Aaron Lewis, Eli Young Band, Josh Turner, Sara Evans And More Set To Take The Stage At Billy Bob’s Texas In October

More than just great shows, Billy Bob’s is known for live bull riding, great food and drinks, and for being a mini-museum of musical artifacts donated by some of Country Music’s biggest stars.

Billy Bob’s is the home of big-name concerts, bull riding and chicken fried steak with a reputation as gigantic as the state itself. With a new dance floor, Billy Bob’s Texas fans will be two-stepping throughout the month of October with top name entertainers gracing its historic stage.

OCT 05 – Frankie Ballard
OCT 06 – Josh Turner
OCT 12 – Green River Ordinance
OCT 13 – Aaron Lewis
OCT 19 – Jon Wolfe
OCT 20 – Sara Evans
OCT 26 – Gary P. Nunn
OCT 27 – Eli Young Band

The 10-time Academy of Country Music “Nightclub of the Year” has had over 17 million visitors since opening in 1981.

Billy Bob’s Texas is not just about the concerts. Nearly 50,000 bulls have bucked in Billy Bob’s Arena to date, and every Friday and Saturday nights at 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm, patrons can watch real bull riders in action at Billy Bob’s. Even a few of Texan-born Country music artists – Cody Johnson and Josh Ward – once got their start riding bucking bulls at Billy Bob’s before venturing onto a career as a musician.

Billy Bob’s VP of Marketing Pam Minick was once told by legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Star on his arrival, ““I told me band mates; get ready we’re going to see some real bull riding here.”

Billy Bob’s has also collected a variety of historical artifacts which are on display throughout the venue. In the appropriately named “Guitar Bar,” patrons can check out a large autographed guitar collection, and over 1,400 guitar picks which have been donated by many of the legends that graced the stages at Billy Bob’s over the years.

This month, “My Cause: Alabama Forever” highlights an organization that was founded in response to the April 27th, 2011 tornadoes that ravaged the state of Alabama.  What was founded as a response to the storms, Alabama Forever goes far beyond disaster relief.  Their core purpose is to help Alabama communities in need by offering viable resolutions to maintain the best possible life for the citizens of Alabama for generations to come.

Marc Anthony has sold over 11 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most influential artists of his time and a true ambassador of Latin music and culture. He has been awarded countless Standard gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The list of Grammy accolades began with a 1998 Grammy for Best Latin/Tropical Performance for “Contra La Corriente,” followed with a 1999 Grammy for Song of the Year for “Dimelo.” Driven in part by the crossover success of his smash single “I Need to Know (Dimelo),” “Marc Anthony,” his English language debut album, helped usher in 1999’s Latin pop explosion, and went on to achieve triple platinum status in the U.S. And, in 2005 Marc Anthony went home double fisted with a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album of the Year for “Amar Sin Mentiras” and another Grammy for Best Tropical Album of the Year for “Valio la Pena.”

Marc has also established a highly credible acting résumé and may be seen in Martin Scorsese’s “Bringing Out the Dead” (1999); opposite Selma Hayak in the Showtime original film, “In the Time of the Butterflies” (2001); and appears with Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken in director Tony Scott’s “Man On Fire” (2004). MARTINA McBRIDE AND TRAIN’S PAT MONAHAN TO PERFORM “MARRY ME” LIVE WEDDING CEREMONY AT 47th ACM AWARDS – 4.1 / Las Vegas

MARTINA McBRIDE AND TRAIN’S PAT MONAHAN TO PERFORM “MARRY ME”
AT THE 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC® AWARDS

LIVE WEDDING CEREMONY TO TAKE PLACE ONSTAGE DURING THEIR PERFORMANCE

TELECAST TO AIR LIVE FROM MGM GRAND IN LAS VEGAS
Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Martina McBride, along with Train frontman Pat Monahan, is scheduled to perform her new single “Marry Me” on the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. To celebrate the message of the song, McBride and Monahan will perform the duet during a very special moment in the show when a couple will get married live onstage. The show, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time in ACM Awards history –and perhaps any awards history– a live wedding ceremony will take place onstage during McBride and Monahan’s duet of “Marry Me,” McBride’s current single from her latest album Eleven. The song was coined by Grammy Award-winning artist Monahan and originally released in 2010 as the third single from Train’s chart-topping fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco.

