Chef Roy Choi Hits Up Las Vegas with New Restaurant at Park MGM

CHEF ROY CHOI HITS UP LAS VEGAS WITH NEW RESTAURANT AT PARK MGM

Los Angeles chef set to light up Las Vegas with Koreatown-Inspired Concept Opening in late 2018

Los Angeles culinary legend Roy Choi will electrify the Las Vegas dining scene in the fall of 2018 with the debut of a Koreatown-inspired concept. Choi’s multifaceted, multisensory experience will be a dynamic destination within the transformation of Monte Carlo into Park MGM.

“I cannot wait to share what we have in store for Las Vegas at Park MGM,” said Choi. “This restaurant will be full of soul and culture that is influenced by the energy of Koreatown in Los Angeles, my hometown.”

The soon-to-be-named restaurant will be a celebration of L.A.’s Koreatown district featuring immersive spaces that feel comfortable and familiar, while creating an eclectic environment for people to open their perceptions to the new and extraordinary.

MGM Resorts International Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage Ari Kastrati said, “Roy Choi and Sydell Group transformed Koreatown with new experiences that area had never before seen. It’s very exciting to get that dream team back together to create an unforgettable experience at Park MGM.”

Known as the pioneer of the food truck movement and bringing quality cuisine to all neighborhoods and people, Choi was named one of the 100 Most Influential People by TIME Magazine in 2016. His restaurants across California – including Kogi BBQ, Chego!, A-Frame, Commissary, POT and LocoL – are rooted in a groundswell following that inspired Choi to find fun ways to feed people in new and creative fashions.

Choi continued, “We are building this place to celebrate the fans and families that have supported us, and to welcome new friends around the world to the culture, personalities, and amazing food experiences born on the streets of L.A.”

Theresa Caputo Live! the Experience Coming to Park Theater at Monte Carlo Saturday, October 14

Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience Coming to
Park Theater at Monte Carlo in Las Vegas
Saturday, October 14
Tickets on Sale Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. PST

Theresa Caputo, from TLC’s hit show “Long Island Medium,” will  appear live at Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino Saturday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. Caputo will share personal stories about her life and explain how her gift works. She also will deliver healing messages to audience members while providing her fans comfort in knowing that their loved ones who passed are still with them, only in a different way.

Tickets starting at $45.50 (including applicable service charges or fees) go on sale Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. PST. A fan club pre-sale will run Tuesday, July 25 at 10 a.m. PST to Thursday, July 27 at 10 p.m. PST (passcode: VIVA). Tickets can be purchased online at ParkTheaterLV.com or Ticketmaster.com. Tickets also are available for purchase through the MGM Resorts International Call Center at (877) 795-2564. For more show and ticket information, visit ParkTheaterLV.com.

Purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a reading. A limited number of VIP tickets that include a signed copy of her new book and a meet and greet (not a reading) are available.

M life Rewards loyalty members will receive access to a pre-sale running Thursday, July 27 from 10 a.m. PST to 10 p.m. PST. To join the M life Rewards program, or for more information, visit mlife.com.

“The Experience” brings Caputo face-to-face with her fans, as she lets Spirit guide her through the audience. A video display ensures everyone in the venue has an up-close, hands-on experience regardless of seat location. “The experience isn’t about believing in mediums. It’s about witnessing something life-changing” says Caputo. “It’s like ‘Long Island Medium’ live, witnessing first-hand spirit communication.”

The highly rated show “Long Island Medium” follows Caputo’s life as a typical Long Island wife and mom with one very big difference – she can communicate with the dead. Since she cannot “turn off” this gift, messages from departed loved ones can come through at any time, which lead to spontaneous readings with those she encounters. A new season of “Long Island Medium” debuted in February 2017 on TLC. In addition to her television show, Caputo has appeared on such programs as “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” “Live with Kelly and Michael,” “Dr. Oz” and “The Today Show.”

Her new book Good Grief: Heal Your Soul, Honor Your Loved Ones, and Learn to Live Again was released in March 2017. With her energetic, positive and encouraging tone, Caputo uses the lessons from Spirit to guide the reader through grief toward a place of solace and healing. Her second book titled You Can’t Make This Stuff Up was released in September 2014 and debuted at No. 9 on the New York Times Best Seller List. Her first book titled There’s More to Life Than This was released in Fall 2013.  Learn more about Caputo at theresacaputo.com.

MGM RESORTS ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR
5,000-SEAT THEATER AT MONTE CARLO

Blue Man Group Returns to Luxor, Its Original Las Vegas Home;
Jabbawockeez to Move to MGM Grand, Where it Debuted in 2010

MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), one of the world’s leading presenters of live entertainment, today announced plans for an approximately 5,000-seat theater at Monte Carlo Restort & Casino.  The new concert venue will amplify the vibrant entertainment district taking shape on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip with a robust calendar featuring special engagements by many of the music industry’s most-celebrated performers.

