for Thrill Seekers of All Ages

Las Vegas’ Newest Attraction Speeds into America’s Largest Indoor Theme Park

The Adventuredome at Circus Circus has gone “loco” – El Loco, that is! Only the second of its kind in the United States, the new world-class roller coaster is now open and invites thrill seekers of all ages to experience a 72-second, adrenaline-pumping adventure complete with G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists. Designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides, El Loco’s soaring eye-catching structure offers a unique and exhilarating ride experience in a small footprint. Reaching a maximum speed of 45 mph, El Loco pushes the limits with unique coaster elements that drop, turn and twist riders around 1,300 feet of electric yellow track for a thrill-a-second adventure, including:

  • 90-foot ascent followed by a high lateral G hairpin turn and a greater-than-straight-down diving drop producing a negative 1.5 “vertical G”
  • Lateral floater that transitions into a 45-degree outwardly banked curve and doughnut roll
  • 180-degree turn that races over the edge into a barrel roll
  • Reverse 240-degree roll that zooms into an inverted drop before coming to a sudden and complete stop

Allowing the vehicle to make tighter and faster turns, El Loco’s small four-person cars feature an innovative open-carriage design giving riders the feeling of flying as they twist around every turn. With a surround-sound system built into each seat of the coaster cars, riders also will enjoy a custom soundtrack featuring the sounds of Latin, Hip Hop and Rock. 65713-el-loco-1-original “El Loco offers our guests something they have never experienced before and is the perfect addition to The Adventuredome,” said Tom Nolan, vice president of operations for The Adventuredome. “This is the first place in the country where El Loco can be experienced indoors, which makes it even more exciting. Riders enjoy El Loco’s twists, turns and drops in such close proximity to our other rides that for an instant, they get the sensation that they may run into Canyon Blaster or even touch the top of the dome creating a truly thrilling experience.” The new centerpiece of The Adventuredome, El Loco is the only indoor coaster of its kind in the United States and the second indoor El Loco coaster in the world. El Loco roller coasters are famous for their record-breaking steep first drops and one-of-a-kind moves. Worldwide, El Loco coasters can be found in Indiana, UK, France, Australia and China. El Loco is included in the purchase of a $29.95 Adventuredome Premium all-day ride pass or a $10 single ride ticket. Passengers must be at least 48 inches to ride.

El Loco Gets Ready to Roll in Las Vegas January 2014

El Loco Gets Ready to Roll in Las Vegas January 2014

First Roller Coaster Car Rides into The Adventuredome at Circus Circus

El Loco 1

El Loco

El Loco is coming! Las Vegas’ newest roller coaster, only the second of its kind in the U.S., will offer screams and thrills at The Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas beginning in late January 2014.  As construction continues, the coaster cars that will soon speed around 1,300 feet of electric yellow track have started to arrive.

The final piece of the track will be laid this week and one coaster car is now on display at the indoor theme park, providing a sneak peek to those anxiously awaiting their turn to experience the coaster’s negative G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists. The opencarriage cars, each accommodating only four passengers, are smaller than average, allowing the vehicle to make tighter, faster turns. The coaster’s unusual turns that tilt outward combined with the open cars create an exhilarating sensation.

Accompanied by a customized soundtrack, El Loco’s unique elements will provide guests with a 72-second, adrenaline-pumping adventure, including:

  • 90-foot ascent followed by a greater-than-straight-down diving drop producing a negative 1.5 “vertical G”
  • 45-degree outwardly banked curve
  • 180-degree turn that races over the edge into a barrel roll

With its heart-racing drops, turns and twists, El Loco must undergo more than 2,000 safety test rides before any rider can board. “As with all our rides, safety is our number one concern,” said Tom Nolan, vice president of operations for The Adventuredome. “El Loco has a number of unique elements that make it a thrill-a-second ride, and this extensive testing process will ensure that every rider has a safe and fun experience.”

Designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides, El Loco pushes the limits, allowing riders to enjoy movements never before experienced.
