Nevada Reading Week 2015 March 2 – 6
Donated books will be personally delivered by King to kids in at-risk schools during Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour: Nevada Reading Week 2015. Each year during Nevada Reading Week, King visits students at local elementary schools to teach the importance of literacy by reading stories and performing tricks from his show. Thanks to book drives held throughout the year, at the end of the assembly, each child is able to take a book home with them. For many kids this is the first book they can call their own. Local businesses and organizations interested in joining forces with Mac King by hosting a book drive to benefit Nevada Reading Week 2015 can email Lauren@preferredpublicrelations.com for more information.

About Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour:
Comedy-Magician Mac King has been a life-long advocate for childhood literacy and since settling down in Las Vegas, has made it his mission to promote literacy in Southern Nevada.

For years King has visited local elementary schools, spreading the importance of literacy to local students. In 2011 King decided to take his philanthropic efforts to the next level and launched Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour, a citywide literacy initiative to foster the love of reading and rally community organizations to raise books for Las Vegas school children.

The tour kicked off during Nevada Reading Week 2011 and since then has collected more than 10,000 books by partnering with several local organizations including: Las Vegas Wranglers, Springs Preserve, Winder Farms, Sky Zone Las Vegas, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and Las Vegas 51’s Baseball Team.

02.09.14 Blue Man Group Wins Access Health Dental's 'Smile of the Game' During Las Vegas Wranglers Match

BLUE MAN GROUP SUPPORTS LAS VEGAS WRANGLERS WITH ONE-OF-A-KIND PERFORMANCE OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM ON SUNDAY, FEB. 9

Blue Man Group took the ice at Orleans Arena to kick off the Las Vegas Wranglers’ hockey game against the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday, Feb. 9. The famous trio wowed the audience with its unique rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The energetic composition was complete with Blue Man Group’s signature PVC pipe harmonies and flair as red, white and blue streamers shot out of the instruments onto the ice.

Following the performance, the Blue Men stayed to cheer on the Wranglers while interacting with players as well as the crowd on the arena’s big screen. The three were seen posing for photos with guests, dancing, popping in during on-screen interviews and more. To top off the afternoon, Blue Man Group was chosen as Access Health Dental’s “Smile of the Game” at the end of the third period (image attached).

For more information on the Las Vegas Wranglers, visit www.lasvegaswranglers.com or call 702.471.PUCK (7825).

Jump On Board Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour: Nevada Reading Week 2014

Donate new and gently used children’s books at partnering locations throughout the valley
to receive great offers this February

Harrah’s Headliner and Comedy-Magician Mac King invites the public to jump on board Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour: Nevada Reading Week 2014, benefiting Clark County READS, the literacy initiative of The Public Education Foundation. Throughout the month of February, King is partnering with the Las Vegas Wranglers, Sky Zone Las Vegas, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and Galaxy Theatres locations in Las Vegas to collect books for elementary school children in local at-risk schools. Donate three or more new or gently used children’s books at partnering locations to receive a pair of tickets to The Mac King Comedy Magic Show in addition to other exclusive rewards from the host venue.

For four days beginning March 4–7, during Nevada Reading Week 2014, King will make appearances at four select local elementary schools to teach the importance of reading and personally deliver the books collected from the book drive. During the tour’s scheduled stops, King will perform tricks from his show, read a few short stories and deliver a book to each student to keep.

“Since the tour began in 2011, my pals from around the Las Vegas community and I have put more than 7,500 books in the hands of kids in at-risk schools in the Valley. This year the tour has grown bigger than ever with even more of my partners on-board to collect books and further enrich the lives of children through reading,” said King. “Join Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour by making a donation and help us make 2014 a year for the books!”

The tour kicked off during Nevada Reading Week 2011 and since then has collected more than 7,500 books by partnering with several local organizations including: Las Vegas Wranglers, Springs Preserve, Winder Farms, Sky Zone Las Vegas, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and Las Vegas 51’s Baseball Team.

