On August 20, 2016, PADRES CONTRA EL CÁNCER (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families, will celebrate its 16th annual fundraising event, the ‘El SUEÑO DE EPSERANZA’ CELEBRATION, in partnership with The Venetian® Las Vegas.

 

The ‘El Sueño de Esperanza’ is a weekend long celebration of HOPE providing supporters, sponsors and guests with different opportunities during their stay in Las Vegas.  Depending on the level of support, individuals will receive tickets to see “BAZ – Star Crossed Love,” a spa treatment at Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, tickets to the ‘El Sueño de Esperanza’ award ceremony, entry to the official after party at TAO® Nightclub, and a departing brunch at Morels French Bistro & Steakhouse.

 

The award ceremony will be a white attire event, chaired by actress, activist, producer, director, and PADRES national spokesperson, EVA LONGORIA. Longoria will be joined by: event co-chair, Peter R. Villegas, Vice President of Latin Affairs for The Coca-Cola Company; actor, comedian GEORGE LOPEZ who will serve as the evening’s master of ceremonies; and a special performance will be given by singer-songwriter, PRINCE ROYCE.

 

On this special evening, the organization will honor the legendary, CARLOS SANTANA with the Ruby Oliva Cedillo Tribute Award. This prestigious award recognizes an individual who best exemplifies PADRES’ guiding values and core ideals – honesty, character, integrity, respect, commitment to community and service to humanity.

Legendary Casino Entertainer Comes to Global Gaming Expo for Industry’s Top Honor

 

 

Comedic legend Jerry Lewis will be presented the Casino Entertainment Legend award by “Mr. Las Vegas” Wayne Newton at the Global Gaming Expo’s (G2E) third annual Casino Entertainment Awards on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 inside Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

 

Veteran casino entertainment executive H. C. Rowe, AEG Live’s Executive Director of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, also will be honored with a Casino Entertainment Legend Award.

 

Presented by G2E and the American Gaming Association (AGA), the Casino Entertainment Awards are the only awards exclusively honoring outstanding artists, executives and venues in the casino entertainment industry. The Casino Entertainment Legend Awards recognize lifetime achievement in the casino entertainment industry.

 

With worldwide box office receipts in excess of $800 million (when most tickets were sold for 25-50 cents) – Lewis achieved global acclaim for his groundbreaking comedy. He rose to fame as a Las Vegas headliner in the 1950s and was the world’s top box office star 1952-56 with Dean Martin and 1957-64 solo. A dedicated philanthropist, Lewis raised more than $2 billion for muscular dystrophy patient care and research; for 28 years, the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon was broadcast from Las Vegas.

 

H.C. Rowe experience as an entertainment industry veteran spans over three decades. Las Vegas Arena Company, owned by AEG and MGM RESORTS INTERNATIONAL (NYSE: MGM), broke ground today on a world-class, privately funded, $375 million indoor arena set to open in spring 2016. Located west of the Las Vegas Strip, between New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts, the new 20,000-seat arena will host boxing , UFC and other sporting events, major headline entertainment, awards shows and special events.

Designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s standards for LEED® Gold Certification, the arena will feature 50 luxury suites, more than two dozen private loge boxes and other specially designed exclusive hospitality offerings never before featured in a facility of its kind.

Beginning today, The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino welcomes a new era of fan-friendly ticketing with the transitioning of the venue’s ticketing services to AXS Ticketing (pronounced access).

Develop New Las Vegas Arena

Populous Chosen as Architect of Record

  

AEG and MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) have completed and executed transactional agreements formalizing the details of the previously announced joint venture to build a new arena project, which will be the centerpiece of a complete revitalization of the area between New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts, extending from Las Vegas Blvd. to Frank Sinatra Drive. They have selected Populous, designers of many of the world’s most memorable sports, concert and entertainment venues as the Architect of Record and designer for the new approximately 20,000-seat indoor arena.

The arena is expected to break ground in summer 2014, with the grand opening projected for spring 2016. The project is anticipated to cost approximately $350 million and be financed with equity contributions from each of the partners as well as privately funded third-party financing.

“Finalizing our agreement with AEG and selecting Populous, a world-class design firm, as the architect of this project are both important milestones in this process,” said Jim Murren, MGM Resorts International Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The combination of MGM and AEG, along with the excellent Las Vegas Strip location, is already driving interest from potential investors in this exciting new development.”

Populous is underway creating designs for the state-of-the-art arena set to become Las Vegas’ premier destination for sporting events, major headline entertainment and special events that will drive significant visitation and revenue to Las Vegas. The venue will feature a variety of unique premium seating offerings as well as other hospitality areas for entertaining and private events.

The indomitable Widespread Panic has announced dates for their highly anticipated 2013 Summer Tour. After a year-long hiatus Widespread Panic returns for their summer trek, which has become an annual pilgrimage for thousands of fans. The ultimate rock band will make a stop along with special guest Dirty Dozen Brass Band at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for two amazing performances Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13. Tickets go on sale next Friday, March 8 at 10am.
The band’s most recent release is a special edition 3LP boxed set and double live cd entitled Wood.  Wood featured entirely acoustic live performances recorded at four select intimate venues in 2012 and were very well received by both the press and fans.

Widespread Panic is known as a national touring force and continues to hold attendance records at major venues across the country including Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Birmingham, AL and Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA.  They are a mainstay at many major U.S. festivals, having headlined 10 nights on the main stage at Bonnaroo. This year Widespread Panic will be making stops at The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Wakarusa in Ozark, AK and Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY.  The band still holds the single one-day attendance record for New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival – 63,000 in 1999.

For over ten years Widespread Panic has been dedicated to making their concerts “food drive events.”  Since Summer 2008 the charity Feeding People Through Music has raised over $50,000 in monetary donations and over 6,000 pounds of food.  Since each dollar donated is worth seven meals, these events have bought over 350,000 meals.

In honor of Las Vegas’ first hard rock residency, “Mötley Crüe in Sin City,” Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman has proclaimed Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 as “Mötley Crüe” Day. The world’s most notorious band performs a series of shows at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Feb. 3 – 19.

“Mötley Crüe in Sin City” will leave the loud impression that what happens in Las Vegas will be heard around the world.  Vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee will present an incredibly interactive experience created exclusively for Sin City.
