TOURNAMENT OF KINGS AT EXCALIBUR HOTEL & CASINO AWARDED
TRIPADVISOR CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Inducted into ‘Hall of Fame’ of Five-time Certificate of Excellence Winners on the
World’s Largest Travel Site

Tournament of Kings , the famed dinner show at Excalibur Hotel & Casino, today announced that it has been recognized as a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame winner.  The Certificate of Excellence award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. The “Hall of Fame” was created to honor those businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years.  Winners include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.

“Being awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence five years in a row and being inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ is a true source of pride for the entire team at Tournament of Kings, Royal Productions and Excalibur,” said JoDee Streuber, vice president of Marketing at Excalibur. “There is no greater seal of approval than being recognized by one’s customers and we’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor. The accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our business and our continued commitment to excellence.”

“Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years is a remarkable feat. TripAdvisor is pleased to induct five-time award winners into the ‘Hall of Fame,’” said Marc Charron, president, TripAdvisor for Business. “By putting a spotlight on businesses that are focused on consistently delivering great service to customers, TripAdvisor not only helps drive an improvement to hospitality standards around the world, it also gives businesses both large and small the ability to shine and stand out from the competition.”

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period as well as business’ tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site.  To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

TOURNAMENT OF KINGS INTRODUCES ITS  FIRST FEMALE HORSE RIDER

FEMALE HORSE RIDER

Tournament of Kings at Excalibur Hotel & Casino, the most exciting dinner show on the Vegas Strip, recently introduced its newest cast member and first female horse rider Iranda Dyer. Dyer was hired to perform alongside the other maidens of Tournament of Kings in a new dance routine, but has a unique role and dance partner. Dyer, a skilled rider with 20 years of experience with horses, sits atop Nobilissimo, one of the show’s four-legged cast members, and commands him through a performance of dressage. Considered an art, dressage is a routine in which horse and rider make precise movements as one harmonious team.

Nobilissimo is an Andalusian, a breed commonly referred to as “the horse of the kings.” When Dyer is not working with him at Tournament of Kings she works as a sports massage therapist for horses at three Las Vegas equine centers. Dyer currently performs in Tournament of Kings Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Tournament of Kings at Excalibur Hotel & Casino Introduces New Costumes and Set Pieces

Tournament of Kings Introduces
New Costumes and Set Pieces

In the midst of battle, Tournament of Kings at Excalibur Hotel & Casino recently debuted new costumes and set pieces incorporating brighter colors and more elaborate designs. Designer Frederick Pinaud, best known for his work with French operas, designed dazzling gowns for the maidens, vibrant tournament attire for the knights and a majestic robe for Merlin the wizard. In addition to brightening the cast’s costumes, the castle façade was enhanced to feature rotating doors, stairs and towers, thus reconfiguring the impressive structure utilized throughout the show. Opposite the façade, a lavish red and gold throne was added for King Arthur to watch the knights valiantly fight for their respective countries. The massive round table used for celebrating and dancing was repainted red, green and blue and emblazoned with gold lions and Celtic designs. In the words of Merlin, “Huzzah!”
