New Season to Feature Nation’s Best Dancers Between Ages of 18 and 30

Auditions to be Held in New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas

FOX has renewed the Emmy Award-winning dance competition series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for a 16th season. From Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will return this summer on FOX.

“Each season, the talent on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE reaches new levels and continues to create the most incredible routines,” said Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Broadcasting Company. “The hard work and passion that goes into each performance is awe-inspiring. We can’t wait to see what Season 16 has in store and look forward to bringing you a new crop of incredible, inspired and inspiring dancers.”

“I am thrilled that we have been picked up by FOX for Season 16 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE,” said executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. “This allows us to shine the spotlight once again on the incredible choreographic and dance talent across the United States as we search for America’s favorite dancer.”

Auditions for the 16th season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE kick off next month. Dancers can audition online by registering and uploading a video, or providing a link to a video of their performance, at https://soyouthinkyoucandance2019season16.castingcrane.com/. Selected dancers will be invited to attend auditions in New York (Feb. 9), Dallas (Feb. 12) and Los Angeles (Feb. 23). The dancers selected will be invited to Los Angeles to perform for the judges.

Dancers either must be U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents of the U.S. or possess current legal Employment Authorization Cards enabling them to seek employment freely in the U.S. (i.e., without restrictions as to employer) by the date specified in the eligibility rules. Dancers must be no younger than 18 or older than 30 years of age on the day of their in-person auditions. Dancers must provide legal, valid proof of age when they register for auditions.

The deadline to register online for a chance to audition in New York and Dallas is Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 at midnight PT. The deadline to register online for a chance to audition in Los Angeles is Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 at midnight PT.

FOX has renewed the Emmy Award-winning SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for a 15th season. From 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will return this summer on FOX.  Emmy Award winner Nigel Lythgoe, award-winning choreographer Mary Murphy and award-winning actress, singer and dancer Vanessa Hudgens will return as resident judges on the series, hosted by Emmy Award nominee Cat Deeley.

And each week, they tell compelling, emotional stories through their craft. Auditions for the 15th season kick off next month. All potential contestants should register online at soyouthinkyoucandance2018.castingcrane.com/ and upload a video or provide a link to a video of their performance. If selected, producers will reach out to schedule the contestant for an in-person audition in one of the two audition cities: New York or Los Angeles. Dancers must be no younger than 18 or older than 30 years of age. Dancers must provide legal, valid proof of age when they register for auditions. During the audition rounds, the most talented dancers will compete in front of the judges for a coveted spot at “The Academy” callback rounds in Los Angeles. At the end of “The Academy” callback rounds, the judges will choose this season’s top dancers to move on in the competition. Those who are selected to move on to the SYTYCD studio will work with world-renowned choreographers and compete LIVE each week for America’s votes in a variety of styles. Contestants will be eliminated weekly until a winner is named on the season finale.

Last September, Lex Ishimoto was named the winner during the live two-hour season finale on FOX. Ishimoto, 19, danced off with the cash prize of $250,000, the cover of Dance Spirit magazine and the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. During the 2017 summer season, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE garnered more than 190 million video views and social engagements on leading social platforms.

Over the course of its 14 seasons, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has received 59 Emmy Award nominations and garnered 15 Emmy Award wins, including Outstanding Choreography for Travis Wall (2017, 2015); Mia Michaels (2011, 2010 and 2007); Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo (2014 and 2011); Tyce Diorio (2009); and Wade Robson (2008 and 2007). Inspirational Television Event Airs LIVE From New Orleans on
Palm Sunday, March 20, on FOX

Grammy Award-winning recording artist and singer/songwriter Seal has been cast in the role of Pontius Pilate in THE PASSION, a two-hour epic musical event airing LIVE from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Seal joins previously announced host and narrator Tyler Perry, and cast members Jencarlos Canela (Jesus Christ), Chris Daughtry (Judas), Prince Royce (the disciple Peter) and Trisha Yearwood (Mary, the mother of Jesus).

THE PASSION, written by Peter Barsocchini (“High School Musical”), tells the 2000-year-old story of the last hours of Jesus Christ’s life on earth through passages from the Bible and a variety of contemporary popular music, sung by the cast, and arranged specifically for this event by executive producer and hit music producer Adam Anders (“Glee,” “Rock of Ages”). Set in modern day, the event will follow the dramatic and inspirational story of Jesus of Nazareth, as he presides over the Last Supper, and then is betrayed by Judas, put on trial by Pontius Pilate, convicted, crucified and resurrected.

The event will unfold live at some of New Orleans’ most iconic locations, while featuring a procession of a thousand people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from outside the Mercedes Benz Superdome to the live stage at Woldenberg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River.

Since the beginning of his career, London-born multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Seal has been focused on a single creative pursuit: expressing the full experience of love through song. An established superstar, with worldwide album sales exceeding 30 million of his eight studio albums, Seal’s inimitable voice was first heard on Adamski’s 1991 club smash, “Killer,” followed by his Top 10 hit, “Crazy.” On the heels of his stunning debut album, he went on to win the prestigious BRIT Award for “Best British Male” in 1992, while hits like “Kiss From a Rose,” memorably included on the “Batman Forever” soundtrack, earned him multiple Grammy Awards and global esteem. In November, Seal released his ninth album, “7,” which reunites him with his longtime collaborator, producer Trevor Horn.

Award-winning percussion group Street Drum Corps was honored at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas with a memorabilia case on Thursday, Jan. 30.

The display includes items from the group’s five-month residency at Vinyl such as a drumhead, trashcan, bucket, washing machine and custom-made clothing items worn by Street Drum Corps’ founding members Bobby Alt, Adam Alt and Frank Zummo. Also featured in the display is a set of drumsticks used by Adrian Young of No Doubt, Roy Mayorga of Stone Sour, Shannon Larkin of Godsmack, Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe, Jose Pasillas of Incubus and Stephen Perkins of Jane’s Addiction while collaborating with Street Drum Corps.

Following the memorabilia case unveiling, the group celebrated with friends and family members inside the trendy hotspot The Ainsworth.

Street Drum Corps was named “2012 Drum Ensemble of the Year” by Drum Magazine and has been featured on MTV, VH1, FOX’s “American Idol” and many other major television shows and networks.

UFC GYM® announced today that it will partner with former two-division UFC champion and coach of the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter® BJ Penn to open a second signature fitness facility in the fighter’s home state of Hawaii. The fitness destination, which will begin enrolling members on September 24, 2013, is set to open for workouts early in 2014.  The gym will serve the Central and Leeward Oahu community and will be located in the Waikele Center at 94-875 Lumiana Street, Suite 15, Waipahu, HI.

“Jon Jones has destroyed all the top guys in the light heavyweight division,” UFC President Dana White said. “He has defended the title four times and is one of the pound-for-pound best in the world. This fight with Chael is personal! Chael called Jones out and said a lot of things about him. Chael always comes to fight and I’m very interested in this matchup.”

“There’s a rumor going around that says Jon Jones is the best,” Sonnen said. “We’re going to find out who wins – the best or the baddest?”

“The rumors are true, I am the best,” Jones, who won the title at Prudential Center in March 2011 by defeating then-champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, said. “On April 27th, Chael will be put through the test. When it’s all said and done, he’ll be just like the rest.”
