ABSINTHE Celebrates Seven Years on The Strip with The Gazillionaire’s Gala of Gluttony, May 7

In celebration of ABSINTHE’s seven unabashedly irreverent years in Las Vegas, the show’s foul-mouthed owner and host will present The Gazillionaire’s Gala of Gluttony, a sure-to-be unforgettable experience inside his wondrous Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 7. Hosted by The Gazillionaire and his raucous assistant Wanda Widdles, the Gala of Gluttony will feature specially created, one-night-only performances by the casts of ABSINTHE and OPIUM, a live band, and surprise guests.

The event, which The Gazillionaire promises to be “THE GREATEST DINNER THEATRE ON EARTH,” will feature a specially curated menu from the star restaurants of Caesars Palace, including Restaurant Guy Savoy, Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill, Searsucker, Rao’s, Beijing Noodle No. 9, and more. The intimate spectacle will be presented to an invited VIP audience seated at cocktail tables, and a limited number of tickets will be made available for sale to the public at a cost of $300 per seat with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to Three Square Food Bank. To purchase tickets, email or call 702.749.5881 ext. 103. Visit for more information.

From zombie invasions to toga-themed celebrations and everything in between, The Gazillionaire is known for throwing one hell of an anniversary party. This year will take the anniversary revelry to a whole new level, with a first-of-its-kind Spiegelworld celebration.

“It’s beyond me how ABSINTHE is still up and running, but I won’t argue as long as the cash keeps rolling in,” shared The Gazillionaire. “You only turn seven once, so we’re doing it big. And being the generous guy I am, I’m giving a few schmucks the opportunity to dig deep into their own pockets to help out the hungry. I can’t wait for my celebrity chef friends to show off and make everyone feel bad for the gluttonous meal they’re about to indulge in. It’s a win-win for everyone, especially Three Square.”

Celebrating its own milestone anniversary this year, Three Square Food Bank is southern Nevada’s largest hunger relief organization and currently provides more than 37 million meals per year to those in need throughout the region. Through the end of May, each dollar donated to Three Square will be matched through the generosity of area corporate partners as part of the Bag Childhood Hunger campaign. Every dollar donated through May 31 will provide six meals to children struggling with hunger in our community. Invited guests will also have an opportunity to donate at the event.

“We are very fortunate to live in the Entertainment Capital of the World,” said Brian Burton, President and CEO of Three Square Food Bank. “When entertainment meets philanthropy, the outcome is show stopping,” Burton continued. “We are so grateful that ABSINTHE has decided to fight hunger in conjunction with their anniversary. Congratulations on seven phenomenal years and an amazing show to boot.”

ABSINTHE’S seventh anniversary celebration comes on the heels of the launch of its 7-day a week performance schedule, commencing on Monday, May 14.

The Gazillionaire’s Gala of Gluttony: Monday, May 7 at 8 p.m. at Spiegelworld, Caesars Palace Las Vegas. A limited number of $300 tickets for this one-night-only event benefitting Three Square Food Bank are on sale now and can be purchased by emailing or calling 702.749.5881 ext. 103.

Las Vegas Strip Headliners Come Together for One Special Performance for NF Hope

Frankie Moreno, Human Nature, Cast members from ABSINTHE, JERSEY BOYS & more perform at Third Annual NF Hope Concert Oct. 20 at The Venetian

On Sunday, Oct. 20, The Strip’s most engaging headliners will shine their star power on the fight against Neurofibromatosis at the Third Annual NF Hope Concert.   Performers from across The Strip’s stages will come together at The Venetian Showroom for a one-day-only performance benefitting the NF Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to families and individuals with neurofibromatosis, more commonly known as NF. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NVCCF) in their support of local families touched by NF. The Third Annual NF Hope Concert will feature performances by some of the biggest names in Las Vegas as well as an impressive silent auction. Tickets are on sale now and prices start at $45. They are available by calling any Venetian/Palazzo box office at 702-414-9000, or online at

The star-studded concert will include performances by Frankie Moreno, Human Nature, Clint Holmes and Kelly Clinton, ABSINTHE’s “Green Fairy” Melody Sweets, cast members from JERSEY BOYS, ROCK OF AGES, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and many more.  Joey Dowling from FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” will present a piece created for the Troupe, a local dance competition team.  There will also be special performances by two talented performers living with NF.  This year’s silent auction items include tickets to Celine Dion, Shania Twain, JERSEY BOYS, ROCK OF AGES, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, show memorabilia, restaurant certificates, spa certificates and much more.

The concert, produced by JERSEY BOYS star Jeff Leibow with Neil Miller and Pat Caddick as consulting producers from The Chimaera Group, is inspired by Leibow’s daughter Emma, who was diagnosed with NF at the age of nine months. NF is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that results in a mutation on a gene that normally suppresses tumor growth. This allows for tumors to grow on any nerve in the body without warning. Leibow and his wife Melody conceived the idea for the concert upon the realization that they had an obligation to their family and the 100,000 people living with NF to educate more people about the disorder.

