PHOTOS: 2nd Annual ACM Party for a Cause Festival – Fri. 2/4

On Friday, April 4th, the 2nd Annual ACM Party for a Cause Festival, hosted by Outnumber Hunger, kicked off at The LINQ featuring headliner Rascal Flatts. The “Outnumber Hunger Live!” concert  featured country hit-makers Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, Thomas Rhett, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, and The Cadillac Three. Plus Will Hoge, Chase Rice and Charlie Worsham who performed on the Party Stage. The surprise guest of the evening was legendary rock musician Vince Neil who performed with Justin Moore on the Motley Crue hit “Home Sweet Home.”

Friday’s “Outnumber Hunger Live!” concert series benefitted Outnumber Hunger, an initiative from General Mills, Big Machine Label Group and Feeding America that helps fight hunger in local communities. To date, Outnumber Hunger has helped secure more than 25 million meals for Feeding America’s network of local food banks.

The ACM Party for a Cause Festival will continue tonight with headliner Keith Urban. This event is part of The Week Vegas Goes Country® leading up to the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network. NATIONWIDE CLUB CONCERTS RAISE MORE THAN $36,000

FOR ACM LIFTING LIVES®

During the past three months, club shows around the country have collectively raised more than $36,000 for ACM Lifting Lives®, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music.  Shows featuring Josh Abbott, Wade Bowen, Kristian Bush, Tyler Farr, Kyle Park, Chase Rice, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Josh Thompson, Randy Rogers Band and The Swon Brothers donated a portion of ticket sales to ACM Lifting Lives, which will go to help fund organizations that are improving lives through the power of music.

Clubs included Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, TX, Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, TX, Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, GA, Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte, NC, Denim & Diamonds in Mesa, AZ and Wichita Falls, TX, Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown, OH, Joe’s Bar in Chicago, IL and Rockin Rodeo in Midland, TX.

“We are so thankful to have the support of the venues and country music artists who participated in this effort and provided nights of great live music to benefit ACM Lifting Lives,” said Ed Warm, ACM board member and co-owner of Joe’s Bar in Chicago, who played a part in helping to develop the fundraiser.

“As we look toward the future, the board set a goal this year to grow ACM Lifting Lives as a recognizable name and to promote what we do as an organization on a national level,” said ACM Lifting Lives Manager Hannah Martin. “We couldn’t be more proud of the success of these club benefit shows and with the continued support of club owners and artists across the country we are hopeful that this will be an annual initiative to spread our mission for years to come!”

As part of the initiative, fans who attended were encouraged to take a photo of their ticket and tweet it tagging @ACMAwards, using #ACMLiftingLivesBenefit.  One lucky fan won a trip to the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV via the Twitter contest.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Awards counts for artists reflect categories in which they have been recognized as individuals or as part of their duo or group. In some cases, an artist may receive more than one nomination which factors into their official count. For example, Tim McGraw received two nominations in the Album of the Year category—one each as artist and producer—because that category recognizes both.

Award recipients in each category are noted above parenthetically in the Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year.

First round fan voting for New Artist of the Year will begin at www.VoteACM.com and www.GACTV.com/ACM on Tuesday, Jan. 21tst at 12Noon ET, and will close on Tuesday, Feb. 4th at 3pm ET.  The final three nominees will be announced in the coming weeks and will move on to compete in the final round of voting for the New Artist category at VoteACM.com. Final round fan voting begins on Monday, March 24th and will close on April 6th, with the winner being announced live during the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on CBS on Sunday, April 6th at 8p ET/PT.

As part of this partnership, Great American Country will air several stand-alone specials; the first special “ACM Showcase” will feature all eight semi-finalists in the New Artist of the Year category.  This special will premiere Monday, January 21st at 8pm EST on Great American Country and will re-air through February 4th when voting closes.  The second Great American Country special, “ACM New Artist of the Year” will feature interviews and exclusive performances as the final 3 nominees for New Artist of the Year head to Las Vegas.  That special premieres Monday, March 24th at 8pm EST and airs through April 6th.

The Ram Ride and Drive is comprised of several obstacles, including a thrilling 13-foot climb where passengers experience the traction capabilities of a Ram pickup truck when driving over a 30-degree angle Ram Mountain. Fans attending the Ram experience will also see one of the most feared opponents on the monster truck racing circuit, the RAMINATOR. Weighing in at an incredible 10,300 pounds, the Ram-sponsored race truck is powered by a 2,000 horsepower HEMI engine and stands 10 feet tall and 13 feet wide. At select times during the Ram experience, the RAMINATOR will fire up and perform, smashing rows of junk cars. Country fans will be able to take a ride in the RAMINATOR ride truck and have autographs signed and photos taken with championship driver Mark Hall in the Ram Ride and Drive arena. Easton Corbin and Thompson Square will be signing autographs in the Ram Ride and Drive arena during the weekend as well.

“The Ram Truck track will be engaging and memorable for riders as they experience the refined interior, capabilities and handling of the award-winning 2013 Ram 1500,” said Fred Diaz, President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Ram Truck fans and country music fans are one and the same, as they are cut from the same cloth. Last year’s inaugural ACM EXPERIENCE event at the Academy of Country Music Awards was a big hit and we are excited to be back again to give our mutual fans the opportunity to ride and drive the most innovative lineup of full-size pickup trucks on the market.”
