CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN, DAY OF THE DEAD
AT THE LINQ PROMENADE, HIGH ROLLER

WHAT:
This Halloween—from Oct. 25 through 31—a coven of witches will descend upon The LINQ Promenade, the popular open-air entertainment, dining and retail district at the heart of the Strip. These sinister characters will stroll the Promenade nightly, casting spells and summoning spirits before being joined by the “high priestess” for a startlingly spooky show on the Fountain Stage. Other seasonal activities will include TRIQ-or-TREAT (a safe trick-or-treat experience for all ages), a Day of the Dead music celebration and the nightly lighting of the High Roller observation wheel in Halloween colors.

WHEN:
Nightly, Oct. 25 – 31

  • Halloween show: 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. – Stage show to start at the top of the hour.
  • High Roller Observation Wheel: The world’s tallest observation wheel at 550 feet will be lighted in a Halloween color scheme on Oct. 31.

Saturday, Oct. 26

  • TRIQ or TREAT: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Locals and Las Vegas visitors are invited to The LINQ Promenade for safe street trick or treating, with the chance to collect bags full of candy and other goodies from more than 40 outlets.

Friday, Nov. 1

  • Vegas Live: 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. – Presented by local musician Mike Xavier, this Day of the Dead celebration will feature artists showcasing the local Latin music scene on the Fountain Stage.

Named “Lady Ace” to Honor Hometown WNBA Team

Staying true to her #VegasBorn roots, the newest baby dolphin at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage received her official name today — “Lady Ace,” in honor of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, who are currently making a run in the playoffs.

 

Lady Ace was born August 16 to first-time mother Bella, marking the fourth generation of dolphins represented at the Habitat. For the last five weeks, the proud mother and doting Animal Care team have watched the female calf reach important growth milestones and become a confident swimmer amongst the family of dolphins.

 

“The Las Vegas Aces are a strong, determined group of women and we couldn’t think of better inspiration for our newest calf,” said Nik Rytterstrom, President & COO of The Mirage. “We are honored to have a special bond with this powerhouse team and are excited to introduce them to their namesake dolphin, after they take home the championship, of course.”

 

Alongside Lady Ace and Bella are Bella’s grandmother, Duchess; mother, Huf N Puf, and Huf N Puf’s daughter, Coco; and Sofi and Sofi’s daughter, Karli, who celebrated her first birthday on August 11. The father of the new calf is Razzle, a 30-year-old that currently resides at Sea World San Diego.

 

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat’s primary focus is on education, conservation and research benefiting marine life and the waters where they live. The Habitat has earned Humane Conservation™ certification from American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization and the world’s largest certifier of animal welfare and well-being. Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Garden’s autumn display celebrates the beauty and wondrous culture of India with golden leaves, soothing waterfalls and, for the first time, two 14-foot exotic elephants.

The “Indian Summer” display begins with the discovery of North America and the weather of early fall. When explorers reached land, they mistakenly believed they had reached India. In their writing, they told of the incredible new world they found with its beautiful warm climate and second harvest. They called it “Indian Summer.”

Inspired by designer Ed Libby’s travels to India, this display brings to life India’s culture, folklore and festivities through floral and botanical art. The captivating exhibit is open through November 30 and is a striking departure from previous displays at Bellagio.

“This season we incorporate multiple elements from my recent trips to India that showcase the celebration, pageantry and traditions of this vibrant culture,” said Libby. “We reimagined the usual expectations of the season with colorful additions that celebrate the glamour of fall, adding colors rich in gemstone hues and exploring new themes. We are excited to occasionally break from tradition to offer new experiences for Bellagio’s guests.”

Creating a stunning pathway for visitors at the entrance of the Conservatory are two glittering 24-foot floral arches embellished with rose petals and botanical foliage and ornamented with flames, as fire is considered a purifying and sustaining life force in Indian culture. The gilded arcs lead to a regal mandap, a structure traditionally used for Indian weddings, made from thousands of red, yellow and orange carnations. A bed of colossal pumpkins, ranging in size, and four soothing fountains line the walkway’s edge.

