Celebrities, including DNCE front man Joe Jonas, Amber Rose, G-Eazy, Ed Westwick, Kat Graham, Kellan Lutz, Icona Pop, Jillionaire of Major Lazer and more flocked to Palm Springs where the energy and excitement of Las Vegas came to life throughout the weekend (April 16-17). Thousands of partygoers joined the destination as it unveiled its first ever product, #WHHSH (What Happens Here, Stays Here) Beer, alongside immersive experiences by some of Las Vegas’ premier brands.

#WHHSH Beer captures the essence of Las Vegas and adult freedom. Crafted locally in Las Vegas by Tenaya Creek Brewery, #WHHSH Beer is an easy drinking, pale ale with hints of citrus and pine creating a cool, clean finish. The exclusive beer will only be available at select Las Vegas sponsored events. #WHHSH Beer is the first of Las Vegas’ limited edition #WHHSH products to be introduced.

After performing one of Friday’s most sought after sets at the festival, headliner G-Eazy met up with Amber Rose where the two were seen laughing and chatting as they sipped #WHHSH cocktails together. Kellan Lutz arrived shortly after and mingled throughout the party, stopping to play ping-pong as revelers cheered him on. Additional celebrities, including Ed Westwick, Icona Pop, Bob Moses, J Sutta and more joined influencers and guests alike to party in true Las Vegas style.

As guests and celebrities made their way through the party, they chose their signature photo opp: a picture in front of the #WHHSH beer step-and-repeat adorned with dozens of the sleek black and white cans, a stacked “What Happens Here, Stays Here” logo and simply #WHHSH.

Attendees also experienced Only-in-Vegas moments at the Vegas VR bar, where they were instantly transported to the hottest Las Vegas attractions. Once they came back to reality, partygoers were treated to exquisite hairstyle creations by Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino and Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa at their pop-up braid bar complemented by glitter and fresh floral.

Partygoers sipped on #WHHSH Beer and carefully crafted ARIA Resort & Casino beer-infused cocktails as they watched Zappos’ resident artist Miguel create an oversized floral masterpiece, and mingled with other revelers in the packed party.

Right as the party was really revving up, excitement levels hit an all-time high as Icona Pop went on-stage for an exclusive set, singing hits such as “I Love It.” After a #WHHSH toast with all partygoers, the duo jumped in the pool, splashed in the water and posed with guests.

As Icona Pop warmed up in the sun and sipped on their #WHHSH beers, Palms Casino Resort’s “Ditch Fridays” DJ, Mark Stylz, kept the party going for the rest of the day with a strong set that can only come from Las Vegas.

DNCE, Joe Jonas’ band, was seen striking up conversations with fans and friends as they made their way to the #WHHSH stage to perform an energetic set. They were soon joined by b of “The Vampire Diaries,” who met them onstage. Graham then made her way through the party, as she greeted friends and fans and danced to the music for the rest of the day.

“Downton Abbey’s” Joanne Froggatt was also spotted playing oversized beer pong and Strangers We Know, fresh from their performance at the festival the day before, made their way through the party striking poses and sipping #WHHSH beer along the way. Olympic gymnast Josh Dixon and travel influencer Brian Kelly, The Points Guy, were also seen experiencing Vegas VR.

All guests were treated like VIPs with massages and hand treatments provided by the Spa at The Linq Hotel & Casino. After entering a state of relaxation, partygoers enjoyed an array of culinary creations by SkinnyFATS, a local Las Vegas eatery.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed more curated experiences from Zappos; Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino; Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa; and Mark Stylz from Palms Casino Resort and one-of-a-kind drawings by Napkin Killa.

Supercar Experience Designed with an Eye toward City’s Growing Number of
International and Business Visitors

SPEEDVEGAS will start its engines come March 2016, when the 1.5-mile supercar track at Las Vegas’ newest and most thrilling attraction opens for business. By May 2016, the entire $30 million motorsports complex—including a multilevel welcome center, event center with a capacity of up to 1,000 guests, café and much more—will be complete. The 100-acre supercar driving experience broke ground in September 2015.

Designed for the truly global audience that comprises Las Vegas’ more than 40 million annual visitors, SPEEDVEGAS will be a destination for not only exotic car enthusiasts, but also anyone and everyone seeking an exhilarating, only-in-Vegas-style experience. An onsite meetings and events facility means SPEEDVEGAS stands poised to accommodate not only leisure visitors, but also corporate and incentive group business with ease.

Keeping in mind the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s (LVCVA) stated goal of growing international visitation to the destination to 30 percent by the end of the decade, SPEEDVEGAS sought expert input from an international panel of travel and tourism experts in the development of its design. Plans incorporated input gleaned from a focus group SPEEDVEGAS hosted composed of leading professionals from the LVCVA, international tour operators from UK, Latin America and Asia, along with meeting and event planners. For example, participants recommended shuttle service from the Las Vegas Strip, an option to be driven in the car instead of driving and flexibility to arrive at the visitors leisure instead of committing to a specific time and car.

