Bags will be flying at Topgolf Las Vegas as they hosts the American Cornhole Organizations’ Worlds Cornhole Kick-Off Bash and Championship Matches inside The Toyota Yard. On Monday, July 1, get the party started at the Kick-Off Bash with a live DJ and two prize-winning tournaments starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, July 6, the World Championships begin at 6 p.m. from inside The Toyota Yard, featuring the best cornhole players from around the world in all divisions ranging from Men’s, Women’s, singles, juniors and coed teams. Kids Summer Academy is an exciting five-day program of non-stop entertainment and learning that kids will love. The Academy educates aspiring young golfers on all aspects of the sport including proper etiquette, understanding of the rules and learning how to chip, putt and do a full swing. Each Academy is designed and taught Golf Teaching Professionals in a fun and relaxed environment. Las Vegas’ Premier Meetings & Convention Destination Hosts MAGIC within New Expansion Space

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino opens the Convention Center’s 350,000-square-foot expansion this week and welcomes its first group into the new space. Creating the most customer-focused convention facility in North America, the $70 million expansion allows Mandalay Bay to grow current shows and attract new groups with the added flexibility.

Based on customer demand, the resort built new exhibit space, a 20,000-square-foot foyer and underground parking in this first phase, strengthening its position as a leader in the meetings and trade show industry. The second and final phase of the expansion will transition existing space into a 70,000-square-foot carpeted ballroom to accommodate new corporate partners and associations as well as achieve greater utilization of the entire facility.

Construction began in October 2014 and upon completion of this project in January 2016, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center will boast more than 2 million total square feet and over 900,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space. This new space elevates its ranking in North America to No. 5 in both total square feet and exhibit space.

“The opening of our convention center expansion is another exciting milestone in the multi-year transformation of our resort,” said Chuck Bowling, President and COO of Mandalay Bay. “The response to booking the space has exceeded our expectations, and we believe this investment will increase visitation to Las Vegas, driving incremental business to MGM Resorts’ portfolio and the city overall.”

Stephanie Glanzer, vice president of Sales at Mandalay Bay, said, “In addition to the convention center expansion, we recently announced and are undergoing our 3,000-room remodel. These updates combined with numerous other new offerings and venues solidify Mandalay Bay as a top choice for corporate groups and trade shows of all sizes. One of our larger shows, MAGIC, is a valued loyal customer and we are pleased to welcome them as our first group into the new space.”

MAGIC, the world’s largest fashion marketplace featuring the latest trends in apparel and much more, has been a long-time client of Mandalay Bay and has been able to grow its show with the resort’s growth. Tony Calanca, Executive Vice President of Exhibitions for UBM ADVANSTAR, said, “We have enjoyed working with the professionals at Mandalay Bay throughout the years and appreciate their willingness to help us create the most positive, productive experiences for our customers. The resort’s state-of-the-art, high-density Wi-Fi has been added to the new space to accommodate more attendees, provide unique custom solutions based on the needs of the group and allow for the most advanced presentations. The system’s benefits include the convenience of a one-time log-in for convention goers during their stay and the seamless connectivity throughout Mandalay Bay, from the convention center to public indoor and outdoor spaces to the guest rooms. A distinct capability that sets this Wi-Fi apart from all others is convention attendees will stay connected with the same high-performance Wi-Fi when visiting any MGM Resorts destination along The Strip from Mandalay Bay to The Mirage, including MGM Grand, Bellagio and ARIA.

Further solidifying what already is the largest convention center solar array in the world, the expanded Mandalay Bay Convention Center is incorporating an additional rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) array spanning 8 acres. Upon completion in Fall 2015, the added portion of the array will generate approximately 1.9 MW with an approximate annual production of 3.4M kilowatt hours. Covering more than 28 acres, the combined array will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 1,300 homes.

Mandalay Bay and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center hold coveted Five Key ratings from the Green Key Eco-Rating and Meetings Programs. In addition, TripAdvisor has awarded the resort Gold in its GreenLeaders Program. Rock in Rio USA has announced the availability of single day general admission tickets for the upcoming festival taking place May 8-9, 15-16 in Las Vegas.  Starting today, single day general admission tickets will be available for $169 for each date at rockinrio.com/tickets, while supplies last. Rock in Rio, the legendary music festival celebrating its 30th anniversary worldwide, will make its U.S. debut by welcoming full-set performances from some of the biggest names in music including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Maná, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Jessie J, among others.

The City of Rock in Las Vegas will also feature three Rock Streets – themed streets that will welcome attendees to experience an entirely new and exciting kind of music festival, and to enjoy the eclectic cultures of the U.S., the UK and Brazil.

Each street has 20 houses filled with shops and restaurants, along with a stage where bands and artists will perform throughout the day. Street artists and performers will also transform the street into their own stage, interacting and connecting with the audience in an intimate environment. Rock Street will open daily at 3 PM, with concerts and performances taking place until 1:30 AM when doors close.

The City of Rock, an open-air concert venue, will be located on The Strip near the corner of Sahara Avenue and spread out over 40 acres.  With a capacity of 85,000 people per day, the venue will also include a ferris wheel and a 64 foot high zip line that stretches 600 feet across in front of the Main Stage, which is 262 feet long. The venue also includes a VIP area that can accommodate up to 4,000 people, featuring air conditioning, an all-inclusive buffet, an open bar (certain premium liquors available for additional purchase) and a unique view of the City of Rock.