About Mac King:
Now in his 14th year of headlining afternoons at Harrah’s Las Vegas, Comedy-Magician Mac King captivates audiences as he casts out a fishing line over their heads and catches live goldfish out of mid-air, performs amazing sleights-of-hand, makes his head completely disappear in a paper bag, and renders himself invisible, all while remaining unbelievably funny. Because of his quick wit and extensive audience interaction, no two shows are alike.

Sought after worldwide, King has made television appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and all five of NBC’s “The World’s Greatest Magic” TV specials. Consistently recommended by fellow magicians, Teller of Penn & Teller fame, said about King “The best comedy magician in Vegas. He’ll fool you with his fantastically original tricks…” in a recent Wall Street Journal article. He has been recognized with numerous accolades including “Best Las Vegas Show” in the 2012 About.com Reader’s Choice Awards. Las Vegas Review-Journal named his show the “Best Bargain Show” for ten straight years (2003-2013), “Best Family Attraction” in 2012, and “Favorite Male Las Vegan” in 2008. In 2011, he was deemed “Best Strip Headliner” in the Las Vegas Weekly’s “Best Of” Awards. King, a past NBC-TV “The World’s Greatest Magic Shows” regular, has also been decorated as Magic Magazine’s “Funniest Act in Magic,” the World Magic Awards’ “Best Comedy Magician” and the Magic Castle’s “Magician of the Year.”

King, one of today’s brightest and most talented magicians, takes the stage twice daily, Tuesday through Saturday, at Harrah’s Las Vegas at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Showroom Theatre. Tickets are $29.95 plus tax. Additional information on The Mac King Comedy Magic Show can be found by visiting www.mackingshow.com.

It may not be part of the official 2013 Las Vegas Wranglers training camp, but many of the hockey players are undergoing a test of courage this week. Today and Tuesday, October 8, 2013, several Wranglers are exchanging their hockey pads and gear for a jumpsuit as they experience SkyJump at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. SkyJump, the highest controlled descent in the world, offers willing participants an adrenaline-packed, 45-mile-an-hour drop from the 108th floor to the Las Vegas Strip.

Among those scheduled to jump on Monday: Mike Baran, Adam Huxley, Geoff Irwin, Brian Nugent, Cody Purves and Travis Fullerton. Tuesday’s jump list includes: Bryan Doerrsam, Robbie Smith, Chad Nehring, Alex Mentick and staff member Jeff Maxwell. Additional players, still working up their courage, may also jump. The public is invited to a special autograph session on Tuesday at Noon in the Stratosphere casino near the Sports Book. The Duke, the Wrangler’s mascot will also be at the autograph session.

Las Vegas Wranglers to Play “Topless” Hockey on Feb. 4th

This Monday, Feb. 4, marks the Las Vegas Wranglers’ fourth annual “Over 18 Night.” The unforgettable night kicks off at 9:05 p.m. at Orleans Arena and will feature lots of skin and laughs as the popular ECHL team plays the Colorado Eagles. Already branded for their outrageous style, the Wranglers are making history by claiming the title of the world’s first topless professional hockey team.

Sponsored by the newest hot spot at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Sin City Comedy, the specialty jersey features a bare chest, sculpted abs, and the Wranglers crest tattooed over the right pectoral. Adorning the shoulders are a “topless hockey” and Wranglers word mark, with light arm hair filling out the details. The jerseys will be auctioned on the concourse through the end of the second intermission, and one fan will win a topless jersey off a player’s back at the end of the second period.

No stranger to pushing the limits, Wranglers President and Chief Operating Officer, Billy Johnson states, “The guys have never looked to be in better shape.”

In addition to the risqué jerseys, Sin City Comedy will also provide guests top-notch entertainment throughout the night by showcasing the talents of their nationally known comedians.

Wranglers fans will also receive a special $5 ticket at Sin City Comedy when they present a ticket stub. This offer is only valid until the end of the season.

Tickets are available at www.lasvegaswranglers.com or by calling (702) 471-PUCK.
