AWARD-WINNING LIP SMACKING FOODIE TOURS INTRODUCES LAS VEGAS ARTS DISTRICT

September 2019) – Following the success of its innovative gourmet culinary walking tours through Las Vegas’ revitalized downtown and along its desirable Strip, the award-winning Lip Smacking Foodie Tours proudly introduces a brand-new itinerary to its roster – the eclectic “Arts District Lip Smacking Tour.”

On this tour, attendees explore one of the city’s most spirited and colorful neighborhoods—home to a slew of talented artists and artisans. Here, the popular “First Friday’’ arts and cultural festival entices nearly 15,000 people on the first Friday of each month to stroll and admire one-of-a-kind local art. Spunk and creativity abound along the 18 blocks encompassing the Arts District, with a lively mix of independent businesses including vintage clothing boutiques, antique stores, theaters, art galleries, bars and restaurants.

This inspiring experience escorts groups to up to four locations, with each restaurant presenting an array of distinctive dishes while patrons relax and mingle. Guests are treated as VIPs as they are personally greeted by chefs and proprietors and whisked to the best seats in the house at each venue. Guests never wait in line or need to make reservations.

On this tour, guests will get a taste of the best the Arts District has to offer as they meet some of its most distinctive chefs. The first stop is Esther’s Kitchen, where the seasonal Italian cuisine is served on handmade tableware fashioned at a pottery studio just steps away from the restaurant. Chef James Trees, a Las Vegas native, has worked under such culinary luminaries as Gordon Ramsay, Eric Ripert, Ray Garcia and Michael Mina. The restaurant, named for his Great-Aunt Esther whose generosity helped him attend the Culinary Institute of America and open his first restaurant, specializes in scratch-made pastas, pizzas and breads.

At Jammyland, guests will feast not only with their palate, but also their eyes. Former New Yorkers Danielle Crouch and Allan Katz opened this Jamaica restaurant in a converted garage with a spacious patio with twinkling lights featuring two vibrant wall murals, including one that depicts the history of Jamaican music around the globe. Here, guests can groove to Reggae tunes, peruse an extensive rum list, and feast on modern Caribbean fare such as the classic meat patty with curried grass-fed beef enfolded in a turmeric-scented pastry, as well as the popular jerk wings which are marinated for 24 hours and smoked in-house.

Afterward, guests get a chance to stretch their legs while taking in iconic artwork, including “Paintbrush Gateway,’’ Dennis Oppenheim’s two 45-foot tall steel paintbrushes that emit beams of rainbow-colored LED light 2,000 feet skyward. They will also see the thought-provoking “Chain Migration’’ by artist Izaac Zevalking, known as the Recycled Propaganda, which depicts the Statue of Liberty in handcuffs.

The tour excursion ends with a sweet taste of history. At Cornish Pasty Co., Cornwall, England native Dean Thomas continues the tradition of making English, hand-held pies that originated in the 1200s when wives and mothers baked them as a convenient packable lunch for miners. Thomas also serves classic British desserts, including Banoffee Pie made with house-made caramel, fresh bananas and a fluff of whipped cream; Sticky Toffee Pudding; and Chocolate Bread & Butter Pudding that features warm, house-baked bread soaked in a rich chocolate-brandy sauce and served crisp on the outside and custardy within.

The new Arts District tour is $125 per person. For an even more elevated experience, guests may add an optional $50 per person beverage package that includes a pre-selected signature cocktail at each stop. Click here to make a reservation.

Gordon Ramsay BurGR Goes Hog Wild with the Introduction of  the Hog Burger, Featuring Exclusive Mangalitsa Pork

Unmatched in flavor and quality, Gordon Ramsay BurGR is the only Restaurant in Las Vegas Offering the Acclaimed Mangalitsa

Continuing to elevate the traditional burger experience, Gordon Ramsay BurGR leads the way by introducing its newest and most unique culinary creation: The Hog Burger featuring exceptional Mangalitsa pork. Unavailable anywhere else in Las Vegas, Mangalitsa pork is renowned for its rich and succulent texture, superior quality and incredible concentrated flavor.

Already receiving rave reviews, the Hog Burger at Gordon Ramsay BurGR features a special grind Mangalista patty, perfectly grilled over oak, apple and alder woods, basted with maple butter and served with melted English sharp cheddar and arugula on a signature Brioche bun made fresh daily and topped with black and white sesame seeds.

“We take great pride in our sourcing of only the highest quality ingredients to use in all of our dishes. Discovering Mangalitsa pork is the perfect example,” said Caesars Entertainment Regional Vice President of Food and Beverage, Jeffrey Frederick. “These rare pigs are a breed with an interesting lineage. They are raised with such great care and that effort is directly reflected in its amazing flavor, quality and consistency. Without question, there is a direct relationship between the way an animal is raised, finished, butchered and cooked and the way it tastes.”

Mangalitsa pork is sourced from Mosefund Farms where the distinctive curly-coated pigs are raised in open pastures and given the time and care to mature. In fact, they require nearly three times as much as of everything from time to mature to amount of feed, as commercial commodity pigs do. They graze on grass and clover and are finished on barley to ensure the highest quality of flavorful and healthful meat.