“Despite all our prayers and wishes that Emma might stay untouched by this disorder, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January.  It is a horrible, frightening thing to hear about your child, but our fears have only fueled our wish to do everything we can to make a difference in the fight against NF,” said Leibow.

NF is one of the most common genetic disorders and affects more than 100,000 Americans, making it more common than cystic fibrosis, hereditary muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease and Tay Sachs combined. Despite its commonality, the disorder struggles to get federal support every year.

“Since 1996, advocacy has provided most of the research money for neurofibromatosis, and we are doing everything we can to keep that going.  Since its inception in 2011, NF Hope has raised nearly $50,000 for NF Network, a national non-profit dedicated to helping individuals with neurofibromatosis.  It is still our dream to see NF Hope become a national organization producing concerts all over the US.  For now we are focused on continuing to make this concert a staple in Las Vegas with the hope of making a difference in Emma’s life and the lives of the more than 100,000 people living with NF in the US alone,” Leibow added.

The Third Annual NF Hope Concert will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Sands Showroom at The Venetian Las Vegas. The show begins at 1 p.m., and the lobby will open at 11:45 a.m. for the silent auction.  Ticket prices range from $45 – $60 plus tax and service charges. To purchase tickets, call the Venetian/Palazzo Box Office at 702-414-9000 or visit

Life is Beautiful Festival Announces Interactive Art Programming
Complete with Theatrical, Visual and Street Art Projects

Headlining performance artists Cirque du Soleil, “Absinthe”, Human Nature, Jabbawockeez,
“Million Dollar Quartet”, Recycled Percussion and “Rock of Ages” to take the stage

Street and traditional artists to erect murals and other immersive artistic endeavors

Life is Beautiful (L.I.B.) unveils its art programming for the inaugural festival taking place Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 2013. Designed to be seamlessly programmed with the music, food and learning festival elements, L.I.B’s art presentations will center around live performance, and several mediums of visual art with the festival grounds as its canvas.

“Our goal is to create a live urban gallery that is essentially woven into our festival footprint. We want to expose our festival-goers to many types of dynamic artistic mediums,” stated festival co-founder Rehan Choudhry. “We are fortunate that Las Vegas is home to many of the world’s greatest performance artists, and inspires much of the world’s great visual art. We are infusing those stunning influences into our festival experience.”

The festival’s art program is comprised of three separate initiatives, bringing artists out of their traditional studios, galleries or theaters and into the streets of Downtown Las Vegas. With an up-close-and-personal feel, L.I.B.’s art program is meant to surround guests with both elusive and interactive activations.

RISE ABOVE: A Street Art Program
The urban surroundings of the Life is Beautiful venue provide a perfect backdrop for what will be an  eclectic and permanent street art program that will redefine the look of Downtown Las Vegas for years to come. Curated by Charlotte Dutoit, RISE ABOVE will turn Downtown Las Vegas into an art-inspired playground showcasing works by some of the biggest names in international street art. Contributing artists include: Vhils (Portugal), D*Face (UK), Alexis Diaz (AKA La Pandilla from Puerto Rico), Interesni Kazki (Ukrane), Zio Ziegler (San Francisco), Ana Maria (Houston) and Aware (Las Vegas). Creation of these original pieces, which include murals, stencils by The Stencil Network (NYC) and giant show posters by Bicicleta Sem Freio (Brazil), will begin the week prior to the festival and be completed live on site.

The Odyssey: A Visual Art Experience
A first-class visual art program, curated by Patrick Duffy, former president of the Las Vegas Art Museum and current executive board member for Smith Center for the Performing Arts, will also be presented at L.I.B. His program, entitled The Odyssey, is a visual exploration of the art that inspires creativity in all of us, no matter age, education or upbringing. Presented through staged exhibits at varying venues, The Odyssey will show work from the Opportunity Village Art and Enrichment Program, Eric Tillinghast, William T. Wiley, Wendy Kveck, Catherine Borg, Yasmina and Javier Sanchez, Adam Morey, and Jaime Sholnick.

At the helm of the fine art programming is a multi-media presentation of “13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests” featuring Dean and Britta. A project commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, “13 Most Beautiful” is a live multimedia performance featuring large scale video projection of Warhol’s Screen Tests (4-minute silent film portraits of visitors to his studio), set to the music of Dean and Britta and their band, who perform live on stage while the films are projected above.

“For many years ‘art’ has been synonymous with Downtown Las Vegas,” says L.I.B. partner and First Friday managing partner Joey Vanas. “What Life is Beautiful intends to do during our festival weekend and beyond is bring national and international attention to our local artists and further the growth of Downtown Las Vegas as a serious art community.”

Theatrical Performances
Festival attendees will see why Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World through performances from renowned Strip productions that will vacate their theaters and permeate the streets of Downtown. Featured acts include six shows by Cirque du Soliel, “Absinthe”, Human Nature, “Jabbawockeez”, “Million Dollar Quartet”, Recycled Percussion and “Rock of Ages”. Each will be programmed on (and sometimes off) the festival stages, presenting snippets of their well-known productions and giving guests an intimate yet varied taste of some of the best live shows in town.