“We listened to our customers and industry colleagues to create the ultimate experience,” explained Aaron Fessler, founder and chief executive officer, SPEEDVEGAS. “It’s critical we stay nimble and able to accommodate different cultures. It’s also essential we offer ample and flexible space for groups. South Point Hotel and Casino Opens Doors to $35 Million South Point Bowling Plaza, State-of-the-Art United States Bowling Congress Tournament Facility

 

South Point Hotel and Casino’s new $35 million bowling tournament facility, South Point Bowling Plaza, rolls into Las Vegas eight months early with a full schedule of tournament events beginning on Saturday, Nov. 1.  After signing a 12-year deal with United States Bowling Congress (USBC), Las Vegas Events (LVE) and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) in April 2013, South Point Bowling Plaza has scheduled 122 days in 2015, 210 days in 2016 and 310 days of tournament operations in 2017.

 

“South Point Bowling Plaza offers a state-of-the-art, customized facility that was strictly designed with the needs of a tournament bowler in mind,” said Ryan Growney, South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa general manager. “Having built five bowling facilities throughout his career, Michael Gaughan’s experience in the bowling industry has allowed us to create an unparalleled tournament bowling plaza that will generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact to this city.”

 

The South Point Bowling Plaza, a spacious 90,000-square-foot facility, features 60 lanes with two parallel rows of 30 lanes, a 360-seat viewing area and a 720-unit locker room. In addition, the USBC tournament bowling-focused center includes a 350 seated squad room equipped with a team photo booth area, stub lane, ball check station and bracket room. For the first time in history, Brunswick, Daktronics and USBC partnered to create two 167-foot state-of-the-art digital displays with static and animated advertising capabilities, spanning across the two 30 lane competition floors.

 

During the design process, each lane was built on free floating slabs to ensure the facility is equipped with soundproof barriers.  Each pair of lanes has two score boards for ultimate display throughout the concourse area. The width of the flooring between the ball return and lane spans a larger length than usual tournament facilities to offer bowlers with the maximum angle of attacks. As a tournament bowling facility, each pair of lanes is fitted with ball returns, undercarriages and round tables equipped to carry up to 38 balls in order to meet the average ball-to-athlete ratio.

Over the span of the agreement, South Point Bowling Plaza will host several annual USBC events, including the USBC Women’s Championships in 2016 and the USBC Open Championships in 2017. The partnership will bring more than 40 additional tournaments, conventions and short duration events to Las Vegas including events such as the USBC Masters, USBC Queens, USBC Senior Masters and USBC Team USA Trials.

 

“We sincerely appreciate the partnership we have with the South Point,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. “This public/private partnership allows us to bring nine major bowling events to Las Vegas, plus a minimum of 40 additional events over the next ten years. Combined, these events will bring more than one million visitors to the destination. Without the new facility, none of this would have been possible.”

 

In 2009, the USBC Open Championships, held at Cashman Center in Las Vegas, ran for a record 154 consecutive days with a capacity total of 17,200 teams competing from Feb. 21 to July 24, 2009. The total estimated attendance for bowling participants and their travel parties was 292,750 with an average room stay of 4.3 nights and a non-gaming economic impact of more than $120 million. Las Vegas was also host city for the USBC Open Championships in 1986. The USBC Women’s Championships previously was held in Las Vegas in 1973 and 1983, attracting 9,644 and 14,430 teams, respectively.

 

With participation estimates for the seven Championship events taken into account, South Point Hotel is able to accommodate hotel reservations for an estimated 27 percent of visitors, while the remaining 73 percent will occupy rooms throughout the city during event s held for the duration of this agreement.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), in conjunction with National Travel & Tourism Week, is honoring exemplary employees who demonstrate superior customer service.  They are calling these employees “Hospitality Heroes” – those who go above and beyond to deliver the best customer service and show the best hospitality to every visitor they meet.  Van Fletcher, Banquet Food Server at the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for more than 43 years, was nominated by the hotel and won this illustrious title for 2014.

The Academy of Country Music and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) announced today that country music superstars Luke Bryan and Eric Church will be the headlining performers for ACM Weekend on Fremont Street Experience, to be held on consecutive nights, March 30-31, 2012 in Las Vegas. Bryan will headline on Friday night, March 30th and Church will headline on Saturday, March 31st.

These concerts take place in conjunction with The Week Vegas Goes Country, the week of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, honoring country music’s top talent and the industry’s hottest emerging talent, to be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1st, 2012 at 8pm live ET on the CBS Television Network.

For the sixth year in a row, the Academy of Country Music presents free and open-to-the-public concerts starting at 6:30pm on two stages in downtown Las Vegas at Fremont Street Experience. The weekend-long party leading up to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards is sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and features headlining performers and emerging artists.