“We’ve all heard the saying that pork is the other white meat,” said investment banker-turned-Mosefund Farm owner G.C Anderson. “We happen to believe that Mangalitsas are the better tasting red meat.”

The Mangalitsa breed was originally developed during the Austro-Hungarian Empire for its exquisite flavor and was originally reserved exclusively for the taste buds of royalty. The Mangalitsa, with its long, often curly hair, is descended, like its cousin the black footed Iberian pig, from the European wild boar and is not well known because it was behind the iron curtain for nearly 60 years. In the 90’s, it was on the brink of extinction with only 200 animals left.  Mangalitsa pigs were virtually unknown and non-existent in America and remain a rare find domestically. That is until New Jersey native, G.C. Andersen spent many years traveling Europe enjoying the taste experience of the Mangalista. He returned to New Jersey with the fadeless memory of the amazing taste of Mangalitsa but found he could not replicate it in the U.S.

Motivated to learn all he could about the Mangalitsa, Anderson discovered that the pork he enjoyed in Europe came from heritage breed pigs that are meticulously reared and produced through old world traditions of raising and butchering livestock – a process not found in America.

With passion and determination, Andersen set out to revitalize those old-world traditions at his Mosefund Farm in Sussex County, New Jersey.

Due to his dedication and passion for maintaining the integrity of the breed, today Mosefund Farms is the exclusive producer, east of the Mississippi, of the rare breed and has more than 90% of the Mangalitsa livestock in the United States. Unwavering in his commitment, Anderson continues to rear the breed to perfection. He recognizes the important role butchering plays too and takes his pigs up to 1,000 miles away for butchering that meets the stringent standards he upholds.

Gordon Ramsay BurGR is the famed chef’s first burger concept takes the traditional burger, fries and milkshake combination to an entirely new level with Ramsay’s signature pudding shakes.  Located in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, steps from the Las Vegas Strip, BurGR is open for lunch and dinner starting at 11 a.m. daily.

Gordon Ramsay to Open First Las Vegas Restaurant at Paris

Internationally Acclaimed Chef Gordon Ramsay to Open
First Las Vegas Restaurant
Gordon Ramsay Steak – at Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas is pleased to announce internationally-renowned Chef Gordon Ramsay will open his first Las Vegas restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Steak, in the spring of 2012 in the heart of the picturesque resort. The new restaurant will replace Les Artistes Steakhouse.

Michelin Star Chef Gordon Ramsay, known not only for his refined cuisine, but also his TV personality on several hit programs including “Hell’s Kitchen,” “MasterChef” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” has generated world-wide attention and entertained viewers on six continents.

“Few chefs in the world have extended their reputation to as many countries and into as many homes as Chef Ramsay,” said Paris Las Vegas President David Hoenemeyer.  “His fiery passion for excellence has been validated by the culinary world’s top epicurean honors, by his legions of delighted restaurant guests and by millions of TV fans.  We, at Paris Las Vegas, believe that the addition of Gordon Ramsay Steak, will be an exciting new milestone in the city’s impressive culinary evolution.”

The contemporary steakhouse will boast a total of 274 seats including a large bar area, chef’s table and private dining room in addition to the main room. Guests will be encouraged to relax in the spacious lounge or enjoy a cozy booth in this ultimate modern steakhouse.

“Vegas is such a vibrant city, and I’m excited to open my first Las Vegas restaurant in a Caesars Entertainment resort – Paris Las Vegas,” said Gordon Ramsay. “The space is really bold and innovative, and we’ve put together a great team and created a contemporary, quality menu. I can’t wait to open and start welcoming guests!”

Gordon Ramsay Steak will be a fresh, high-energy dining environment that playfully transports guests from Paris to London.  Set within the Paris casino, which is whimsically modeled after the “City of Lights,” the restaurant design will celebrate Chef Ramsay and the city of London, where he lives.  This innovative concept will reflect edgy, exciting and bold designs and will bridge the resort’s Parisian theme with Ramsay’s British heritage.  A prefect synergy as Ramsay’s early education took place in the Paris kitchens of famous Michelin Star Chefs such as Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon. San Francisco based EDG Interior Architecture + Design, which previously created designs for Rao’s and Bradley Ogden restaurants at Caesars Palace, will spearhead the design.

This fresh new restaurant will offer guests a look at the exclusive beef aging program created under the direction of Chef Ramsay and his culinary team. The menu selections will range from traditional steakhouse fare with delectable cuts of beef to Ramsay’s signature fish and chips and Shepard’s Pie.  This dynamic new addition to Ramsay’s profound collection of restaurants will offer the freshest seafood to mouth-watering cuts of beef, French-influenced sides and delicious desserts.

Gordon Ramsay
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. When an injury cut short his promising career in soccer, he went back to college where his dedication and natural talent led him to train with some of world’s leading chefs. In 1993, Ramsay became chef of Aubergine in London and within three years was awarded two Michelin stars. In 1998, at the age of 31, Ramsay opened his namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars. Ramsay is in the minority as one of only four chefs in the UK to maintain three stars.
