Today, Reggae Rise Up announced new dates for the inaugural music festival, now scheduled to take place October 24-25, 2020 at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.

Live Nite Events made the decision to postpone the live music event due to the growing health concerns surrounding COVID-19. Festival fans can still catch their favorite bands including Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads, SOJA, J. Boog, Matisyahu, Common Kings and many more.

In a change of original plans, all artists who were originally scheduled for Saturday will now perform on Sunday and all artists originally scheduled for Sunday will now perform on Saturday (see event lineup poster below).

Any single-day ticket holders who wish to exchange their tickets for the alternating day can visit www.reggaeriseupvegas.com and fill out a form to request the change. Additionally, an email will be sent to all ticket holders with a direct link to the ticket exchange form. Ticket holders have until July 31 to complete the change request.

All ticket types are now back on-sale with Tier 2 GA Weekend currently start at $100 and VIP Weekend start at $170. Tier 2 Single-Day GA and VIP tickets go on-sale starting at $55 and $90, respectively (Ticketing Fees, Tax and Shipping not included)

As the event was originally scheduled for this weekend, festival coordinators will bring the reggae fun to viewers at home with an all-day livestream event scheduled for Monday, April 20. The online event will feature live performances and programming from many of the artists that the festival features regularly on its lineups. More information on the Reggae Rise Up 420 Live Stream Cypher will be made available later today on all of Reggae Rise Up’s social media platforms.

The group grew into a true band with the addition of Jim Creegan (bass/vocals), Tyler Stewart (drums/vocals) and Andy Creegan (keyboards) and went on to release Yellow Tape, Canada’s first independently-released tape to reach platinum status. Shortly after, Barenaked Ladies signed with Sire/Reprise Records in 1992 and released its debut studio album Gordon featuring hits such as “Be My Yoko Ono,” “Brian Wilson” and “If I Had a $1,000,000.” Before the release of the band’s third album, Kevin Hearn (keyboard/guitar/vocals) replaced Andy Creegan, who left the group to finish college abroad. The now quartet decided to form a new label, Raisin’ Records, and released All in Good Time, the band’s first album since Page’s departure. Catch A Fire Tour 2015
With Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Morgan Heritage and Tarrus Riley
Thursday, Sept. 24
8 p.m.; Doors at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $43 GA

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley
The youngest son of Jamaican reggae singer Bob Marley, Damien Marley formed his first band, The Shepherds, when he was 13 years old. In 1994, Marley recorded his first solo album, Mr. Marley, with the help of his father’s label, Tuff Gong. Marley released his second album Halfway Tree with the help of his producer and brother Stephen “Ragga” Marley. The album became a sensation and won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. In the summer of 2005, Marley released Welcome to Jamrock, a successful album combing reggae and hip-hop influences.

Morgan Heritage
In 1994, the children of legendary reggae singer Denroy Morgan came together to form the band Morgan Heritage. After a performance at the Reggae Sunsplash Festival, the group signed with MCA Records and released its first album, Miracle. The album was considered a major flop and caused the group to rediscover its musical roots. After the release of its second album, Protect Us Jah, the group shrunk to five members including vocalists Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Peter Morgan and Una Morgan; percussionist Memmalatel “Mojo” Morgan; and rhythm guitarist Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan. Over the last two decades, the band has produced a number of hit singles including “Protect Us Jah,” “Let’s Make Up,” “Set Yourself Free,” “Mama and Papa” and “Tell Me How Come.” In April 2015, Morgan Heritage released Strictly Roots, featuring appearances by J. Boog, Chronixx, Bobby Lee of SOJA and Jemere Morgan.

Tarrus Riley
The son of singer Jimmy Riley, Tarrus Riley is considered one of the most gifted second generation Jamaican reggae singers. In 2004, Riley released his debut album Challenges produced by popular Jamaican saxophonist Dean Fraser. Two years later, he released his sophomore album Parables featuring the hit single “She’s Royal.” Riley followed up the album with Contagious in 2009. Over the years, Riley’s sound has been described as contemporary while still remaining true to his Jamaican roots. His music paired with his strong stage performance has made him a popular artist in the international reggae scene.

