Groovy! The Space Adds Evil Dead The Musical HD to Fall Performances✋✋

“You…bastards! You dirty bastards!” – Ash Williams
Join Ash and Friends as They Battle Evil in “Evil Dead The Musical HD”
at The Space October 2-27 – Tickets On Sale Now!

You’re going down!  Down to The Space that is, as Ash is back for an exclusive engagement of “Evil Dead The Musical HD” live in all its horror/comedy glory with the ultimate battle – Demon vs. Ash. Whether you grew up on the Evil Dead franchise from the ’80s and ’90s, think Ash is the King or can recite every line from “Army of Darkness,” this show is for you!  “Evil Dead The Musical HD” is a musical ride through the cult-hit story never witnessed before.  The virtual set whimsically takes you through the cabin, the forest and even to S-Mart in an adventure that can only be described as the “ultimate virtual experience in grueling terror.” This limited run, Vegas engagement will play October 2-27 nightly at 8 p.m. (dark Mondays & Tuesdays).  Tickets start at $30 for general seating and $35 for exclusive ‘Splatter Zone’ tickets (hint – you WILL be covered in fake blood) and available now online at www.thespacelv.com and www.evildeadtickets.com.

“Evil Dead The Musical HD” takes all the elements of the cult classic films “The Evil Dead,” “Evil Dead 2,” and “Army of Darkness” and combines them for one of the craziest, funniest, and bloodiest theatrical experiences of all time.  Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes… and all to music.  The songs in the show are completely off the wall as well. Titles like “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons” and “What the F**k Was That?” has had audiences rolling in their seats, and screaming for more and more blood.  You don’t need to be a fan of “Evil Dead” to love this show. You don’t need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don’t even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun… this show is for you.  Is it scary?  No!  Is it gory?  No.  This is a pure comedy start to finish.  It has fun with the horror genre, and in doing so appeals to a wider audience than you could ever imagine.  Plus it’s the only show with a ‘Splatter Zone’ – a section of the audience that gets covered in fake blood.  And with this combination of blood, jokes, cheesy effects, and really awesome musical numbers, “Evil Dead The Musical HD” is unlike any live show you’ve ever seen.

While the “Evil Dead” films are the definition of cult movies, as a stage show, “Evil Dead The Musical HD” has become a cult sensation of its own.  The show played Off-Broadway in New York, has broken records in Toronto, has won awards in Korea, launched three North American tours, and has had over 200 productions mounted across the globe.  Critics rave about it, with everyone from “The New York Times” to “Maxim” giving it top marks.  And because this show appeals to both the fans of the films (of which there’s still tons), and the new audience who loves it purely as a stage show, theatres who put on the production are blown away by the audience response.  “Evil Dead The Musical HD” is truly the grooviest show you will ever experience.

THE VENETIAN AND THE PALAZZO, POWERED BY SANDS CARES, MAKE A $25,000 DONATION TO ‘MONDAYS DARK’

Sands Cares, the global corporate citizenship program of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Las Vegas Sands Corp., is donating $25,000 to help fund the operating costs of local philanthropic organization, Mondays Dark.

Twice a month, Mondays Dark gathers an eclectic cast of guests, including stars from Hollywood and the Las Vegas Strip, musical acts, comedians, athletes, and the occasional celebrity chef, for 90 minutes of conversation, entertainment, and plenty of laughs – with a mission is to raise $10,000 per performance for a rotating roster of Las Vegas charities. The $20 variety show has become one of the hottest tickets in town and the list of charities waiting to partner with Mondays Dark continues to grow. Since 2013, the ongoing program has partnered with more than 50 local charities, raising more than $500,000.

“By helping to fund their operating costs, we can ensure that 100 percent of funds raised at each performance can go to Las Vegas charities,” said Stephanie Stanton, director of Sands Cares. “Through this donation, we want to help Mondays Dark run with virtually no expenses.”

The donation will be ceremoniously presented by the cast of “BAZ – A Musical Mash Up” at an upcoming show.

“When I moved to Vegas to open Rock of Ages, The Venetian was essentially my home for three years. I had the time of my life performing there and became great friends with many who work there,” said Mark Shunock, founder of Mondays Dark and The Space. “It’s an honor to have Sands Cares recognize Mondays Dark and the work we are doing in the community. To have them on our team is something I don’t take lightly. It means the world to me and I’m so grateful for their support.”