With more than 7 million entertainment tickets sold in 2014 alone, MGM Resorts’ offerings are unrivaled. The Company owns and operates two arenas; two Las Vegas Strip festival lots (62 acres); seven theaters housing Cirque du Soleil production shows; 14 theaters for concerts, headliners and comedy performances; and more than two dozen lounges and nightclubs.   Additionally, it is currently developing a new world-class Las Vegas arena as well as integrated resort projects in Macau and National Harbor, Maryland, each of which will feature entertainment venues as central amenities.

“From Las Vegas to Maryland, Macau to Massachusetts, presenting the biggest and most sought-after names in music, sports and special events is a core focus for MGM Resorts.  This new theater will enable us to host performers in Las Vegas who we previously haven’t had a home for, broadening our entertainment offerings and providing the opportunity to expand those relationships to our properties around the globe,” said Bill Hornbuckle, President, MGM Resorts International.

Adjacent to The Park and 20,000-seat arena currently under construction on Las Vegas Blvd. between Monte Carlo and New York-New York, the theater will anchor the dynamic new entertainment district currently taking shape. While The Park and Arena are expected to open in April 2016, the Monte Carlo theater is projected to welcome its first act at the end of 2016. Unique to the market, the theater will offer dynamic seating that allows for easy transformation into multiple configurations, reflecting the flexibility of the space.

The development of this new theater at Monte Carlo creates opportunities for two beloved shows within the MGM Resorts family to get back to their roots, returning to the properties where they first wowed Las Vegas audiences:

Blue Man Group
Blue Man Group will move to Luxor this fall, returning to the property where they initially took Las Vegas by storm. The new venue, currently home to Jabbawockeez, will allow Blue Man Group the ability to transform its production into a custom entertainment experience built for maximum impact, with the action and spectacle closer than ever before.

“We have a strong affection for Luxor and are thrilled to return to this one-of-a-kind property,” said Phil Stanton, Blue Man Group Co-Founder. “We always embrace the opportunity to update and reimagine our show.  At Luxor, we’ll have the ideal theater perfect for a completely immersive, multi-sensory experience. We plan to bring the intimacy of our New York City show and the spectacle of Las Vegas to our new home at Luxor.”

Hornbuckle said, “There are some things you just know are right, and Blue Man Group coming home to Luxor is a great win for us.”

Jabbawockeez
Jabbawockeez will take its dynamic mix of jaw-dropping choreography, music and special effects to MGM Grand, the city’s nightlife and entertainment leader. They will perform in the newly renovated theater currently occupied by Beacher’s Madhouse, where  legendary Vegas showman Jeff Beacher will continue to bring his outrageous and over the top Beacher’s Madhouse shows every Saturday night.

“We’re honored to be heading back to MGM Grand – it’s a really special place for us. What began as a limited engagement has grown into an incredible experience headlining on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Jabbawockeez CEO and Co-Founder Phil Tayag. “The energy there is reaching new heights and we plan on playing off that vibe and taking things to a whole new level for our fans.”

Scott Sibella, President and COO of MGM Grand,  said, “We’re thrilled to bring Jabbawockeez home to MGM Grand, where they launched in Las Vegas in 2010. Their unparalleled energy and style are a perfect complement to MGM’s renowned nightlife scene. Coupling that with the raw fun and craziness of Beacher’s Madhouse, the entertainment scene at MGM Grand will be off the charts.”

ABOUT ANDRÉ ROCHAT
Rochat was born in the French Alps where his family owned a charcuterie shop in the village of La Rochette. After learning the business—beginning at the age of five—he left home at 14 to apprentice at Leon de Lyon, the renowned Michelin two-star restaurant in the heart of Lyon.

In 1965, Rochat departed his native France, arriving in Boston with a set of knives in his suitcase and $5 in his pocket. After cooking at several East Coast, he eventually landed in Las Vegas. In 1973, he opened a successful business, Savoy French Bakery, after observing the absence of an authentic French boulangerie in Las Vegas.

In 1978, he purchased a 1930s-era house in downtown Las Vegas and transformed it into his eponymous restaurant, which reimagined the ambience of a French country inn.

As the only freestanding gourmet option at the time, Andre’s quickly became a hit with locals and tourists alike. The restaurant made such an impact, the city of Las Vegas honored Rochat for his contribution to the community by renaming the street to Chef André Rochat Place.

In 1997, Rochat opened a second location on the Strip, Andre’s Restaurant and Lounge at Monte Carlo. By 2001, he opened Alizé at the Top of Palms Casino Resort. In 2008 and 2009, both Alizé and Andre’s were recognized by the Michelin Guide with the one-star rating.

“I’m not a celebrity chef. I just love to cook,” says Rochat.

ABOUT ANDRE ROCHAT
Rochat was born in the French Alps w here his family owned a charcuterie shop in the village of La Rochette.