Counting Crows: Somewhere Under Wonderland Tour with special guest Citizen Cope

Counting Crows, consisting of singer Adam Duritz, drummer Jim Bogios, guitarist David Bryson, keyboardist Charlie Gillingham, guitarist David Immergluck, bass player Millard Powers and guitarist Dan Vickrey, became an overnight sensation in 1993 with the release of its multiplatinum debut album August and Everything After. The band quickly became known for its dark lyrics and rock ‘n’ roll sound reminiscent of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Over the next two decades, the band released seven albums, toured around the globe and sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. In September 2014, Counting Crows released its most recent studio album Somewhere Under Wonderland. Since then, the band has been touring around the world, captivating fans with its unique and innovative live performances.
Father John Misty with special guest Mikal Cronin
Thursday, Oct. 15
9 p.m.; Doors at 8 p.m.
Tickets: $23 GA

Before adopting the pseudonym Father John Misty, singer and songwriter J. Tillman first made a name for himself playing drums in a pair of indie rock bands, Saxon Shore and Stately, while attending college in New York City. At that time, he began writing material of his own, citing the music of Nick Drake and Pete Seeger, and the writings of Flannery O’Connor, as key influences. During tours with Damien Jurado, Tilman produced a few CD-R albums and created a ready audience for his home-burned discs. In 2006, the independent Fargo Records label released Tillman’s first properly distributed solo album, Minor Works, and Keep Records reissued I Will Return/Long May You Run as a two-disc set the same year. In 2007, Yer Bird Records released Tillman’s fourth, more elaborately arranged album, Cancer and Delirium. Although his solo work continued to garner critical acclaim, he briefly shifted focus in 2008 by joining Fleet Foxes. The group toured heavily in support of its debut album, yet, Tillman continued working on his own material, releasing Year in the Kingdom in 2009. In 2011, Tillman left Fleet Foxes to concentrate on his many solo projects, using his pseudonym Father John Misty for 2012’s Fear Fun. In 2015, Tillman issued a second studio album under the moniker, the caustically funny and surprisingly sweet I Love You, Honeybear.

Brian Wilson with special guest Rodriguez
Friday, July 10
8 p.m.; Doors at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $50 GA; Reserved prices starting at $70

Considered one of the greatest composers of the rock era, Brian Wilson got an early start when he formed The Beach Boys in 1961 with his two younger brothers Dennis and Carl, cousin Mike Love and childhood friend Alan Jardine. Heavily influenced by the harmonic blend of Four Freshman and the rock rhythms of Chuck Berry, Wilson went on to write a number of the group’s top hits including “Surfer Girl,” “In My Room,” “I Get Around,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Help Me Rhonda” and “California Girls.” After 1967, Wilson relinquished much of his control of the group to his brother Carl in order to focus on other projects. In 1988, Wilson released his first solo album featuring the hit single “Love And Mercy,” a song that often serves as a closing performance for his concerts. Following the release, Wilson continued to write and record music as a solo act as well as a member of The Beach Boys. By 2012, Wilson had officially reunited with the group in time to release That’s Why God Made The Radio, the group’s first album with Wilson in over 15 years. In 2014, Wilson began to tour and record as a solo artist again, with songs he had originally written for The Beach Boys. His latest solo album No Pier Pressure is set to release in April 2015 and features a number of guest stars from a variety of genres.

Known only by his surname, legendary singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist Rodriguez began performing in bars and clubs around Detroit in the 1960s as the city suffered post-industrial urban decay. It was there that he recorded two studio albums, Cold Fact in 1969 and Coming from Reality in 1971. In the mid-1970s, his music gained airplay in Australia and New Zealand where he became an overseas performer. Rodriguez was unaware that he had reached legendary folk-rock super stardom status in South Africa, where mistaken rumors circulated that he had perished. In fact, South African anti-Apartheid activists and musicians alike were profoundly inspired by his counterculture lyrics. In the late 1990s, South African fans finally sought him out, leading to the unanticipated renaissance of his music career. His story is told in the 2012 Oscar award-winning documentary, “Searching for Sugar Man,” which has given Rodriguez a new measure of fame in the U.S. and throughout the world.