At the center of the display are two majestic 14-foot Asian elephants spouting water from their trunks, with blinking eyes and moving tails, wearing colorful blankets made from 20,000 pink and purple roses. A delicate waterfall fairy dances in front of the pachyderms while two Hanuman deities, a part-human and part-monkey Hindu God known for energy and strength, gather a bountiful harvest in intricate hand-painted, wooden carts. Breathtaking chandeliers resembling Kalire, umbrella-shaped ornaments worn by brides during Indian wedding ceremonies, provide a peaceful glow.

Nearby, two 25-foot tigers made from yellow lentils, red and black cargo rice and caraway seeds keep a watchful eye over the North Garden. A gentle rain curtain pours over a fallen log, providing a perch for one observant tiger, while birds of paradise and cattails offer a hiding place for the other Bengal. Three floral sculptures made from more than 2,000 vibrant roses rest on the edge of the pond.

Delighting guests in the South Garden, a 28-foot enchanted talking tree provides shelter for multiple energetic peacocks that call to each other and fluff their feathers among the branches. At the base of the tree trunk, a family of wily foxes perches on top of a magical carpet and frolics around a blue and gold decorated lamp while a striking array of oversized glistening oak leaves and dragonflies flutter overhead.

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is officially the first bowling alley to partner with KultureCity, making the venue the first sensory inclusive bowling alley in the world. This ground-breaking partnership was teased by acclaimed Imagine Dragons’ drummer and KultureCity board member, Daniel Platzman at Nevada Public Radio Trivia Night hosted at Brooklyn Bowl earlier this summer.

“It is incredibly fulfilling for me to see the iconic bowling alley and music venue from my hometown, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, join the KultureCity sensory inclusive movement,” said KultureCity board member Daniel Platzman. “I am extremely proud to be a part of this nonprofit and their dedication to inclusion and acceptance of all individuals regardless of their unique abilities.”

Nearly one in five people worldwide live with a disability. KultureCity, a startup nonprofit that strives to create a community of acceptance and inclusion for all individuals, is working to remove societal barriers and prejudices by partnering with companies to promote true acceptance of individuals with unique abilities. Cabo Wabo Cantina, located inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will celebrate hockey season with viewing parties for professional hockey games starting Tuesday, Oct. 2, as well as a signature cocktail inspired by Vegas’ home team.

 

In honor of hockey season in Las Vegas, Cabo Wabo will stir up the Golden Mule, handcrafted with vodka, St. Germain, mango puree, pineapple juice and fresh lime juice, topped with ginger beer, priced at $12. Hockey fans may also cheer on teams, while enjoying tequila flights, priced at $24; and pitchers of margaritas, priced starting at $39.

 

Games will be shown throughout the cantina on flat-panel big-screen TVs, including a 200-inch video grid, a 200-inch projection screen, a 110-inch high-definition TV, two 80-inch high-definition TVs and 25 high-definition TVs, visible from any seat in the restaurant. Cabo Wabo serves a variety of signature menu items that may be enjoyed during game days, including the nacho platter, made with a house cheese blend, beans, jalapenos, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole, priced at $14.95; and Sammy’s Tequila Shrimp, served with garlic seasoned Baja shrimp and tequila-lime sauce, priced at $14.95.

Fly, drive, take a train, or even a cross-country road trip via taxi (like Phoebe & Joey in her Yellow Cab) to Las Vegas for a one-of-a-kind Friends 25th Anniversary celebration in the Entertainment Capital of the World, October 18-19. Warner Bros. Television Group joins AT&T and MGM Resorts International to offer fans a phenomenal Friends 25th Vegas takeover in all its glory, including new fan experiences powered by AT&T 5G.

