute of Technology in Long Island, N.Y. Sammy honed his skills as he moved through the ranks of innumerable NYC restaurant kitchens under prestigious and trendsetting chefs such as David Burke, Gray Kunz, Jean-Michel Diot, and Michelle Fitoussi among many others.

At the young age of 29, Sammy opened FIRST in 1994– aptly named not only because it was his first big venture but also having been located on 1st Avenue in New York City’s bustling East Village. Sammy became well-known as the “Chef to the Chefs” in the late ’90s at FIRST, a tradition that continued when the Chef reinvented FIRST in 2008 for FIRST Food & Bar in Las Vegas’s Palazzo Hotel. Prior to FIRST Food & Bar, Sammy launched Sam’s at Bellagio in partnership with Steve Wynn where he brought a new way to brunch to Las Vegas. He continued to cause some culinary waves with the opening of Rattlecan, a debaucherously fun burger-centric restaurant designed with the help of HGTV design star Antonio Ballatore. In 2014, Sammy starred alongside Hollywood Director Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Blended), in “Chow Masters” on the Travel Channel. The show played on Sammy’s love of travel and found the chef and director traveling across the U.S. to judge some of America’s off-the-map locations for some unique twists on those city favorites. With an urge to travel, Chef headed overseas with successful projects in Australia and Amsterdam before returning to Las Vegas, a city that has always held a special place in the chef’s heart.

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés launches Dessert Graffiti at SAHARA Las Vegas

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés launches Dessert Graffiti
at SAHARA Las Vegas

Beloved Dessert Graffiti offering launches in September
with “Bee My Honey”

This month, The Bazaar by José Andrés launched its signature Dessert Graffiti at all locations including Bazaar Meat by José Andrés inside SAHARA Las Vegas.

Originally launched at the flagship Bazaar location in Beverly Hills, Dessert Graffiti is designed to be shared by four to six guests and is artfully presented tableside, featuring more than a dozen bites. “Our graffiti is like a canvas,” said Bazaar Beverly Hills Pastry Chef Mitzi Reyes. “They’re all going to be a little different depending on who makes it — we each bring our own artistic perspective to the dessert.”

Dessert Graffiti combines the culinary and visual arts with philanthropy; each monthly iteration of the dessert is inspired by a different cause, with a portion of profits benefitting a corresponding charity. Previous partners in Beverly Hills have included the Wyland Foundation for the “Under the Sea” Dessert Graffiti board, a tableau of aquatic life in dessert form. Upcoming Dessert Graffiti offerings and partnerships will launch monthly and will be consistent across all three locations.

In September, all Bazaar locations will honor National Honey Month, collaborating with The Bee Informed Partnership. Bee My Honey will feature a tableside presentation of 15 honey-infused and honey-inspired desserts designed to illustrate the importance of the honey bee. Available all month long, a portion of the cost of each dessert will be donated to help increase awareness and understanding of the role that bees and honey play in our ecosystem, a cause particularly dear to Chef José’s heart.

September 2019) – Following the success of its innovative gourmet culinary walking tours through Las Vegas’ revitalized downtown and along its desirable Strip, the award-winning Lip Smacking Foodie Tours proudly introduces a brand-new itinerary to its roster – the eclectic “Arts District Lip Smacking Tour.”

On this tour, attendees explore one of the city’s most spirited and colorful neighborhoods—home to a slew of talented artists and artisans. Here, the popular “First Friday’’ arts and cultural festival entices nearly 15,000 people on the first Friday of each month to stroll and admire one-of-a-kind local art. Spunk and creativity abound along the 18 blocks encompassing the Arts District, with a lively mix of independent businesses including vintage clothing boutiques, antique stores, theaters, art galleries, bars and restaurants.

This inspiring experience escorts groups to up to four locations, with each restaurant presenting an array of distinctive dishes while patrons relax and mingle. Guests are treated as VIPs as they are personally greeted by chefs and proprietors and whisked to the best seats in the house at each venue. Guests never wait in line or need to make reservations.

On this tour, guests will get a taste of the best the Arts District has to offer as they meet some of its most distinctive chefs. The first stop is Esther’s Kitchen, where the seasonal Italian cuisine is served on handmade tableware fashioned at a pottery studio just steps away from the restaurant. Chef James Trees, a Las Vegas native, has worked under such culinary luminaries as Gordon Ramsay, Eric Ripert, Ray Garcia and Michael Mina. The restaurant, named for his Great-Aunt Esther whose generosity helped him attend the Culinary Institute of America and open his first restaurant, specializes in scratch-made pastas, pizzas and breads.

At Jammyland, guests will feast not only with their palate, but also their eyes. Former New Yorkers Danielle Crouch and Allan Katz opened this Jamaica restaurant in a converted garage with a spacious patio with twinkling lights featuring two vibrant wall murals, including one that depicts the history of Jamaican music around the globe. Here, guests can groove to Reggae tunes, peruse an extensive rum list, and feast on modern Caribbean fare such as the classic meat patty with curried grass-fed beef enfolded in a turmeric-scented pastry, as well as the popular jerk wings which are marinated for 24 hours and smoked in-house.

Afterward, guests get a chance to stretch their legs while taking in iconic artwork, including “Paintbrush Gateway,’’ Dennis Oppenheim’s two 45-foot tall steel paintbrushes that emit beams of rainbow-colored LED light 2,000 feet skyward. They will also see the thought-provoking “Chain Migration’’ by artist Izaac Zevalking, known as the Recycled Propaganda, which depicts the Statue of Liberty in handcuffs.

The tour excursion ends with a sweet taste of history. At Cornish Pasty Co., Cornwall, England native Dean Thomas continues the tradition of making English, hand-held pies that originated in the 1200s when wives and mothers baked them as a convenient packable lunch for miners. Thomas also serves classic British desserts, including Banoffee Pie made with house-made caramel, fresh bananas and a fluff of whipped cream; Sticky Toffee Pudding; and Chocolate Bread & Butter Pudding that features warm, house-baked bread soaked in a rich chocolate-brandy sauce and served crisp on the outside and custardy within.

The new Arts District tour is $125 per person. For an even more elevated experience, guests may add an optional $50 per person beverage package that includes a pre-selected signature cocktail at each stop. Click here to make a reservation.

In just a short time, Lip Smacking Foodie Tours has grown into the premier culinary walking tour in Las Vegas, garnering not only loyal fans but also outstanding accolades. Its variety of experiences offers guests personalized service and VIP access to the best tables in the house at the city’s most acclaimed restaurants – all without standing in line or the hassle of making reservations. Each tour includes an expert guide who entertains guests with insider knowledge about the sights along the way. At each of four restaurant stops on The Strip or downtown, guests indulge in signature dishes, as well as receive a warm welcome from the chefs. Guests can sit beside different patrons at every stop, gaining new friends and networking connections. The tours are perfect for everyone from locals to tourists to business travelers, including corporate groups of up to 250. In 2019, Lip Smacking Foodie Tours expanded for the first time outside of Vegas to include upscale Santana Row in San Jose, located in the heart of California’s dynamic Silicon Valley.

Recent honors include: “Best Tour”, “Best Food Tour”, and “Best Date Night Spot” by Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2018; “Best Food/Beverage Tour Operations (Land)” by The World Food Travel Association 2018; “Best Tour,” “Best Fine Dining,” and “Best Brunch” by Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2017; “Best Tour” by Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2016; “Best Tour” by INVEGAS Magazine in 2015 and 2016; and “Best New Tour” by Thrillist in 2015.