Doors for the City of Rock open at 3pm and close at 1:30 AM; the Sunset Stage and the three Rock Streets start their performances at 3:30 PM and the Main Stage opens at 5:30 PM.

dick clark productions and ABC announced today that Taylor Swift will be presented with the inaugural “Dick Clark Award for Excellence” at the 2014 American Music Awards.  Swift will be recognized for her historical album sales as the only artist in history to have three albums – “Speak Now, “Red” and “1989” — each debuting with more than 1 million sold in their first week. This year, in its first week, “1989” sold 1.287 million copies, making it the highest selling album released in 2014. Swift is the first recipient of the Dick Clark Award for Excellence, given to an artist who achieves a groundbreaking feat or creates a landmark work.  It is to be bestowed upon someone whose spirit and excellence capture the visionary passion that Dick Clark himself incorporated into everything he did.

Clark, the creator of the 42-year-old American Music Awards, influenced popular music in America for six decades. He was known for maintaining a standard of excellence both in the shows he produced and in the talent that he showcased. Simultaneously “America’s Oldest Teenager” and the most trusted name in music, Clark was responsible for the first TV appearances of many superstars including Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince. Taylor Swift, who also made her debut on a Dick Clark Production show, will be honored with this prestigious award with Clark’s wife, Kari, in the audience, along with a theatre full of stars who grew up on Clark’s programs. This promises to be one of the most significant moments in the rich history of the AMA’s.

As always at the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative Rock, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational, Electronic Dance Music, as well as categories for Top Soundtrack, New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s, Artist of the Year and Single of the Year. American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming and social activity. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.

The American Music Awards is voted on by the fans. Winners will be determined through online and Twitter voting.  Voting began on October 13 for all categories except New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s. Fans can vote once per day at the Coca-Cola AMA voting site, AMAvote.com, as well as once per day via Twitter by including the nominee’s name, category name and #AMAs within a tweet.

Voting for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s opened on November 1 and will remain open throughout the first hour of the ABC live broadcast on November 23, with the winner being announced in the final hour. Fans can vote via AMAVote.com and Twitter.

Preceding the ABC broadcast for the 6th consecutive year will be the “Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2014 AMAs” pre-show. The show will be hosted by Lance Bass, Chelsea Briggs, Kandi Burruss, Gavin DeGraw, Franke Grande, Taryn Manning, Jordin Sparks, Morgan Stewart and Ted Stryker, and will feature performances by this year’s hottest emerging artists including Becky G, Ella Henderson, Katy Tiz, Mary Lambert and R5. Live coverage will stream online for fans worldwide starting at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT on November 23.  The live stream can be watched at ABC.com, TheAMAs.com and yahoo.com.

For the second consecutive year, iHeartRadio sets the stage with a daytime experience at the MGM Resorts Village in conjunction with the two-day concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Locals and tourists alike can check out the hottest musicians including Iggy Azalea, Neon Trees, Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, Magic!, The Pretty Reckless, Nico & Vinz and Lil Jon, among others, all while soaking in some Vitamin D. September 27: Boulevard Brew Fest
GRAMMY Award-winning band Kings of Leon will headline the Boulevard Brew Fest with its Mechanical Bull Tour at the MGM Resorts Village. Young The Giant, Kongos and more will join Kings of Leon for the event presented by MGM Resorts International and Oregon Brewers Festival.  While enjoying live performances, Boulevard Brew Fest attendees will have the opportunity to “tap” in to a seven-hour beer-topia featuring more than 60 unique Oregon beers from more than 50 breweries, along with local selections handcrafted by multiple Las Vegas-based craft breweries. October 3 – 5: Route 91 Harvest Festival
Route 91 Harvest is a three-day country music festival that pays homage to the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, originally known as Route 91. For the ninth consecutive year, MGM Resorts International is partnering with Rock ‘n Roll Wine to host the highly anticipated wine and music event “Wine Amplified Festival.” Based on the event’s growth and increased popularity, the two-day festival will be held for the first time at the lot across from Luxor Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11. The larger-than-ever event will begin at 4 p.m. both days and feature headliners Train and Blink 182 in addition to performances by Violent Femmes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Magic!, Better than Ezra, The Mowgli’s, of Verona and Mystic Roots, among others.

Early-bird two-day general admission tickets priced at $99 and VIP tickets priced at $249, not including applicable service charges, go on sale Thursday, July 17 at 10 a.m. Two-day general admission tickets priced at $129 and VIP tickets priced at $299, not including applicable service charges, go on sale Thursday, July 24 at 10 a.m.  Single day tickets also will be available and priced at $69 for general admission and $159 for VIP. American rock band Train is set to headline the festival Friday, Oct. 10 at 10:30 p.m. The two-time GRAMMY Award-winning band will perform its most popular hits including “Meet Virginia,” “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” and “Hey, Soul Sister,” among others. Also scheduled to perform Friday evening are Michael Franti & Spearhead, Better than Ezra, of Verona and Mystic Roots. Punk rock band Blink 182 is set to headline Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10:30 p.m. With smashing hits such as “Dammit,” “What’s My Age Again?” and “All the Small Things,” the New York Times claimed “no punk band of the 1990s has been more influential than Blink 182.” Also slated to appear Saturday night are Violent Femmes, Magic! and The Mowgli’s.