In the fifth and sixth seasons of the hit comedy series, the Friends gang headed west to Las Vegas to visit Joey on the set of his movie. What happened there 10 years ago, however, did not stay there. In the two-part season five finale, Monica and Chandler took a roll of the dice and impulsively decided to get married –– only to discover that they were beaten to the chapel by a very drunk Ross and Rachel. In the season six premiere, the gang faced the consequences of the night before, while Joey and Phoebe headed back to New York in her grandfather’s Yellow Cab.

The Fountains of Bellagio

“I’ll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour…” On Friday, Oct. 18, the iconic Fountains of Bellagio will unveil a brand-new show set to the catchy Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts. Created by WET Design, the show will debut at sunset on Friday and run on rotation throughout the weekend and beyond. There will also be exclusive photo opps with the Central Perk couch, which will be on site in front of The Fountains.

AT&T 5G Friends Fan Experience at The Brooklyn Bridge, New York-New York  

AT&T is bringing Friends to life in brand new ways, giving fans opportunities to interact with their six favorite friends in a massive and immersive custom built experience that’s more 2019 than 1994 –– but not without nostalgia!

Many of the experiences will be powered by AT&T’s live 5G network and its 5G Innovation Program members, including Ericsson’s 5G network equipment, Nokia network infrastructure and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G smartphones. The Fan Experience includes:

Phoebe’s Yellow Cab Escape Room

“It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear…” But for Friends fans, this will not only be their day, their week, their month, but also their year!  Located outside New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Phoebe’s Yellow Cab Escape Room offers the challenge of an escape room with the fun of a Friends trivia game, in a fully operational taxicab. Parked –– where else? –– on the Brooklyn Bridge, the Friends Escape Room allows fans to test their knowledge of the series inside Phoebe’s iconic mode of transportation. 

Here’s a sample to get you started:  Which of the following is not true?  A.  Phoebe inherited the cab from her grandfather.  B. Ross named it the “Death Cab” because of Phoebe’s driving abilities.  C.  Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock also owns the vehicle.  D. None of the above. Central Perk LEGO®

Go big…or go home! At nearly 700 square feet, this re-creation of one of the series’ signature sets will be on display exclusively at New York-New York. Built out of 900,000 LEGO bricks over a period of four months, this life-sized re-creation from acclaimed artist Nathan Sawaya features everything from the iconic sofa to the latest menu board.

Fun Facts:  No one has ever built a life-sized TV set out of LEGO bricks before. Although the creators binge-watched every season of Friends, it took them longer to build the set than to watch the series. The furniture is all fully functional –– allowing visitors to sit on the couches and chairs. The signature orange couch took the longest time to build –– as the most challenging part of the process was replicating the patterns in the upholstery.

A miniature version of the LEGO Central Perk set is now available at retailers nationwide. 

The 7th Friend Experience

Fans can record a 3D version of themselves doing Chandler’s happy dance or their own favorite move. Using AT&T’s 5G with Ericsson’s 5G network equipment, fans can drop their virtual twin into a miniature replica of Monica and Rachel’s apartment. This experience uses data-intensive volumetric video to put you in the center of the action, which can be viewed on Samsung tablets and the Galaxy S10 5G.

Performance by The Rembrandts

“I’ll be there for you, like I’ve been there before…” The Rembrandts will perform an exclusive live set at The Park, the immersive outdoor dining and entertainment district located adjacent to New York-New York. Famous for their iconic theme song, the musical duo will be on hand to perform their hits and other Friends-related songs. The concert will also be livestreamed over AT&T 5G with Nokia to a big screen onsite to make sure you have the perfect view as you belt out those memorable lyrics.

What better way to celebrate Friends in Las Vegas than with a Friends-themed karaoke booth where fans can sing along to iconic music from the show.

The show first aired in 1994 using 35mm film, but has since been remastered in Ultra HD quality. Their newly painted creation will be on display inside Luxor on Saturday, Oct. 19.
