THE GREATEST PIANO MEN, the electrifying production that celebrates the world’s greatest pianists and showmen including Elton John, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard — all the way to Beethoven and Liberace, will perform from March 26-April 21 at Flamingo Las Vegas.

 

THE GREATEST PIANO MEN features four remarkable pianists/singers: creative director/producer Donnie Kehr, Greg Ransom, Peter Peterkin and Stephen “Hoops” Snyder, who team up to take the audience on a musical journey through history’s most influential and talented piano icons. In addition, the show features a seven-piece backing band, video and storytelling all of which combines for a thrilling 90-minute celebration featuring 25 hit songs.

Greg Bonham Returns to The Smith Center With G’Day Las Vegas

 

Australian entertainer Greg Bonham returns to Las Vegas and the stage at the Cabaret Jazz room inside The Smith Center on Saturday, June 10 at 7 p.m. with “G’Day Las Vegas.” As his third return to the entertainment capital of the world, Bonham will capture audiences with his soulful voice and sizzling trumpet skills, performing songs from Maynard Ferguson to U2 and Eric Clapton, with classic hits including “Hallelujah” alongside Bonham’s emotionally charged original songs.

Accompanied by his eight-piece superstar band, and award-winning pianist, Ryan Ahern who will open the show and perform renditions of famous tunes by Jerry Lee Lewis, Boogie-Woogie, Queen and Ray Charles.

Before America came calling, Bonham was a farm boy from Australia who rose to fame from Australian and UK television appearances and selling more than 14 million records in Russia. He now performs all across the United States and is excited to return to The Smith Center in Las Vegas.

Often backed by his talented music students, LaSpina performs hits the entertainers are most known for, interspersed with anecdotes and rare clips of the original star’s interviews and performances. A professional performer since his teens, LaSpina has also toured the country as a nightclub performer and gained a prominent reputation as a sought-after singing teacher. His career further includes years of success as a radio and TV talk show host. LaSpina’s shows in Las Vegas always benefit the charity he co-founded, the Musical Arts Scholarship Program.

Award-winning Songstress Rita Coolidge to Perform at the Suncoast Showroom June 21-22

Two-time Grammy® Award winner Rita Coolidge will perform many of her top hits at the Suncoast Showroom June 21 and 22.

Coolidge began her career as a backing vocalist in Memphis in the 1960s. Shortly thereafter, she relocated to Los Angeles and became the first call background singer for performers like Ray Charles, Jackie Wilson and The Temptations. After establishing her dominance as a backing vocalist, Coolidge was asked to join the ensemble band Delaney and Bonnie, and toured with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell on the “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” tour in 1970. Following, Coolidge worked with high profile rock artists, including tours and recordings with Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell and Stephen Stills.

Later, Coolidge began her solo career with her self-titled debut album in 1971. Since then, she has released 15 albums and charted several hit songs, including  “Fever,” “We’re All Alone,” “One Fine Day,” “(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher & Higher,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “All Time High” and “Superstar.”

Coolidge has appeared in numerous movies, including “A Star Is Born,” “Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid,” “Vanishing Point” and “Christmas in the Clouds.”

The Smith Center Introduces Three Distinct Series Bringing the Best of Jazz, Classical and the New York Stage to Las Vegas

Subscriptions to all three series on sale to the public beginning July 15

 

 

From the best of jazz and most celebrated classical musicians to the biggest voices from the New York stages, The Smith Center brings three diverse series to Las Vegas from October 2013 through May 2014. The three series bring patrons on a journey deep into the heart of American music to see the masters perform right before their eyes or visit the New York stage without leaving Las Vegas.

The Smith Center’s popular “Jazz Roots” will be joined by two new series including “Classical & Beyond” featuring Renee Fleming, Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and the Academy of St. Martin & The Fields with Joshua Bell, among others, and “Best of the New York Stage” bringing the likes of Patti LuPone, Michael Feinstien and Audra McDonald and more to the stage.

As a series subscriber, patrons enjoy exclusive benefits including first access to best available seating, keeping the same seats throughout the duration of the season and saving 20 percent when compared to buying individual show tickets. On sale dates for individual tickets will be announced at a later date.
