Xavier Mortimer’s Magical Dream at Bally’s Las Vegas will offer complimentary general admission tickets to Nevada residents in celebration of National Magic Day on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

 

Locals may receive complimentary admission to the show by visiting the Bally’s Las Vegas box office and showing a valid Nevada ID on Wednesday, Oct. 30, subject to availability. The 70-minute, 14 act show is comprised of scenes from Xavier Mortimer’s own dream world and combines comedy, illusions, acrobatics, and original music composed by the French illusionist himself. Mortimer takes audiences through a romantic journey with captivating visuals, clever characters and unexpected twists.

 

Xavier Mortimer’s Magical Dream performs at 6 p.m. Friday through Wednesday in the Magic Attic at Bally’s Las Vegas, with tickets starting at $49 for general admission and $69 for VIP, excluding tax and box office fees.

HISTORY®, Nitro Circus and Caesars Palace have partnered for, “Evel Live,” an unprecedented three hour live event airing on Sunday, July 8 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on HISTORY®. “Evel Live” will see motorsports superstar Travis Pastrana pay tribute to Evel Knievel, the founding father of motorcycle stunts, and aim to the push the limits even farther than the American icon. Caesars Palace, world-famous home of memorable moments in both sport and entertainment and the site of Evel Knievel’s legendary fountain jump 50 years ago, will host the grand finale jump, both for a national TV audience and a packed Las Vegas crowd.

“Ever since I can remember Evel Knievel has been a hero to me and his influence still lives on to this day,” said Travis Pastrana. “Having the opportunity to pay tribute to him at Caesars Palace, where Evel became a household name, is a huge honor. At Nitro Circus we have pulled off some huge stunts, but this has to be the most iconic one yet.”

“For more than 50 years, Caesars Palace has been a trailblazer in entertainment, hosting over-the-top sporting events in the center of the Las Vegas Strip. ‘Evel Live’ is a testament to that rich legacy and to the evolution of extreme sports,” says Gary Selesner, regional president of Caesars Palace.

During “Evel Live,” Pastrana will aim to surpass three of Knievel’s most infamous jumps over the course of three hours in one action-packed night, including jumping the length of 52+ crushed cars and 16 Greyhound buses directly behind Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s Las Vegas. The finale will occur over the iconic fountains of Caesars Palace. If successful, Pastrana will break Knievel’s records and will be the first person to complete three of Knievel’s greatest jumps consecutively.

Travis Pastrana is an 11-time X Games gold medalist, the world’s first rider to land a double backflip on a motorcycle and America’s modern-day daredevil. Pastrana has won multiple championships in motocross and rally car racing, as well as competed in NASCAR and Race Of Champions, which brings together the world’s finest drivers from all disciplines of motorsports competition.

Knievel suffered fractures and a severe concussion when he attempted to jump the fountains in 1967, while Gary Wells sustained multiple injuries to his body during his unsuccessful attempt in 1980. Raising the stakes even higher, Pastrana will use a V-twin flat track motorcycle – an Indian Scout FTR750 – similar to the bikes that Knievel used in his day. Far from the light dirt bikes that Pastrana is used to riding, the FTR750 is designed for speed and control with both wheels on the ground.

Caesars Palace is allowing guests to make their own history with special pricing on their next Las Vegas getaway. The events are free and open to the public, and tickets are not required. The public can access the jumps in the lot behind Bally’s Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino beginning at 3:30 p.m. The public can access the jump at Caesars Palace beginning at 6 p.m.

Nitro Circus, producer of jaw-dropping world firsts such as Pastrana’s 2017 barge-to-barge backflip on London’s River Thames and Josh Sheehan’s massive triple backflip on a motorcycle in 2015, will create another milestone moment with “Evel Live.” Caesars Palace is the perfect setting, given Knievel’s celebrated jump that changed history a half century ago. On Dec. 31, 1967 Knievel, just beginning to gain national notoriety, throttled up his iconic red, white and blue motorcycle and flew over the photogenic fountains – an image quickly embedded in pop culture. In the decades since, Caesars Palace has been recognized as a destination for spectacular live events. The fountains have remained a tempting challenge for riders eager to follow in Knievel’s footsteps and some, such as Evel’s son Robbie Knievel and Mike Metzger, have even successfully completed the jump on much lighter motocross bikes. But none have attempted to do so riding a motorcycle like one that Knievel used – until now.

On Thursday, May 19, Keep Memory Alive’s 20th annual Power of Love® gala honoree, Tony Bennett, was recognized as 20 Las Vegas marquees around the city lit up with an image of the world-renowned artist in celebration of his 90th birthday and participation in the Gala. More than 50 people attended the invite-only fête, including Bennett’s wife Susan Benedetto, while dozens of onlookers gathered around to watch the ceremony, which took place on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

 

Local Las Vegas entertainer Mark Shunock served as the emcee of the soiree and kicked-off the event by introducing the man of the hour, Bennett, and Keep Memory Alive Co-Founder and Chairman Larry Ruvo. Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak then gave remarks recognizing Bennett’s outstanding career by proclaiming Las Vegas Boulevard to be renamed “Tony Bennett Boulevard” for the full day of the Gala on Saturday, May 21. Following Sisolak’s presentation, Rossi Ralenkotter, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority, acknowledged Bennett’s impact on Las Vegas.