Las Vegas Sands Corp. has a deep and longstanding commitment to giving back to not only our community, but integrates philanthropic work worldwide with the help of priceless donations, such as countless hours of Team Member volunteerism, and in-kind support.

“Not only does this donation support the Las Vegas arts community, it also a nonprofit that is ‘paying it forward’ by fundraising for other nonprofits,” continued Stanton. “This is a great example of an organization that has found a way to serve multiple audiences and is a win/win for everybody.”

Upcoming partner charities include St. Jude’s Ranch for Children and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (February); Miracle Flights and Baby’s Bounty (March); Tyler Robinson Foundation and HELP of Southern Nevada (April); and New Vista and Positively Arts Foundation (May).

Sands Cares also donated theatre and staging equipment to help the organization create The Space, a Las Vegas community-driven charity-based arts complex, and home to Mondays Dark.

On Thursday, May 19, Keep Memory Alive’s 20th annual Power of Love® gala honoree, Tony Bennett, was recognized as 20 Las Vegas marquees around the city lit up with an image of the world-renowned artist in celebration of his 90th birthday and participation in the Gala. More than 50 people attended the invite-only fête, including Bennett’s wife Susan Benedetto, while dozens of onlookers gathered around to watch the ceremony, which took place on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

Next, Bennett and Ruvo took to the stage to discuss Bennett’s career, milestone birthday and what Keep Memory Alive and brain health means to him. Ruvo then lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday,” which concluded with a Dom Pérignon champagne toast by Shunock as the marquees illuminated with Bennett’s picture. Entertainment’s hit show Dr. 90210 where he reconstructed the bodies – and lives of breast cancer survivors. The Healing Curve provides funding and support for the surgical correction of physical deformities that have been acquired as a result of cancer, a traumatic accident, prior unsuccessful surgeries and/or congenital birth defects.

Rudy Foundation with Special Showcase, “Mama Rocks A Million Boys” Featuring The Strip’s Four Resident Broadway Shows at Vinyl inside
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Monday, June 16th at 8:30 p.m.

Mark Shunock is proud to announce that the June showcase of Mondays Dark will take place on Monday, June 16 at 8:30 p.m. at Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  Following the success of last month’s “Boy Band Night,” 100 percent of the ticket proceeds from the June showcase will benefit Rudy Foundation, and will feature the music of Tony-nominated musicals in an electrifying evening, “Mama Rocks A Million Boys,” showcasing energetic scene favorites from the four celebrated Las Vegas Broadway musicals:  Mamma Mia!, Rock of Ages, Million Dollar Quartet, and Jersey Boys.

“Last month’s ‘Boy Band Night’ was a blast, and this month’s Broadway-themed show shouldn’t be missed, especially with the Tony Awards coming up very soon,” says Shunock, who plays Lonny in the hit Rock of Ages at The Venetian. “The support of the community and the performers here in Las Vegas has truly inspired me to take ‘Mondays Dark’ to a new level each month so that we can continue to raise much needed funds for local charities.”

Every month, Shunock gathers an eclectic cast of guests including stars from Hollywood, the Strip, musical acts, athletes and celebrity chefs for 90 minutes of chat, entertainment – and a lot of laughs. Mondays Dark partners with a different Las Vegas-based charity to raise money each month for that charity through ticket sales and silent auction items.

This month, “Mondays Dark” will partner with recent Best of Henderson honoree Rudy Foundation, a 501©(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities by bringing people together, providing scholarship opportunities in the areas of education, sports, and the performing arts, and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

“It’s an honor to be selected as the charity of choice for Mondays Dark,” says Cheryl Ruettiger, co-founder and executive director of Rudy Foundation. “Mark and Rudy Foundation have a common goal of empowering the youth of Las Vegas through the performing arts in ways that bring our community together.”

Rudy Foundation was inspired by the story of Daniel ‘Rudy’ Ruettiger, a Las Vegas local who grew up in a small town with the dream of playing football at Notre Dame University. Against all obstacles, from low grades and financial hardship to his 5’6” stature, Ruettiger’s spirit and determination persevered, allowing him to be an instrumental force in his team’s win against Georgia Tech. The story of his triumph was told in the 1993 blockbuster film, Rudy, starring Sean Astin.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by visiting www.MondaysDark.com and are limited to 200 tickets per event. For more information please call 702-485-1262. Follow us on Twitter @Mondays_Dark.  To donate silent auction items please call 702-485-1262.
