Last night (Friday, July 12), Criss Angel and his cast and crew commemorated the 100th performance of Criss Angel MINDFREAK® at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. After the show’s finale, which is hailed as the greatest illusion of all time by his peers, the superstar magician was surprised on stage with a MINDFREAK-themed cake presented by his proud partners at Caesars Entertainment and BASE Entertainment. During the celebratory moment, the packed house was on their feet to applaud the MINDFREAK team’s milestone and Criss made a few remarks expressing his gratitude and thanking his fans for their overwhelming support.

Criss Angel MINDFREAK, which opened last December, marks Criss’ triumphant return to Planet Hollywood where he filmed the first two seasons of his acclaimed television series MINDFREAK. Criss Angel Debuts Themed Patient Exam Room at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

 

World-renowned illusionist and the biggest name in magic, Criss Angel is the latest Las Vegas headliner to sponsor a themed patient exam room at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

Angel, Shaunyl Benson and their five-year-old son Johnny Crisstopher, who endured his own three-year battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, revealed the themed patient exam room together on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

“Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is an organization close to my heart and as an ally to those affected by pediatric cancer, I am grateful for any opportunity I have to get involved,” said Angel. “Having a calm and colorful patient exam room is so important throughout a child’s treatment plan so I’m honored to be able to sponsor this latest addition to the clinic.”

The kid-friendly themes and colorful artwork used to cover the walls of the exam room are loosely based on elements incorporated into Criss Angel MINDFREAK at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. In honor of those affected by pediatric cancer, Angel’s immersive theater includes handprints provided by Cure 4 The Kids Foundation patients.

This will be Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s second themed patient exam room in the clinic. Las Vegas artist Juan Muniz will again create the one-of-a-kind illustrations that will help entertain and inspire young patients who are often required to have weekly or monthly doctor visits as part of their treatment.  Muniz’s illustrations include a caricature of Criss Angel, tree, and handprints representing those being treated at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

“Criss Angel has been a strong and consistent supporter of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation,” said Annette Logan-Parker, president and CEO of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “Even before his own son was diagnosed with cancer, Criss was an advocate for the needs of childhood cancer patients in Southern Nevada. His support has helped our organization provide treatment to the most vulnerable in our community.”

A long-time supporter of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, Angel has attended Circus Couture, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s largest fundraiser, and has donated six figure contributions during the live auction to garner further awareness and provide additional support.

All illustrations and artwork in the Criss Angel-themed exam room must be incorporated around the necessary medical equipment in the room and special considerations are also made, including the use of microbial resistant glossy paint that allows the room to be cleaned and sterilized.

Southern Nevada’s leading construction and heavy equipment firms will welcome hundreds of valley families to the first annual Construction vs. Cancer event with the American Cancer Society on February 10, 2018 at Symphony Park. The event offers pediatric cancer survivors, and their supporters, the chance to operate “yellow iron” – heavy equipment – with an assist from professional operators. Many of southern Nevada’s largest construction and mining companies have stepped forward to underwrite the event which raises funds to provide programs and services for individuals with all types of cancer and to fund cancer research.
World-renowned entertainer Criss Angel will make an appearance, and be given the American Cancer Society Compassionate Heart Award, presented by Barrick, for his tireless dedication to advancing cancer research. The MINDFREAK LIVE! creator and star will receive the award during special ceremonies at Construction vs. Cancer event stage.
Additional attractions will include a performance by MGM Grand dance artists, Jabbawockeez, displays with LVMPD patrol cars for up-close-and-personal experiences.
Known for large scale construction and heavy equipment, Las Vegas Paving took a leadership role in the launch of the event, and was soon joined by Nevada’s leading heavy construction firms to establish a world class experience for children of all ages. The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, February 10, at Symphony Park, 100 South City Parkway in Las Vegas.

Magician Criss Angel Provides Jaw-Dropping Donation

An incredible $272,095 was raised to support children facing cancer in Nevada at the 8th annual Circus Couture “PRYSM” event on Friday, September 29, 2017, at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas.

Thanks to the gracious and enthusiastic community support of Circus Couture, the event has raised a total of  $1.46 million over the past eight years for childhood cancer causes.

Circus Couture is a vibrant collection of performers, artists, costumers, fashion designers, makeup artists, models and technicians, who in their professional lives work in many of Las Vegas’ well-known production shows. In the months leading up to Circus Couture, this group of talented participants dedicate their off-hours to rehearsals, meetings, fittings and collaborative sessions to make the one-night event a success.

Proceeds from Circus Couture “PRSYM” benefit the Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, the state’s only nonprofit outpatient treatment center for children affected by cancer and many other life-threatening conditions.

One of the heart-stopping moments during Circus Couture’s live auction occurred when magician Criss Angel of MINDFREAK® LIVE at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, bid $100,000 for a painting envisioned by Taylor H. a patient of the Children’s Specialty Center.  The painting on canvas was a collaboration between Taylor and KD Matheson and Alex P. Huerta.

Other noteworthy auction items included:

  • Dream Dinner for 25 people donated and catered by celebrity chef Johnny Church; $20,000
  • Hand sculpted metal and glass “PRYSM Warrior” created by Larry and Barbara Domsky of Domsky Glass; $4,000

  • A year’s worth of Krispy Kreme doughnuts donated by Feel Good Brands; $1,200

“Everyone who has supported us through the years represents a hue of compassion and you all matter sincerely to the families that count on that light,” said Erica Linz, President of Circus Couture and co-founder of the event. “It is with great admiration that we have watched you take something that could swallow light and instead insist on creating rainbows. For eight years it has been our privilege to celebrate the many hues that color the kiddo’s fight with hope. Thank you.”

