Previously announced eight-time Golden Globe Award winner and fifteen-time nominee Tom Hanks will be the recipient of the 2020 Cecil B. deMille Award. Three-time Golden Globe Award nominee Ellen DeGeneres will receive the Carol Burnett Award. Dylan & Paris Brosnan will serve as this year’s Golden Globe Ambassadors.

“HFPA Presents Globes Red Carpet Live,” the two-hour pre-show produced by dick clark productions in association with the HFPA, will livestream exclusively on Facebook Watch from the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton. The pre-show will include celebrity arrivals, fashion, interviews and behind the scenes looks at Hollywood’s Party of the Year. The Vegas Strong Benefit Concert today announced that more than $700,000 was raised by the Dec. 1 all-star concert at T-Mobile Arena. Held in honor of the victims of the October 1 tragedy, the special event to benefit the Las Vegas Victims fund featured more than a dozen A-list entertainers and homegrown talent, drawing a capacity crowd of 12,000 guests.

 

“We are grateful for the outpouring of love from these icons of Las Vegas entertainment, who once again proved that our community stands as one to support the victims of this senseless tragedy,” said Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak, who organized the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund with Sheriff Joseph Lombardo.

 

The Las Vegas entertainment industry and close-knit local community united to produce the benefit, which featured live performances and heartfelt monologues from Las Vegas headliners, hometown stars and more. The full lineup included performances by The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Jay Leno, Boyz II Men, David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, Carrot Top, Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group; appearances by Bryce Harper, Kurt Busch, Wayne Newton; and recorded tributes from Celine Dion, Elton John, Jason Aldean, George Strait and the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

 

About the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund Committee:

The Las Vegas Victims’ Fund (“LVVF”) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation created to oversee the consolidation and distribution of funds contributed in response to the shootings at the site of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 1, 2017 (“1 October”). One hundred percent of the funds contributed to and distributed by the LVVF will go directly to the families of the decedents and the victims of 1 October. The LVVF is overseen by a committee consisting of 17 individuals representing the Las Vegas community. Engelbert Humperdinck will bring his 50th Anniversary Tour to The Orleans Showroom on Sept. 23-24.

In the mid-1960s, Humperdinck found early success in Europe with the hit single “Release Me,” which spent 56 weeks in the “Top 50” of the U.K. charts, and reached “No. 1” in 11 countries. Humperdinck followed-up the hit single with the ballads “There Goes My Everything” and “The Last Waltz.” In 1969, his self-titled album peaked at “No. 5” on both the U.S. and U.K. charts.

Legendary Casino Entertainer Comes to Global Gaming Expo for Industry’s Top Honor

 

 

Comedic legend Jerry Lewis will be presented the Casino Entertainment Legend award by “Mr. Las Vegas” Wayne Newton at the Global Gaming Expo’s (G2E) third annual Casino Entertainment Awards on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 inside Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

 

Veteran casino entertainment executive H. C. Rowe, AEG Live’s Executive Director of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, also will be honored with a Casino Entertainment Legend Award.

 

Presented by G2E and the American Gaming Association (AGA), the Casino Entertainment Awards are the only awards exclusively honoring outstanding artists, executives and venues in the casino entertainment industry. The Casino Entertainment Legend Awards recognize lifetime achievement in the casino entertainment industry.

 

With worldwide box office receipts in excess of $800 million (when most tickets were sold for 25-50 cents) – Lewis achieved global acclaim for his groundbreaking comedy. He rose to fame as a Las Vegas headliner in the 1950s and was the world’s top box office star 1952-56 with Dean Martin and 1957-64 solo. A dedicated philanthropist, Lewis raised more than $2 billion for muscular dystrophy patient care and research; for 28 years, the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon was broadcast from Las Vegas.

Production Designer – Michael Cotten
Michael Cotten’s unparalleled expertise in production design, theatrical staging, animation, electronic music, and graphic arts has garnered him a clientele that includes many of the world’s top performers and productions. Cotten designed the “History” tour for Michael Jackson in 1997 and when Jackson began planning his “This Is It” return to the stage for London’s O2 Dome in 2009 he again enlisted the talents of Cotten to design the extravaganza. Cotten is no stranger to Las Vegas and has lent his production and architectural talents to the city of Las Vegas with the “Sirens of TI” and Gloria Estefan’s “Live and Unwrapped” at Caesars Palace.

Costumier – Marc Bouwer
The creator of custom costumes, Marc Bouwer, will take Shania’s unforgettable fashion sense to play a major role in the telling of the show. After arriving in NYC from South Africa, he met fashion legend Halston. Under Halston, Bouwer refined his skills and became a master draper. Draping soon became the hallmark of Bouwer’s career—a distinction later dubbed “athletic glamour” by industry purveyors and international press. Marc’s innate sensibility, keen eye, and talent have landed him on the pages of revered international fashion publications and into the hearts of the world’s most glamorous and watched women. · Shania Twain, born Eilleen Regina Edwards, adopted the stage name “Shania” — an Ojibwa word meaning “I’m on my way.”  She was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and has been singing since she was eight years old.