McBride personally selected the lucky recipients of the onstage nuptials. Couple Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci thought they would never find love again. In July of 2009, Frank lost his wife, Danielle, to thyroid cancer and in that same year, Christina lost her husband, Paul, in a tragic drowning accident. As a way to deal with the grief of losing her husband and raising her two sons Stephen and Paul on her own, Christina started a support group for young widows and widowers in Washington Township, N.J. where she met Frank. Slowly their friendship blossomed into love as they bonded over their shared views about the challenges of single parenthood and the struggles to keep the memories of their spouses alive. Their wedding will mark a new chapter in their lives, an intimate moment which they will graciously share onstage. The bride will be wearing an Oleg Cassini gown as she recites her vows. Fans can also follow Christina and Frank along their journey to the chapel at www.ACMwedding.com.

McBride and Monahan join previously announced performers Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Young, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts.

Performers:
Martina McBride is a three-time Female Vocalist of the Year and is nominated again in the same category. She was awarded the Academy’s Humanitarian Award in 2003 for her charitable work, and in 2011, honored by ACM Lifting Lives® for her dedication to raising social consciousness of domestic violence and encouraging female empowerment through songs. Her latest album Eleven includes 11 new tracks, six of which she co-penned. Her current single, “Marry Me,” features Train’s Pat Monahan and is the follow-up to her 25th career Top 10 single, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”

Pat Monahan is the lead singer and songwriter for the Grammy Award-winning band Train. The San Francisco-based multi-platinum group’s fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco was certified platinum with three Billboard Hot 100 singles – “If It’s Love,” “Marry Me” and the Grammy-winning smash hit “Hey, Soul Sister.” “Hey, Soul Sister” was the biggest selling single of 2010 and hit No. 1 on the radio in the U.S. and 15 countries abroad. Train’s new album California 37 is due out April 17 and will include the single “Drive By.”

Special thanks to David’s Bridal, RITANI Engagement Rings, Platinum Guild International, BED BATH & BEYOND®, Sandals® Resorts – the Luxury Included® Honeymoon, Duff Goldman, Charm City Cakes and Charm City Cakes West, and the Forever Grand Wedding Chapel at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, each of which have played a special part in making Christina and Frank’s dream wedding a reality. ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends – In Concert is a special concert event of country music collaborations with the legendary Lionel Richie, featuring duets from his upcoming album Tuskegee, out March 26, 2012, along with solo performances. Some of Richie’s greatest hits will be performed by today’s hottest country artists including Jason Aldean (“Say You Say Me”), The Band Perry (“Penny Lover”), Luke Bryan (“Running with the Night”), Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum (“Truly”), Martina McBride (“Still”), Jennifer Nettles (“Hello”) and Rascal Flatts (“Dancing on the Ceiling”).  Duets with Richie include: “My Love” with Kenny Chesney, “Sail On” with  Tim McGraw, “Lady” with Kenny Rogers, and more surprises to be announced.

“It has been so rewarding to have my songs embraced by country music artists,” said Lionel Richie. “Since Conway Twitty recorded ‘Three Times a Lady’ and Kenny Rogers sang ‘Lady,’ I have been welcomed into the country music family with open arms.  It’s the ultimate compliment to have country artists record and perform songs that I’ve written. I’ve always felt right at home in country because I was raised just down the road from Nashville in Tuskegee, Alabama, where I was immersed in country, R&B, gospel and classical music. This show will be a homecoming and family reunion combined, and I’m so glad that viewers will be able to share these special moments with us. It will be a night that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Orly Adelson, president of dick clark productions and executive producer of the special said, “We’re honored to bring together the industry’s greatest artists with Lionel’s legendary sound for what will be a once in a lifetime concert.”
