THE ADVENTUREDOME AT CIRCUS CIRCUS LAS VEGAS OPENS TWO NEW INTERACTIVE THEATER EXPERIENCES WITH ICE AGE: NO TIME FOR NUTS 4-D AND PACIFIC RIM MOTION MOVIE EXPERIENCE!

circus circus

The Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas recently unveiled two new theater experiences set to entertain visitors of all ages.

The mammoth new 4-D theatrical experience Ice Age: No Time For Nuts 4-D inside the F/X Theatre is an eye-popping adventure following the beloved pre-historic squirrel Scrat on an epic odyssey in time travel. From the Colosseum of Ancient Rome to the disco dance floor, Scrat survives everything from Excalibur to the Titanic as he chases after his beloved acorn that’s been accidentally lost in time.

The fully immersive, high energy, nine-minute show was custom created by Blue Sky Studios, Fox Animation and 20th Century Fox Consumer Products in partnership with SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment. Featuring exclusive new footage, Ice Age: No Time For Nuts 4-D is presented in high-definition 3-D projection combined with in-theater special effects to further engage all the audience’s senses.

Pacific Rim Motion Movie Experience! is the newest feature to play in The Adventuredome’s Extreme Ride Theatre. Without warning, monstrous creatures have risen from the sea, attacked cities and threaten mankind. In a unified show of force, the world’s most powerful nations have joined together and built massive robot fighting machines. In a no holds barred brawl, the last standing massive robot fighter – Earth’s final weapon – takes on the biggest and baddest of the monsters. Buckle up for an intense ride film experience with the heart-pounding action, ground-shaking motion and explosive special effects of Pacific Rim Motion Movie Experience!

“We are thrilled to bring the new Ice Age and Pacific Rim experiences to Circus Circus,” said Tom Nolan, vice president of operations for The Adventuredome. “We understand the importance of keeping our rides and attractions fresh, exciting and fun for our guests, those new and returning. The Ice Age and Pacific Rim characters are great fits as they’re well known and appeal to both families and adults.”

The F/X Theatre and Extreme Ride Theatre are included in The Adventuredome’s all-day pass, available for $17.95 (33 – 47 inches) and $31.95 (48 inches or taller). Individual ride tickets also are available and range from $6 – $9.

The Adventuredome at Circus Circus has gone “loco” – El Loco, that is! Only the second of its kind in the United States, the new world-class roller coaster is now open and invites thrill seekers of all ages to experience a 72-second, adrenaline-pumping adventure complete with G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists. Designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides, El Loco’s soaring eye-catching structure offers a unique and exhilarating ride experience in a small footprint. Reaching a maximum speed of 45 mph, El Loco pushes the limits with unique coaster elements that drop, turn and twist riders around 1,300 feet of electric yellow track for a thrill-a-second adventure, including:

  • 90-foot ascent followed by a high lateral G hairpin turn and a greater-than-straight-down diving drop producing a negative 1.5 “vertical G”
  • Lateral floater that transitions into a 45-degree outwardly banked curve and doughnut roll
  • 180-degree turn that races over the edge into a barrel roll
  • Reverse 240-degree roll that zooms into an inverted drop before coming to a sudden and complete stop

Allowing the vehicle to make tighter and faster turns, El Loco’s small four-person cars feature an innovative open-carriage design giving riders the feeling of flying as they twist around every turn. With a surround-sound system built into each seat of the coaster cars, riders also will enjoy a custom soundtrack featuring the sounds of Latin, Hip Hop and Rock. 65713-el-loco-1-original “El Loco offers our guests something they have never experienced before and is the perfect addition to The Adventuredome,” said Tom Nolan, vice president of operations for The Adventuredome. “This is the first place in the country where El Loco can be experienced indoors, which makes it even more exciting. Riders enjoy El Loco’s twists, turns and drops in such close proximity to our other rides that for an instant, they get the sensation that they may run into Canyon Blaster or even touch the top of the dome creating a truly thrilling experience.” The new centerpiece of The Adventuredome, El Loco is the only indoor coaster of its kind in the United States and the second indoor El Loco coaster in the world. El Loco roller coasters are famous for their record-breaking steep first drops and one-of-a-kind moves. Worldwide, El Loco coasters can be found in Indiana, UK, France, Australia and China. El Loco is included in the purchase of a $29.95 Adventuredome Premium all-day ride pass or a $10 single ride ticket. Passengers must be at least 48 inches to ride.