Tickets: Prices starting at $35

With a six-decade career and 200 plus albums, this iconic Texan is the creative genius behind the historic recordings of “Crazy,” “Red Headed Stranger” and “Stardust.” Willie Nelson has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor and activist.  Released May of 2012, Heroes, his first album for Legacy Recordings, showcased new songs and deep country classics.  The album spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Americana Radio Chart. The result: a magnetic cocktail house where exotic things happen around all who walk inside. A mash-up of LED art, live performance and upbeat house music, BOND toys with expectations drawing in passersby and compelling those within to stay. ABOUT KARL DENSON: For nearly three decades, legendary saxophonist Karl Denson has been getting crowds around the world out on the dance floor.  Approaching iconic status, Denson has moved bodies and minds dating back to his earliest years with Lenny Kravitz’s band through his ongoing tenure as a founding member of seminal boogaloo revivalists The Greyboy Allstars and his current roll as a member of San Diego dub rockers Slightly Stoopid.  Nowhere, however, is this more apparent than with his band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe.  Touring relentlessly for the past 15 years and leaving a massive audience in his wake, fans know that when KDTU is in town a dance party will ensue.

Karl and his band are back on the road for a multi-city tour in support of their latest studio album, New Ammo, an infectious 13-track collection, and Denson’s debut release on Slightly Stoopid’s record label, Stoopid Records. Alongside Denson originals like the title track and “Everybody Knows That,” which have become fan favorites from his live sets, KDTU offers up searing versions of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes, “Hang Me Up To Dry” by Cold War Kids and “Sure Shot” by The Beastie Boys. The first single “My Baby,” features Nicki Bluhm on vocals.

In Denson’s own words: “We’ve finally figured out how to capture in the studio what the Tiny Universe does live. We move around a lot musically, but this record reflects who we are as a band and where we’re headed with our music.”

ABOUT BROOKLYN BOWL:

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is the brand’s third location. With three levels spanning over 80,000 square feet, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is one of the largest performance venues in America and is described by People Magazine as being “on the fast path to being Vegas’über cool place.” Located inside The LINQ, the open-air district in the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the multi-dimensional space boasts 32 lanes of bowling, five on-site bars and rockin’ comfort food by the world-renowned Bromberg Brothers’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants, including their iconic Fried Chicken celebrated on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” On any given night, more than 2,000 concertgoers can enjoy live music programming from the general admission area, the luxurious bowlers’ lounges adjacent to the lanes, or the private lounge boxes overlooking it all. Since opening in March 2014, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas has seen notable performances by Elvis Costello & The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, Phil Lesh & Friends, Primus, O.A.R. and Steve Winwood.

The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. Brooklyn Bowl New York has hosted countless notable performances, including shows by Kanye West, Adele, Paul Simon, Moby and Guns N’Roses and has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone.  Eater described their menu as “epic,” while The New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.” The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at the O2 in London, and was hailed by the London Evening Standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.

Slightly Stoopid’s diligent commitment to live music has been an integral part of the California-based group’s sound since its formation in 1995. Having toured consistently over the past decade, Slightly Stoopid returned to the studio with its first release in three years, Top Of The World, in August of 2012. Originally signed to Bradley Nowell’s (lead singer of Sublime) independent label, Skunk Records, the group formed its own record label, Slightly Stoopid Records, in 2000, allowing the organic and artistic growth the group has become known for.

In 2011, Atmosphere conquered the hip hop world with its long awaited LP, The Family Sign. The tribute to the group’s true extended family: their fans, their loved ones and each other, The Family Sign is Atmosphere’s most personal and intimate album yet. Two years after the group’s last release, lead lyricist Slug continues to drive his hard-hitting rhymes, accompanied by the group’s meticulously crafted beats, into the hearts and minds of listeners.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven venues. The excitement of live-music and sports action spills onto the casino floor from Book & Stage, an upscale sports and entertainment lounge, while live DJs fill the rhythmic and vibrant hot-spot BOND with the best in house-music. Finally, The Chandelier, a dramatic inhabitable three-story architectural wonder, created by 2 million luminous crystals, houses three unique bar experiences: high-energy hot spot, sophisticated cocktail retreat and inviting lounge. Perched high above the Las Vegas Strip, the Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience by day and an intimate outdoor concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of both the stage and The Strip by night.