The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, a program of Cure 4 the Kids Foundation, is the only outpatient clinic in Nevada which treats children diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  No child is ever turned away from treatment for financial reasons, including those without medical insurance and those unable to pay for treatment.

The Children’s Specialty Center is also a member of the Children’s Oncology Group, a collaborative association of the country’s leading childhood cancer treatment centers and physicians. This allows Nevada patients to enroll in appropriate clinical trials, which have helped to dramatically improve childhood cancer treatment over the years.

Berger & Son Fine Jewelers, a premier destination for one-of-a-kind fine jewelry and timepieces, began construction on a new location that’s more than double in size of the existing store. As the longest-running independent retailer in Fashion Show Las Vegas, owner and designer Stuart Berger has earned industry-wide recognition and become a successful local business despite recessions, mall buyouts and big chain competition. But what’s most exciting is Berger’s newest venture – a new location debuting in December with an extensive new line of jewelry, timepieces, and services.

Through the years, Berger & Son has maintained a strong local and tourist following. Inspired by an ornate chandelier that will appear in the middle of the store, the color schematic includes white, cream, light grey and marble. This unique, cutting-edge store will raise the bar for competition by featuring an exclusive VIP parlor with private service for jewelry design consultations. In addition, Berger & Son will now feature a full time on-premise jeweler and watchmaker for custom designs, repairs and appraisals.

To handle the architectural and interior design, Berger & Son has appointed renowned jewelry store designer Ron Harris with Watt International Design Group, an internationally recognized retail design firm that has designed such award-winning properties as Goldsmiths in the UK, Charm Diamond Centres and The Vault in Canada. Harris plans to enhance Berger & Son’s brand presence with a retail concept that will drive growth, improve visual merchandising and increase the quantity of in-store displays, offering a superior customer experience. The new store is scheduled to open during the first week of December, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Last night (Friday, November 9) Cirque du Soleil proudly celebrated the Las Vegas premiere of its newest resident show Zarkanaat ARIA Resort & Casino™ at CityCenter.

The show follows Zark, the ringmaster of an extraordinary circus coming back to life, as he guides us in an abandoned theatre populated by a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats. Zarkana is a visual vortex set in a twisted acrobatic fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to a true celebration.

Celebrities joining the night’s red carpet event and after-party at HAZE Nightclub included actor Emmy award-winning actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), director Francis Ford Coppola, actor Matt Lanter (90210), actress Dot Jones (Glee), actor Harry Shum Jr (Glee), actor Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class), Dj ASHBA (Recording Artist), Mark Foster (Recording Artist), magician/illusionist Criss Angel, actor Omar Benson Miller (CSI:Miami), comedian Carrot Top, entertainers Siegfried & Roy,  the Zarkana creative team including François Girard (Writer & Director), Nick Littlemore (Composer & Musical Director) and Cirque du Soleil’s President and CEO Daniel Lamarre.

Back by popular demand, Cirque du Soleil presents the second annual CIRQUE WEEK, offering fans the experience of a lifetime with access to a 10-day series of exclusive events. Cirque du Soleil is known worldwide for its unique entertainment experiences featuring high flying acrobats, whimsical characters and state-of-the-art technology. CIRQUE WEEK offers fans the opportunity to get an all-access look into how these extraordinary shows come to life nightly. CIRQUE WEEK packages range from $165 for a two-show ticket package to $561 which includes tickets to all seven Cirque du Soleilproductions in Las Vegas.

The finale of KÀ – the gravity-defying battle between good and evil – has been undergoing a major transformation for more than a year, preparing for the addition of new characters to the scene. Members of the cast, artistic and technical teams will discuss what it takes to make such a large change to the show after more than six years and 3,000 performances.

9 Group and Palms Casino Resort Celebrity Sightings: Shaqs Retirement Party with DJ Pauly D and Mark Sanchez

Shaq and his friends dined at Nove Italiano inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday night. Chef Geno prepared a great menu for them, family style consisting of his Nana’s meatballs, Shrimp Franchise, Federal Hill Calamari, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Chicken Parmigiana. For dessert, Chef Geno brought out Nove’s dessert platter for them. They absolutely loved everything, especially the marscapone cheesecake. Before heading out to Moon, Shaq went to Geno’s office to sign his famous shakedown door and take a picture with him. He said they all had a great time at Nove Italiano.

After dinner Shaq headed to celebrate his retirement party at Moon Nightclub inside the Palms Casino Resort. Shaq along with family and friends had a VIP table and enjoyed Dom and Patron. Shaq was on the Mic for about 30 minutes and had DJ Exodus do a tribute to Michael Jackson and the packed crowd at Moon sang along. Shaq and his fans enjoyed a tribute reel of his career highlights through the years that was played on screens throughout the club. Caked Las Vegas prepared an amazing cake for Shaq that included the Superman logo.

New York Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez stopped by to say hello to Shaq as did Illusionist Criss Angel. Palms resident DJ Pauly D topped off his weekend launch at Moon Nightclub in front of a packed and passionate crowd.

Earlier in the night Mark Sanchez had dinner with some friends at N9NE steakhouse.
