Grammy Award Winner Sheena Easton Returns to the Suncoast Showroom Jan. 21-22

Multi-talented entertainer Sheena Easton will bring three decades’ worth of hits to the Suncoast Showroom on Jan. 21-22.

Easton burst onto the music scene in 1981 when her hit single “9 to 5” peaked at #3 on the U.K. charts and was certified Gold, before topping the charts in the United States. Her third studio album, entitled “You Could Have Been with Me,” went on to achieve Gold designation while the title track reached as high as #6 on the charts. That same year, Easton won her first Grammy Award for Best New Artist. The following year, her performance of the theme song for the James Bond film of the same name – “For Your Eyes Only” – was nominated for an Academy Award.

Easton continued her success throughout the 1980’s, recording the #1 hit “We’ve Got Tonight” with Kenny Rogers in 1983 and winning another Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance in 1984. Easton continued to release hit songs as the years went on, including “The Lover in Me,” “101,” “What Comes Naturally” and more.

In addition to her success on the charts, Scottish-born Easton has toured all around the world, including Canada, China, Thailand, Singapore and Japan. Throughout her career, she has sold more than 20 million albums and singles worldwide.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. each night. Tickets start at $27 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000; online at www.suncoastcasino.com; or in-person at gift shops inside The Orleans, Suncoast, Gold Coast and Sam’s Town. Award-Winning Entertainer Debby Boone Brings “Swing This” to the Suncoast Showroom Dec. 9-10

“You Light Up My Life” songstress and multi-talented entertainer Debby Boone will return to the Suncoast Showroom with “Swing This,” her captivating new performance, on Dec. 9-10.

In 1977, Boone’s career took off when her song “You Light Up My Life” topped the Billboard chart for 10 consecutive weeks and won her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2008, Billboard’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Chart-Topping Songs ranked Boone’s song at #7.

Following the success of the single, Boone displayed her versatility as an artist and crossed over to country music. She won the Academy of Country Music award for Top New Female Vocalist in 1977 and recorded many popular country songs, including “In Memory of Your Love” and a cover of Connie Francis’ “My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own.”

In 1978, Boone starred in her first film, playing “Della” in the musical adaptation of “The Gift of The Magi.” She took her show-stopping performances to stage in many more musicals, including a run as “Rizzo” in the Broadway version of “Grease,” and “Maria” in “The Sound of Music.”

In June 2013, Boone released her 13th album, “Swing This,” which combines songs and experiences from the golden era of Las Vegas during the 1960’s, when her father Pat Boone performed at the Sands and Sahara hotels.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are available from $17.50 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000, online at www.suncoastcasino.com, or in-person at gift shops inside The Orleans, Suncoast, Gold Coast and Sam’s Town. Lena Prima Brings “Old Vegas & New Orleans!” to the Suncoast Showroom Aug. 20

lena

Lena Prima, the youngest daughter of music legend Louis Prima, will bring her musical celebration “Old Vegas & New Orleans!” to the Suncoast Showroom Aug. 20.

“Old Vegas & New Orleans!” honors Lena Prima’s musical roots, with a set list that includes her own songs and ballads; jazz and New Orleans classics; and her father’s timeless hits.

Born in Las Vegas to the famous singer-songwriter and classically trained singer Gia Maione Prima, Lena Prima grew up on stage singing, dancing and touring with her parents during her summer vacations. She graduated from Clark High School in Las Vegas and continued her education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she studied art, music and dance. Singing became her full-time career in 1991 when she began touring with two bands.

In 2000, she began a two-year engagement of “Louis Prima, That’s My Dad!” at the Sahara Hotel and Casino where her father performed in the early 1950s. With five albums to her name, Lena Prima has performed on stages throughout the country and was praised by the Chicago Tribune, “A standing ovation…Lena has the panache of her father.”

An avid supporter of Italian-American causes, she recently served as the Grand Marshal of the St. Joseph’s Day Italian Parade in New Orleans and has headlined more than 50 Italian-American festivals around the country.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $15.95, plus tax and convenience fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.284.7777 or visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