 

Next, Bennett and Ruvo took to the stage to discuss Bennett’s career, milestone birthday and what Keep Memory Alive and brain health means to him. Ruvo then lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday,” which concluded with a Dom Pérignon champagne toast by Shunock as the marquees illuminated with Bennett’s picture. The much anticipated Grand Bazaar Shops will deliver big brand names, intimate boutiques and international flavors, all packed into a two-acre outdoor shopping promenade. At midnight that night, the Swarovski Crystal Starburst that towers above Grand Bazaar Shops and the Las Vegas Strip will be illuminated for the Midnight Celebration for the first time.  On Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, the leading designer and producer of fashion jewelry and crystal décor objects, Swarovski, will debut a unique boutique and crystal installation at the new Grand Bazaar Shops on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Representing a first for Swarovski, the boutique is a free-standing pavilion whose exterior is composed of dozens of large, angular facets designed to make the structure resemble a cut crystal. Inside, the boutique boasts hand-selected finishes—such as linen, paper and burlap forms and inlays—from floor to ceiling, distinguishing it from every other Swarovski boutique in the world. Eye-catching lighting features crystal-enhanced glass spheres playfully suspended from the ceiling, while specially crafted panels provide an artful platform for the presentation of Swarovski jewelry and décor.

Towering above the Swarovski pavilion, a glittering 14-foot-diameter, custom-designed crystal-and-LED-light Swarovski Starburst emits 911 “rays” capped by custom-cut crystal spheres. In addition, the Starburst has more than 1,800 multi-colored, continuously changing LED lights, which scintillate brilliantly against the night sky. Fabricated by the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO), famously associated with the design and construction of some of Las Vegas’ most iconic signs including the

“Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, the Swarovski Starburst provides a stunning addition to the world-famous spectacle of the Las Vegas Strip.

Among the items slated to be featured in the barter window are only-in-Vegas creations such as crystallized Beats Headphones in white, black and blue; a Martin custom-designed crystal classic acoustic guitar; a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar and crystallized white, black and pink skulls. Specific items for which visitors can barter will change from day to day.

Last night (Saturday, Sept. 20), Drai’s nightlife group commanded all attention on Las Vegas Boulevard with two at-capacity events featuring history-making actress Laverne Cox and rap chanteuse Iggy Azalea.

Liaison Nightclub, the first gay nightclub in a casino, celebrated its official Grand Opening with Cox as the host. After walking the red carpet in a stunning kelly green Stephen Mikhail dress accentuated with lavish silver accessories and an Edie Parker clutch, the “Orange Is The New Black” actress joined nightlife impresario and club owner Victor Drai for a special ribbon cutting ceremony. Once guests were ushered into the 7,000 square foot nightclub, Cox took time to dance, take photos with fans and relish in the evening at her VIP table on stage next to the DJ booth. From open to close, the night at Liaison included uninterrupted partying.

As the evening progressed, Drai’s Nightclub – located just across the street from Liaison and perched on the rooftop of The Cromwell – was revving up for a surprise performance from Iggy Azalea. Donning a black two-piece ensemble with sexy cutouts, metallic silver heels and her signature slicked back ponytail, Azalea walked onto the DJ booth stage for a two song set including her chart-topping hits “Bounce” and “Fancy.” The rapper strutted around the stage, keeping up with her dance crew and the vivacious audience despite having performed twice at the iHeart Radio Festival earlier that day.

After Azalea’s performance, Cox joined in on the action at Drai’s following her Liaison Nightclub revelry. Cox and Azalea immediately hit it off and started chatting in the VIP booth, dancing and enjoying drinks together. After posing for some photos, the two powerhouse stars partied through the night at Drai’s with a sea of Las Vegas’ most dedicated nightlife fans.

VÉRONIC Voices Announces Keep Memory Alive as August Charity Partner for “Lend Your Voice” Fundraising Campaign

Vocal impressionist Véronic DiCaire has announced supporting the mission of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, as the August  charity partner for “Lend Your Voice,”  her monthly awareness-building and fundraising effort for selected local nonprofits.  During her performances from August 14 through August 31 at the Jubilee Theater at Bally’s Las Vegas, Véronic will collect audience donations and provide information on KMA’s mission from the powerful podium that is her stage.

 

“The ‘Lend Your Voice’ initiative is based on the idea that we – as entertainers – can use our stages as platforms for good,” said Véronic. “We’ve already raised thousands of dollars for some worthy nonprofits and are happy to keep it going with Keep Memory Alive. KMA is such a beautiful organization that supports the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health with its mission to improve the lives of patients and their families dealing with the challenges of brain disorders, and this month we dedicate our shows to them.”

Keep Memory Alive is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that was created to increase awareness and raise funds for the research, management and treatment of brain disorders. It supports the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, which treats patients with Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as frontotemporal dementia and multiple sclerosis. The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s treatment programs are designed to provide excellent care and to respect the dignity of patients and their families. Research helps to advance Cleveland Clinic’s groundbreaking clinical trials and offers hope for improving brain health.
